They gifted us a mussels stuffed with seasoned rice. My wife enjoyed them very much. She usually likes mussels, but she said she really enjoyed them in this style. My wife had the gyro with ezme sauce inside. She said she would order this again. She enjoyed it very much, the ezme brightened up the flavors. Though I preferred the kibbeh. Super authentic food, flavorful in every bite! Well seasoned, but not too spicy. The pita and Lamacun were not overlooked, and the lamb had a perfect smoky char. The seating area was well decorated, but still feels relaxed and casual. I would say it's flexible to work for an impromptu group meal, date, or more casual lunch. Just had my husband's 50th dinner there. The owner accommodated seating for 16 people at last minute. The service was on point, the food was outstanding, 10 out of 10!! As we put in the order for 16 people, we did large family portions. The owner actually came out to tell us he thought we were ordering too much food. We went with his recommendations and he was absolutely right! After downsizing the portions, many of us still had plenty to take home. What other restaurant owner would do that? (At the end, the bill averaged out to about 60per person- absolutely worth every penny!) They allowed us to decorate before hand, including using the walls. A group of 16, not one person left unhappy- with this group, THATS REMARKABLE! Just fyi.. typically I'm an absolute pain in the ass when it comes to dining out, a cooks worst nightmare- I'm so picky. Best middle eastern falafel and baba ganoush I ever ate (tasted like my brother in law's mother, Rica's, most delicious version). It was as fresh and homemade and delicious as hers, which is the biggest complement as she is among the best cooks I know. The hummus was delicious, too. I think it was the first time in my life ever eating a falafel like that, fresh cooked greens inside and a thin crispy fried exterior. It was served in the freshest bread pita with fresh delicious salad. It was light and moist and balanced in flavors and textures. I never imagined it tasting this good!! I was not even hungry and my one bite ('taste') ended up becoming more than half the sandwich unfortunately for my husband. He kept telling me that this is how falafel is supposed to taste like, having been to several middle eastern countries in his travels and eating the real deal. But I always pictured these dry balls that are 3/5 dried fried coating and a brownish 'vegetable' center of chickpeas and not resembling those either. At least that was the common variant I was used to eating, and not loving. Now that I am vegetarian and eating my beloved Turkish food (previously I would eat the beef or chicken kabobs or fall-off-the-bone lamb stewed with rice), the cold appetizers and falafel were my current go to. And here, at this wonderful restaurant, these dishes did not disappoint given the fresh. homemade, and flavorful food. I would drive the 30-45 min from my home for this meal any day! Food does not come with any sauce, however you can ask for hot sauce or yougurt sauce if you want They do have seating outdoors. My only complaint is I wish they divided smoking n non smoking tables. They have things on the menu that are hard to find, like tripe soup and another item that was called "Sweetmeat" on the updated menu. The sweetmeat is lamb-neck meat and the way they cook it up is wild. It has a light and creamy taste and makes you want to cry tears of joy. The Chicken was a little on the dry side; overcooked for my taste, and the lamb was way overcooked. The rest of the place was fine except for the onion salad. I didn't care for that. I would rather have a side of shepherd's salad, which is now extra charge. My advice for the owner... don't assume all people love to eat well done meat; ASK them how they like it. This place is a butcher shop, mini store and restaurant. The variety of seasoned meats look delicious. I had the Adana kabob sandwich and a mix platter. A bit salty on the sandwich, but the taste is good. It's different than what I'm used to for middle eastern kabobs.
