Linda's birthday! Our server was excellent, Luis G was busy and able to stay on top of our orders and delivered excellent service with a smile and a great attitude. We had toasted ravioli for an appetizer, the Gabriella's house bread is excellent, add the olive oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic dip I could have made a meal on that alone. We had the solo pizza with black olives, mushrooms and Canadian bacon, the crust was thin and perfection, we also had the 5 cheese lasagna, the sauce is incredible. A friend in Houston recommended Gabriella's and I owe him dinner. Dessert was lemon cheesecake with blueberries. This was a yummy Italian place. Several of the staff recommended the Roma pasta. We don't do spicy or we would have ordered that. The garlic bread at the beginning is 10 stars! We ordered a pizza and it was yummy. The star of the show was the seven layer chocolate cake. It was so delicious and had beautiful. Loved the atmosphere. Been here several times over the years but first time since they've expanded. This place straight up sucks. My solo pizza was soft on the bottom. Had one slice and was done. My cheese pizza addict son only had a few pieces of his pizza. The fried mozzarella was terrible. The service was terrible. Pizza was meh. To-go system leaves A LOT to be desired. They gave our order to someone else, and he came back for his order and they gave him the one that was his but it had been sitting there for over an hour! Ours was made fresh because they gave it away to him. All the to go food was sitting in a big warmer, in various pieces rather than grouped in the kitchen. The poor front desk worker was alone and overwhelmed. Fix this system... Probably wouldn't order from here again. Three stars only because yes they were busy but that system sucks. read more

It's been a while since I've been here and they now have new hours. Open a little earlier. And they moved the entrance and expanded the inside adding a lot more seating. Have a seat and they light a candle on your table. Henry was our server. He did an amazing job with his professionalism. Treated us well making the experience top notch. Zucchini frit was the appetizer. Delicious. Sausage and peppers Classico is what I had and I'd get it again and again. . Crispy fried shrimp was my guest choice and it too was over the top Super crispy and delicious. Very cool place to eat either formal or in formal. The pizza is very popular here too. The ambiance is pretty nice inside, but one loud family can ruin the experience quickly, which we had to deal with. The service is very friendly and helpful, and helped my wife pick out a dish that was cheese free. The food was very good! I went with the BBQ chicken pizza with the stuffed crust and my lawd they put pounds of cheese in that crust. It's a fork and knife pizza if you go with stuffed crust because it is very thin. For what it was, it was very good. I stuffed to finish it all myself. Dinged one star just because we both felt the pricing was a little steep, at $36 for my pizza and $32 for my wife's. read more

They have really good Italian food and the portions are very generous. 10/10 service from our waiter Henry he was very accommodating and helpful with menu choices. Finally found a restaurant in SPI that we loved! Everything else has been mediocre at best but we love the beech here so we come and now we have a favorite restaurant! The chicken florentine was delicious!! The hit feta cheese really added nice flavor and the pesto was the perfect flavor balance. The service was great! Came with my family of 7 on our first trip and first night at South Padre and loved the ambiance and food. We ordered a pizza, a calzone and pesto pasta. Every item on the table was delicious. Gabriella's has always been a go to whenever I visit SPI, I've always viewed this establishment with grand respect and is a place I enjoy coming with my family. In my 15 years of visiting, I've never had a problem with the service until today. One of the workers named Gavino "Gavin" assisted my family and I. At first the service was already approaching to not be as pleasant, when I asked for my change back it was obvious he kept looking for excuses to not give me my change. I understand inconveniences but it was clear that in this situation it was not the case. I believe that service is a huge important role, not just the food and ambiance. So I regard tipping with this perspective. Afterwards I responded to him in Spanish, therefore he responded very immaturely and ignorant asking if I spoke English in which I responded "yes". Gavin could have simply stated that he didn't understand Spanish and I could have accepted that. But instead, he says that we were in the United States and needed to speak English because it is the primarily language. It seems this isn't the first time Gavin had made such remarks as from what his co-workers expressed. Manager Jaime very professional apologized for this occurrence and do hope this doesn't repeat itself. read more

We had a lovely dinner here! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was really nice. The Oyster Rockefeller was amazing and the bread was fresh and tasty. I tried the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp -- it wasn't my favorite, but everything else made up for it. There were a few gnats, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. Ordered the ravioli for my entree... the ravioli itself was good as was the sauce except it was SMOTHERED in the sauce. I scraped it off of some of the ravioli as it was too much for me. Really disappointed with our recent meal here. It's been a favorite spot for years, when we visit SPI. Everything from the drinks and appetizer to our meal, was a let down. The Sangria tasted like a thickened grape juice, while the calamari was over cooked, yet not even crispy on the outside. Our pasta dishes were also Mediocre. Needless to say we won't be going back anytime soon, if ever. Really disappointing. We did at least, have a pleasant server. read more

When we visit SPI we always stop here the first night. The service and atmosphere is always great. I had the Chicken and linguine with a pesto sauce. It was very good and the pesto sauce with pine nuts amazing. My wife had the manicotti along with a Caesar salad and she loved it. My son had the Tortellini and daughter had the Ravioli and they both enjoyed their meals. Our server was Brandon who was very attentive, friendly and informative. Not a fan. Placed an online order here in the summer while on vacation. I ordered spaghetti, which was $29......for spaghetti and meatballs. The menu said one price but I'm thinking because we ordered online it increases the price. It was not very good. The meatball was hard and the sauce was very sweet. Noodles do not taste like they're made from scratch. I do love the salad though, delicious. It was easy to pick up so we didn't have a problem there. read more

The service was good. However as a guy who likes to eat. Never bring a salad out then 5 min later bring your meal. By the time I ate my salad my meal was kinda cold. The wife got the Caesar salad which she said was okay, a little too much dressing. I had a very delicious alfredo pasta with grilled chicken. In my top 10 for Alfredo!! I was warned ahead of time that service had declined after the remodel and that prices had increased. Higher prices would not have been an issue if the food and service were still worth it. Unfortunately, the problems started immediately at the hostess stand. We were seated and then completely ignored. A server eventually asked if we had been helped, then walked away without even offering to take a drink order. We sat there for about twenty minutes while watching other tables get attention. When a newly seated table was about to be helped before us, I finally went back to the hostess to complain. Her excuse was that they were very busy, which made no sense since our section was nearly empty. After another fifteen minutes of watching multiple servers question what was going on, we asked to speak to a manager. Instead of the manager showing up, they sent over a waitress to apologize. That alone says a lot. The manager could not even be bothered to apologize in person. Our order was extremely simple. One solo cheese pizza, one solo pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and jalapeños, and one large cheese and shrimp. Somehow, that still got messed up. The pizza that was supposed to have pepperoni came out without it and instead had green onions. Apparently pepperoni and green onion are interchangeable now. When they took it back to fix it, they clearly just threw pepperoni on top, leaving the green onion we never asked for. Offering free dessert completely missed the point. This was not about compensation. It was about incompetence, poor communication, lack of accountability from management, and staff who clearly were not paying attention. Skip this place. You can find better service and better attention elsewhere. The food was mediocre at best. They may have remodeled the building, but the service, management, and quality have all gone downhill. read more

Excellent pizza. My sister and I are here from Albuquerque to celebrate her 60th birthday. We went on a dolphin excursion last night and decided afterwards to try take out pizza from Gabriella's. We ordered the supreme which consisted of pepperoni, Italian sausage, black olives, red bell pepper, mushrooms, and onion. It was delicious! We had a large size and had it again tonight for dinner. It included a dinner salad and bread. My sister went in and picked it up but she said the service was very friendly. Since it was take out and I did not go in I can't really say what the ambiance was like but I can vouch for how delicious the pizza was. The next time I come to South Padre Island I will definitely be coming back to Gabriella's! read more
