Bill and his helper came to assist in fixing my AC. Both Bill and his helper were very nice, but they were unable to help get my AC fixed. Yesterday I received an invoice for the work, it was $772 . The labor was charged at $125 per hour for Bill and $75 per hour for his helper. The helper, while being a nice guy, was a very low level employee. So I was paying $200 per hour and they fixed nothing. I will pay this bill but hope that this review saves someone else from making the same mistake I did. read more

This is a terrible business. They underbid and try to upcharge you for their misses. I feel sorry for Gainsley's employees, who are very good and competent. I've experienced situations where they were arguing with Bill Gainsley about doing the job correctly and having him berate them. I manage several properties in Ann Arbor and will never contract with them again. read more

I have used Gainsley when needing someone to fix a problem and I have been very pleased. Most recently, house was struck by lightning which caused damage and needed an electrician to perform a continuity check of the whole house before DTE would turn power back on and replace three blown up electric meters--plus a line to hot water heater. I never hesitate to call them and recommend them to others. read more

Waited nearly a month to have them come out on a minor electrical issue - tenant reported 2 non working electrical outlets. Scheduled, they didn't make it out the day of the appointment but kept us on standby, then cancelled and rescheduled for later in the week. Then had a big job, so they sent 2 guys on the way to the big job and charged for 2 electricians for a 1/2 hour job. -- ended up both outlets were live, no wiring issue, GFCI outlet had been painted so that it wasn't working properly - they replaced it and charged a wopping $192.00. Some times they are wonderful, but then they do things like this. Sad to say -this is my last time using them. I can't afford an electrician who is my friend when things are slow, who is unavailable or stiffs me when things are booming for them. read more

I really had a nice experience with them recently. I had an issue that needed to be checked out and they were able to book a convenient appointment for me within just a couple days. It turned out there was no big issue but of course it's a minimum 1 hour of labor; the electrician was able to look at a bad electric outlet that was mis-wired and get that fixed for me in the same trip. Very affordable and great, friendly service even though it was just a small repair. read more
