But... lo and behold, we called Aldo and they offered to open up, just for us! We got there promptly at 9am, and two of the nicest sweetest ladies were waiting for us. I promptly plopped myself in a chair and told the woman very little directions: "up, neat but not too neat". And then... she worked magic! I was SUPER impressed with how well my hair came out, and I think this may be my most favorite up-do from the millions of weddings I've been in!! My friends were also super impressed, and I loved the bargain price of $60 for an updo! The 3 of us were out of there by 10:30, and even the high priced NY stylists (who were working on the bride) were also impressed with how well our hair came out!! The ladies were also just SUPER nice, and super accommodating... I think I called them about four or five times changing the number of ladies who needed an updo during the course of one week! It is both a hair salon and a barber (who does beard trimmings and hot shaves!).

There is signage to tell you what the charge would be for service they will provide. Suddenly, in the area, there is plethora of barbers. There are more people up here now, than 20 years ago. However, this is not New York City that could have as many as 1,000 people on a single block. Many of these new places have small windows that you can't see into the shop or a lot of cars parked outside with blacked out windows. Seems odd; just saying.
