I was previously going to a dentistry in winder and had a terribly experience. I haven't gone since then and they recommended Oakwood smiles. Upon walking in, it was a very aesthetically pleasing and clean office. The staff was very friendly and did the most to make sure that I was comfortable after my bad experience with another dentistry. The doctor did a wonderful job taking care of me and so did the hygienists. Compared to the other dentistry it is a night and day experience and I 100% recommend Oakwood smiles!!! read more

Dr Gritsiv did a crown on me and I must say his work is perfection. Numbing was not for hours on end after I left, pain or discomfort was at zero. He and Gabby his asst. were very caring and professional. Gabby was an amazing comfort and also well trained at what she does. Front desk very welcoming & professional. I think when I got married to my husband, I had put less effort into researching him than when it came to researching a new Dentist. We moved to the Gainsville area about a year ago and were desperate for a new family Dentist. When you compare the marriage thing with finding a dentist, I figure you can always leave the husband at home but your smile will always be the first thing people notice about you. And for the record, I do love my husband dearly and knew quickly what a great gem he was (no research needed)........so here we go....new place......no dentist.......How do you find a good one........Since my occupation is in the medical field, I knew that I wanted a dentist that invests in his own business and has the newest advances and technology. I literally read every review and profile of every dentist around and none can come close to Dr. Gritsiv. There is a special machine that only a few dentists have in this area --- it is called a Cerec machine and in dentistry, it is a game-changer. The Cerec machine is extremely expensive and requires extensive training and in the Gainsville area, only two or three dentists have this machine. If you compare dentists to vehicles, a regular dentist would compare to riding a bicycle while a Cerec Dentist is driving a Tesla. Both will get you to the final destination but the process with a Cerec Doctor is much faster and when you arrive at your final destination you look much better after riding a Tesla for 50 miles than driving your bicycle. The Cerec machine can make a crown or overlay in minutes and looks and fits better. No more nasty impressions, temporary fillings, and unsightly marks, once finished it is completely indistinguishable from your real teeth. What makes Oakwood Smiles such a great Dental office, is a combination of an extremely talented dentist, completely painless procedure, top-of-the-line technology, wonderful staff with a truly caring attitude, and a beautiful office. Most importantly, I trust Dr. Gritsiv explicitly and he only recommends a treatment plan that is truly in line with the condition of your teeth. He was able to take care of the cavity, create a new crown, attach it and examine and clean my teeth all in the same visit. I was overjoyed with him, his staff and the whole office environment. I have never walked in the door without a greeting, by name, from the staff. The office is beautiful and feels more like you're waiting in a spa, not a dentist office. Tammy does a wonderful job of working with you on billing and insurance. The hygienists there know what they are doing, and they make getting your teeth cleaned a painless process. They are conscientious in their work but keep the mood light. That's helpful for a nervous patient. Your smile will never look brighter. Dr. Gritziv is the best of the best. After not going to the dentist for probably close to 15 years I figured I needed to man up and start doing the adult thing of having my teeth checked on a regular basis. I asked some co-workers who they recommended and a few said Oakwood Smiles. I figured why not since it was just a mile from work. Wow, what a great place and fantastic staff and such an awesome Doc! First of all, everything is state-of-the-art. It's not like the dentist I used to go to waaaaay back in the day. It's all new equipment. I didn't have to fill out any papers, it was all electronic. Even if I didn't work a mile from the office I would drive out of my way to come to Oakwood Smiles. They all kinds of awesome! Especially Tammie, she rocks! read more

The dentist is extremely nice and has very new and impressive technology. The office is clean and very comfortable. Unfortunately the bad that you must deal with out weights all the good. The bad is Tammy, she works the front desk and handles the insurance and billing. From the start she was rude on the phone and very short with her answers to my questions. Then my husband had an appointment and after when it was time to pay he had a question about the bill because it seemed off, because his mouth was numb he was talking funny and she cut him off and said 'I can't understand you just pay and call me later.' The issue came up again when we got our bill, yes the bill we had already paid. More later... So then I had my appointment, this time I asked to pay before hand so I actually talk to her if I had questions. She rolled her eyes and she said she would take my payment during my visit. And yep she sure did she came after everything had started and my mouth was full of fingers. Came in with an attitude told me my bill and took my card. Rude Rude Rude! Now back to that bill which is now bills, somehow the insurance estimate was wrong way wrong and now we own the dentist a hefty check. Not happy! So I work in Oakwood at a fairly large company so I asked around if others had the same experience and sure enough everyone likes the dentist but has left his office because of Tammy. I would go back in a second if she left otherwise her attitude and bad billing isn't worth it. read more
