Super nice staff. I started experiencing tooth pain last night I called the next morning and was able to not only be seen that afternoon. It turned out I had an exposed nerve and they were able to give a full root canal and crown. They don't disappoint, and every single employee does a great job at accommodating your needs as well as being kind. I had my fillings done by Dr.Richard and his assistant Samantha. Hi. I had a wonderful experience at Lake Lanier Smiles ("LLS") when I had multiple various extractions, wisdom teeth removed, fillings, adult braces, Zoom Whitening and more over the course of about 6 months. The prices were GREAT, the staff was friendly, competent, efficient, and well... generally exceptional. Their care was to the level that I kept driving back up from East Atlanta for cleanings. Unfortunately, in years past, Dr. Edwards and the staff I came to enjoy have left the practice. I tried to be loyal to LLS, scheduling cleanings to keep the relationship alive, but the appointments have all recently been rescheduled by LLS, to the point that I've went +1 year since my last one. So here comes the complaint... The day I had my braces removed, LLS took an impression of my new smile, which is/was used to make a plastic retainers. I was informed that perfect impression would be forever available at LLS, or mailed to me if the practice came to fail. Anyway, over time I would get new retainers as the old ones would stretch, typically when I went in for cleanings. I've needed a new retainer for months, and with each rescheduled appointment, my teeth shift farther due to the stretched-out plastic retainer. This should be no problem, right. I just need to make my way in to get a new retainer made from the original impression made the day I had my braces removed. But unfortunately, that's not the case. Following the departure of Dr. Edwards et al, I was today informed that the new doctors and staff decided to discard my impressions. They welcomed me to come get new impressions for the price of $199, of which then they could make me a new retainer. Because my goal was to try and "retain" the shifting of my teeth following all the rescheduled appointments and discarded record of my dental impressions (sarcasm). Not quite the case. So, as you're probably thinking, if I want to get my teeth back to form of that original perfect impression; I'll need to get braces again, or pay for one of those mail-order services. Either option costs $3000 to $5000. Which leads me to the questions... if LLS is in the business of dentistry and understands just how important such impressions are to their patients, why on earth would they think it is acceptable to throw something like that away, especially for a customer that has recent activity with the business, even if it's just appointments LLS rescheduled. I originally gave this place a 5 star review, but have since changed my opinion. Every single time I go there, they claim to know how much I'm supposed to spend with insurance, but end up getting the price incorrect in the long run. The first time it happened, I actually overspent, so I had a credit on my account. Only slightly annoying, but better than underspending and it was nice to have the credit. The second time, they were $680 under and sent me a random invoice! I don't have $680 just lying around, so was extremely frustrated to receive this invoice. I won't go back because they obviously don't understand how to make insurance claims correctly. They are great at dentistry, but it's not worth it to me to receive random high bill invoices. read more

This place is terrible! They are unprofessional, unethical, unorganized, and incompetent. They perforated my nose, they charged me $900 more then they originally signed me off on. I was really worried that my scaling/deep cleaning was going to hurt, BUT OMG the only thing I felt was the little discomfort from the numbing injection. I had the top and bottom right side done at the same time and I am soooo glad I went ahead and got it over with! Dr Edwards was super duper nice and professional and the wonderful woman who did my cleaning (sorry I can't remember her name) was the best ever! She did not hurt me at all and now Im looking forward to getting my left side done. read more

I have found my new permanent dentist!!! I won't go anywhere else ever again. This office is wonderful and I suggest everyone to give them a chance. I shamefully haven't been to a dentist in several years. I went to a local and left there with a treatment plan of several thousand dollars and a lot of bad news. After shopping around for nearly two weeks to get a send opinion, I found Lake Lanier Smiles and they had the most reviews equaling a higher rating overall, which if you have review shopped for a dentist you know is a big deal. Not only that, they have reviews dating back for years, not just recently. So I called the the office and spoke with Mercedes and she was so nice and understanding about my anxiety. The office went over pricing options and explained the ins and out to me(I have no insurance so I wanted to have an idea of what to expect). During the appointment the office ladies were wonderful and polite. They assistants and hygienists were great and efficient. Dr. Edwards was wonderful! She made me a new treatment plan and explained it in depth. She alleviated all the previous anxieties and I already have an appointment scheduled to go back and get all of my work done. I was in extreme pain and they took me first thing this morning. The staff was comforting and accommodating. We quickly agreed on a game plan and the Dr. worked me into her schedule. She was attentive to her other patients as well. Fair pricing, clean office and easy to find.
