One of my best friends was getting married (yay! Congrats Marina!!!), and it was a Sunday ceremony, so the bridesmaids had a bit of a tough time finding a hair salon (other than the salon within Walmart). But... lo and behold, we called Aldo and they offered to open up, just for us! We got there promptly at 9am, and two of the nicest sweetest ladies were waiting for us. I promptly plopped myself in a chair and told the woman very little directions: "up, neat but not too neat". And then... she worked magic! I was SUPER impressed with how well my hair came out, and I think this may be my most favorite up-do from the millions of weddings I've been in!! My friends were also super impressed, and I loved the bargain price of $60 for an updo! The 3 of us were out of there by 10:30, and even the high priced NY stylists (who were working on the bride) were also impressed with how well our hair came out!! The ladies were also just SUPER nice, and super accommodating... I think I called them about four or five times changing the number of ladies who needed an updo during the course of one week! I came here this past weekend to have my hair put up for a wedding (I was a bridesmaid, and the bride just had everyone do whatever they wanted with their hair). I had a basic idea of what I wanted, and -- now I'm forgetting the hairdresser's name, she's tall with a short haircut; said she considered being a state trooper before deciding on a career as a stylist-- she did a perfect job. It was beautiful, and exactly what I had in mind. It was on the pricy side, I thought-- $60 for an updo with no hair washing-- but still, it was worth it to have it done right. One really important thing to note is that they ONLY take CASH or CHECKS-- so make sure you're prepared, or you'll have to go searching for an ATM in the area that actually works (I found 2 non functioning ones before I was able to take cash out). read more

$30 for a haircut and blow dry ($20 for seniors which I think is a great deal!) -- what's not to love? Everyone is so friendly and Aldo is very sweet and has obviously been doing this for many years and loves what he does. I loved the way most of the customers seemed to be regulars and were treated like family and how well cared for the seniors are -- I would definitely bring my Mom here and be happy to know that she had a place to go to and be treated that well! read more

I recently got married in the Fishkill/Garrison area and had trouble finding a hair stylist that would travel to my venue to do my hair since no one else in my bridal party wanted to get theirs done. I decided to go to Aldo's the morning of my wedding as soon as they opened at 9 am. While the salon is somewhat dated and made me a little nervous upon first walking in, when I walked out 45 minutes later my hair looked beautiful and stayed in place for the whole night. read more

Also is an amazingly nice man. My mom went there for years. There was tension in the salon however. Also it is more of a place for older women. The ambiance isn't great. I would say go to Aldo if you are a man. read more

I called Aldo's hair salon about 6 weeks in advance. I was feeling out the area where we are going to get married. My hair dresser back in Bayonne, NJ told me to call around and look at the websites... (I didn't know what I was looking for in the websites- or how I'd know who was any "better" at one thing or another), so took the dart and tossed. Aldo's happen to be the first place I called. The man who answered without asking knew what I was coming in for, told me what and how it works, and I said I'd let him know... This place stuck in my mind, so called back a couple days later to make the appointment for an updo, and what was recommended was the "hair trial". Ok, so day of hair trial comes, my car is packed and ready to go up a few days before put big day, I'm excited to see what will happen with my hair, and go from there. I got to the salon. The owner introduced me to Teri. She, in her, no kidding, way laid back (remember, I'm a wee excited and eager), simply pulls out my hair tie, and looks and feels my hair, and casually asked what I had in mind. I showed her the couple pictures I thought might work... And she responds, ok. We can do that... Now, I'm thinking she's going to do this now for a "pre-run" but something told me she was all set (and three wasn't going to be any curling or updo today). She sat down, we chatted.... I realized, I'm in good hands. The day came, and no kidding, it was like this absolute professional hair stylist in this absolutely "easy" personality. I had no worries. (Which by the way, is what we all wish for, so when it happens, on the day of your wedding, pretty much you can't get a big smile off your face(;). I had soooo many compliments on the hair. I wanted to tell Teri in person, but I realized this is even better. Thank you Teri. You made the very beginning of my "big day" begin with a warm sense of peace, and end with a beautiful no fuss, updo. (Which I took out today, and wow! No tangles! And still really prett curls(:). Terry cut and styled my hair for a big wedding. She is not only a great stylist, but she is full of knowledge and suggestions for you personally. I've been needing to go back there, but Terry cut my hair so well that it has been growing in nicely enough to continue receiving compliments. I travel an hour to get there and it's well worth it. read more

I love Aldo's, because you get to meet Aldo himself and the other lovely hair stylists! All of whom are wonderful, they treat you like family and stand behind their service. If you are not happy with their service you can always go back and ask for a redo! I've been going to this salon for over a year now, can't fault it. Aldo's is the first hair salon I've ever been to, and at 23yrs ol, I was fortunate enough receive suggestions on hairstyles from Aldo himself, and received wonderful care from Carolann. I donated 15 inches of my hair to Wigs for Kids. I couldn't be happier with my visit. read more
