My family has been going to this dental group for around 20 years for all our dental needs. Mostly for cleanings as we all have very good teeth. Had a scheduled cleaning appointment down and was advised that I needed a Panoramic Xray at the cost of approx. $500.00. or would not be seen! Explained that we are retired and on a fixed income and this was out of the financial reach for us. Stated that the regular x-ray was affordable for our budget. Guidelines from the American Dental Association state that x-rays are accumulate over time and dentist should must weigh the risk for x-ray exposure. We have a history of good oral health with this Group and disappointed that they refused to clean and take original X-rays. Wow, what a way to treat a long time family customer! read more

I was a patient of Gainesville Dental Group for several years. During that time, unfortunately, I overlooked several questionable decisions and business practices by this office as I just wanted a dependable cleaning and check-up. When they started giving me a new 3-D x-ray (not covered by my dental insurance) and charged me --- without prior notice --- I looked the other way. When they randomly sent me a bill for $26 in the mail several months after my last cleaning, I paid it and went on with my life. When they made me pay a $25 cancellation fee because I was stuck in traffic (at which time I notified the office prior to my appointment) I gritted my teeth (ha-ha, irony) and paid it. I just didn't want to be bothered with having to start over at a new dentist. This is what they count on --- collecting from your insurance and your pocket while your life is too busy for you to look closely. In the end, it appears this constant and consistent cheating of their patients and insurance companies has paid off big time --- they have recently opened a brand-new, state of the art, comfortable, well decorated and ventilated dental facility in Gainesville. I imagine Gainesville Dental Group will continue to gouge its patient's pockets with unnecessary and unexplained procedures. I finally decided enough is enough. The cost of dental insurance is already high enough --- fueled by greedy corporations like this one --- to necessitate emptying your pockets every time you just want your teeth cleaned. I'd recommend choosing another dentist than Gainesville Dental Group and investigating their business practices before you become a patient. read more

I have been going here for a couple of years and I could not be happier with their service and professionalism. Dr Jetter has been the most gentle, caring Dentist I have ever had. First visit was today; my old dentist no longer accepts my insurance. I went to Aspen Dental last week and wow that place is disorganized chaos. I felt like I was on an assembly line - no friendly service whatsoever and their prices?? Crazy high! (don't go there) But Gainesville Dental Group was amazing today. My hygenist was Stephanie - awesome, thorough, but gentle. And Dr. Ta is real! She's funny, she was honest, didn't try to "upsell" other services, but was realistic at what these old teeth of mine need to keep them in my mouth and working well. Literally worst dentist I've ever been to. Dr Gannon is horrible at crowns and identifying problems. Had both his crowns fall off multiple times. They don't last. He cannot fit them correctly. Horrible at getting it to fit. When he's done your new tooth is good for a few months. Get it fixed under warranty but it's still the same bad dentist putting in another. Won't last. More concerned where you get your shorts from for his karate than anything. Definitely did not have the proper training. Quote from my dentist who fixed both of Gannons screwup's.. Bad experience with this dental office today 7/23/24. My wife had a crown come off for the second time! I know this can happen, but not twice within 5 years and to be charged just to have it glued back on is ridiculous. The outrageous part is the receptionist tried to tell us that that crowns are only good for about 5 years (I've had crowns for 30+ years) and another patient in the same office stated he had never had a crown pop out. Any way let me tell you how deceptive the receptionist was....when she stated that crowns last only about 5 years, I had her look at my wife's chart and she said she had her crowns done in 2016 and 2017 (outside this bogus 5 year limit), however, little did she know I had already called the office prior and gotten information that my wife had the crown put in place in 2019, within the magical 5 year guaranty. When I informed her of this fact she suddenly discovered her 2019 procedure, but still stuck to the 5 year absurd coverage for crowns and said I and the other patient, who also had never had a crown come out were blessed. So, let me end this post by saying if you do not want to be deceived by a receptionist, and want your crowns to last more than 5 years please go to another dental practice. read more

horrible experience. You never know who the dentist will be. Had a very painful molar. Offered NO RELIEF. Referred to another practice. I was asked 3 times if I had taken my 'pre-meds'??? I've never taken antibiotics for cleaning. ?? don't know what that was about. Asked about the 'jaw pain'. huh?? haven't had jaw pain. Not sure they had the right patient chart. I had my semi annual cleaning with Keagan and she was very gentle and patient. I was so glad to find a new dental tech as my former tech had left this practice and I have such sensitivity that I was worried about finding a new person. Fortunately, Keegan was great! Unprofessional. I scheduled an appointment the week prior and gave them my insurance info. They said they take Cigna dental, so I scheduled my day off from work and I was going to go to the dentist appointment. Got called 1 HOUR before my appointment with Kim the receptionist saying "we don't take Cigna HMO dental coverage". Why the hell wasn't I told that when I called and gave them my insurance info? The same "Kim" was the one who told me they accepted Cigna Dental. So long story short - I took off the day from work for a dentist appointment, they call me an hour before said appointment that they can't use my insurance after they already told me they could use my insurance. Unprofessional staff. I advise looking elsewhere if you're looking for a dentist in Gainesville. read more

The worst dental group ever. The front staff was very friendly and even the assistant was but when we finally got to the dentist she said we had early gum disease she made fun of that I had two spaces in my teeth and that we didn't use the right toothpaste etc. etc. We will never return there. We think she just wanted to upsurge our insurance but we are not going to be guinea pigs. We have a change of insurance but we have always gone to the dentist twice a year and still do not have those problems she mentioned. And since that visit we have returned to a different dentist and it was confirmed that she was wrong. Also all we came in for was a cleaning and she advised us that we had to come back another time to get a cleaning after we get approval from our insurance. Our insurance said that was not true and we should've gotten our cleaning then. So our time was wasted and then they went ahead and made other appointments for us that we did not know about until we got notification. I kindly called the office and canceled. First impression: front desk employee was sucking on a lollipop, so that was super professional. The hygienists equipment was way behind the technological curve. And the very young looking (good for him) dentist had a very superior than you attitude. Obviously fresh out of school and he quoted his textbooks more than once. They didn't let me see my X-rays or really explain much and at checkout the employee had a pile of almonds on her desk...not in a container or on a paper towel..just hanging out amongst the paperwork. Having worked in medical offices I can overlook newb doctors and old school equipment..but lollipops and food in the work area is just too gross for me. The kicker though is how my husband and I were charged $30 different for a cleaning and $30 different for the exam...curious. read more

I went to Dr. Vetter years ago and he did a root canal , I think I was his first. He took multiple x-rays during that visit which I was uncomfortable with. I had another dentist put a crown over it as I was not too impressed with Dr. Vetter. It has been sensitive since and sometimes painful. I regret going to him and would not recommend him. I am writing this review today because that tooth is painful today. I was eating cereal this morning and it hurt to use that side of my mouth. I would get it redone but I just can't afford to get the root canal and a new crown. read more

Officie staff was nice. I liked the hygienist very much. The assistant was sub par. Had me drowning , told me 3 or 5 minutes to wait for crown mold. Came to take out the stuff and said "it wasn't much more than what I told you". Then, it has been about 8 weeks since my crown and it has come off . I've never had a crown come off. I should have suspected something when they gave me a form that showed a graduated list of how they handle crowns that go bad. First year, totally guaranteed, then you have to pay some every year after the first. I wouldn't recommend this dental group. read more

So I don't usually give reviews but due to my situation I feel maybe I will help future people looking for a dentist in Gainesville. I had work done here a few months back and although they seemed like nice people I had a dental plan worked out with them in writing and once all work was done and signed off with payment of full amount with insurance paid for they contacted me months later with a bill for $178. Now I don't think it is good practice to wait months later to bill someone saying insurance didn't cover it all when I asked several times if it was all covered once all work was done. I feel this is not an honest company and for that I would never refer anyone here. Come on guys do better business! I wil not pay and will be turning the bill over to my insurance company along with all my paper work showing the dental plan I received from the dental group. I know it's only $178 but principal is I won't be bullied to pay something I don't owe. Becareful if you do choose this company but I think you'll be better off passing. read more

Dr. Gannon did a repair of my partial without sending it out, and the hygienist, Jody, made getting my teeth cleaned a pleasant experience. We are a new patient for my wife and I having recently moved to the area. Setting up the appointment was an simple and easy. To get a new patient appointment was within a reasonable time period. They acknowledged acceptance of my insurance over the phone. My wife and I arrived at the office and completed the necessary paperwork for a new patient. The reception staff was friendly and knowledgeable. As soon as we completed the paperwork our dental hygienists took us straight back and conducted a thorough exam, X-rays and cleaning. I was happy we didn't have to come back or reschedule for the cleaning. Dr. Vetter conducted his exam and explained our dental needs in detail. He had the insurance clerk work up a cost estimate for some cosmetic dental work we requested and the cost was very reasonable. My wife and I are very happy and satisfied with our experience with the staff and Dr. Vetter. We are glad we made the choice for Gainesville Dental Group for our dental needs. read more
