Do you wanna try true Turkish food that is prepared by sticking with the original recepies? This is the place to go! We were party of 3 who live.in different states and met in New Jersey. We wanted to give this place a try since we all miss Turkish food. We were greated warmly when we stepped in. We ordered bunch of mezes and some mains. There was nothing we did not like. Actually we were really impressed by how they could taste as good as you could get in Turkey. Our waiter was very kind, professional and friendly. He was very attantive and he did not miss any service steps. Over all ambience makes you feel like you are in a local restaurant in Turkey and i can tell both food and the place were very clean! It was a really good experience and strongly recommended!

So we ordered the mix grill for 5 people and that filled us up. Now for a butcher place , the smell isn't bad at all. The meat (lamb/ beef) tasted okay. Should have been seasoned and marinated more , but the chicken was amazing. My family did like Al Basha a little bit more though. That's the reason for the 4 stars.

Less than mediocre ambiance, service below average and not attentive at all. At least 5 servers passed by our table but none stopped. Order wait is longer than usual. We ordered mixed grill for two for $89, however it had a very skimpy selection of prime meats mostly kofta skewers and it was very dry as if it was reheated couple of times. Not recommended.

We've been here a few times since they are open late. My friends and I will specifically crave their chicken and adana kebabs. Super authentic food, flavorful in every bite! Well seasoned, but not too spicy. The pita and Lamacun were not overlooked, and the lamb had a perfect smoky char. The seating area was well decorated, but still feels relaxed and casual. I would say it's flexible to work for an impromptu group meal, date, or more casual lunch. Warning that the plate portions are huge, and priced accordingly. I would split a platter for sure with one or two friends. The wraps are filling and affordable, if I lived closer they would be a regular lunch order. read more

They gifted us a mussels stuffed with seasoned rice. My wife enjoyed them very much. She usually likes mussels, but she said she really enjoyed them in this style. My wife had the gyro with ezme sauce inside. She said she would order this again. She enjoyed it very much, the ezme brightened up the flavors. Though I preferred the kibbeh. After I ate the kibbeh here I told our server that this was the best kibbeh I've ever had. I thought it was some newer style recipe. I WAS TOLD THAT GRANNY MAKES THIS IN THE BACK. I don't know how long granny has been making this to perfect the kibbeh, but I 100% will come back and order this again. Very nice staff. Exceptionally clean tables and restaurant. read more

Had an event to go and we're late for dinner. At late night we found this place. The soups were delicious. The Turkish meatballs were yummy. The Turkish pizza was okay. Service needs a lot of improvement- The store looked ok, the ambiance was not that great. read more

I was recommended the Iscandar Kabab was horrible., disguising and over prices for horrible taste, This is was my second time there both time I grade these people a zero not even a one star. Very expensive for low quality meat they sale. read more

Best middle eastern falafel and baba ganoush I ever ate (tasted like my brother in law's mother, Rica's, most delicious version). It was as fresh and homemade and delicious as hers, which is the biggest complement as she is among the best cooks I know. The hummus was delicious, too. I think it was the first time in my life ever eating a falafel like that, fresh cooked greens inside and a thin crispy fried exterior. It was served in the freshest bread pita with fresh delicious salad. It was light and moist and balanced in flavors and textures. I never imagined it tasting this good!! I was not even hungry and my one bite ('taste') ended up becoming more than half the sandwich unfortunately for my husband. He kept telling me that this is how falafel is supposed to taste like, having been to several middle eastern countries in his travels and eating the real deal. But I always pictured these dry balls that are 3/5 dried fried coating and a brownish 'vegetable' center of chickpeas and not resembling those either. At least that was the common variant I was used to eating, and not loving. Now that I am vegetarian and eating my beloved Turkish food (previously I would eat the beef or chicken kabobs or fall-off-the-bone lamb stewed with rice), the cold appetizers and falafel were my current go to. And here, at this wonderful restaurant, these dishes did not disappoint given the fresh. homemade, and flavorful food. I would drive the 30-45 min from my home for this meal any day! Thank you so much for making such delicious food from the heart with love and passion! The people were so kind as well. We hope to return soon! There is outdoor seating! And the food travels well as it is so fresh! read more

This place is nice , food is tasty but serving portions are little small for the price. We ordered rib eye steak with french fries (23$) and chicken kebab wrap (5.95$) . Food does not come with any sauce, however you can ask for hot sauce or yougurt sauce if you want They do have seating outdoors. My only complaint is I wish they divided smoking n non smoking tables. People sitting outside smoke cigarettes n everyone is exposed to secong habd smoking. A lot many people customers smoke here. I hated this as I have a 18 months toddler baby. read more

Ended up here late at night because it was the only place open and so glad for it. They have things on the menu that are hard to find, like tripe soup and another item that was called "Sweetmeat" on the updated menu. The sweetmeat is lamb-neck meat and the way they cook it up is wild. It has a light and creamy taste and makes you want to cry tears of joy. Inside is clean and spacious and is in that newish plaza that makes you feel like you're in the Middle East. read more

This but her shop/ restaurant is our go to late night spot. I love everything about this place. The staff is sweet and always accommodating. The food is fresh and always tasty. We leave their entrees but I always stop in for my favorite stuffed mussels and Turkish tea. After traveling to turkey one of their street foods are these stuffed mussels. I have not been to single Turkish restaurant that serves this except for Galata. Give this place a try and you won't regret it. read more

I was the first reviewer of this restaurant and this time, I am reducing my rating by one star! You may ask why, and I'll tell you... I ordered a mixed grill plate which came with the famous Adana Kabab, chicken Kabab pieces and lamb Kabab. The Adana was very delicious as always... they have perfected it. The Chicken was a little on the dry side; overcooked for my taste, and the lamb was way overcooked. The rest of the place was fine except for the onion salad. I didn't care for that. I would rather have a side of shepherd's salad, which is now extra charge. My advice for the owner... don't assume all people love to eat well done meat; ASK them how they like it. Other than that, the staff were very pleasant, and attentive to every detail. We asked for Ice and it came in very polished glasses on a tray... Wow! read more

This place is a butcher shop, mini store and restaurant. The variety of seasoned meats look delicious. I had the Adana kabob sandwich and a mix platter. A bit salty on the sandwich, but the taste is good. It's different than what I'm used to for middle eastern kabobs. If you're looking for seasoned meats to grill at your home I def recommend buying some of the meats here. read more

Beautiful presentation, delicious food, and the most gracious of owners. One of the best Mixed Grill options of any Mediterranean restaurants I have gone to. Charcoal enhances the flavor over gas cooked food. And the tres leches was flavorful. And they have sugar cubes for their tea! It is also one of the cleanest halal butcher shops. read more

It tasted meh. The only thing I was happy with are the prepackaged taralli. They were imported and were lovely. Go there for the prepackaged imported food products. Don't waste your money on the dicey homemade food experience.

The prices are a bit high but there are not many Iraqi restaurants in the region.

AMAZING food, hands down but with all honesty this place got the best and most fresh meat right from the grip to your table, supper fast service and the server was very pleasant to deal with. We had the mix plater and it was supper delicious. After we were done with the food the owner came out himself and served us desert on the house. What an amazing experience.
