It reminds me of the must go to sandwich shop in Rome Italy called "All'Antico Vinaio" restaurant... it's a neighborhood hood sandwich shop that also sells limited Italian groceries too. There's many sandwich styles to choose from and I had the Anna Maria and it was excellent. The fresh meat cut for your sandwich is piled on and the other ingredients speak for themselves as the flavors keep you wanting more. I asked if I could change the hot pepper spread for the sweet "No Problem ". The service is top notch! YUM! My friends and I stopped at this deli before going to a Giants game and it was such a good stop! They have a variety of breads and preset sandwich options plus the ability to make your own. Wow, this was such a cool little deli. The staff were friendly and the ingredients were all fresh. They had a variety of bread to choose from and a huge menu of sandwiches. I ordered the Lidia and my copilot ordered the Napoli. We both ordered them just how they make it and we ate them on the flight home a few hours later. My sandwich was delicious and massive. Both of us only ate half of it and brought the other half home with us. My copilot had the focaccia bread and it definitely got soggy by the time he ate it but that's not their fault. If you want a sandwich loaded with meat then you need to come here! Ordered an Annamaria and Patsy with mortadella added, Louie, and a Napoli. All were great, but my Patsy was the fave. Salami and mortadella added, fresh mozz, marinated artichoke pieces and olive spread. Can't beat pricing either as mine was $11 and could only eat half. My only suggestion is to ask for oil and balsamic to be put on the side if you plan on eating them later so the bread doesn't get soggy or arugula wilted. The Louie was a bit confusing as we were expecting real roasted chicken breast more like a grilled cutlet and it comes prepared more like deli sliced Turkey. Otherwise overall enjoyed! As I was leaving work, I'm thinking.... I could go for a good Deli sammich. I use my trusty Yelp app and I find Annamaria's. Small Italian Deli on the corner with street parking. Inside is very old school with a menu right to the point. Everything was ran like a well oiled machine as one person takes the order and another is immediately making up the sandwich. I got the Annamaria (cappicola, sopressata, salami, provolone, fresh mozz, arugula and hot peppers) and I got my wife the Nina (Roasted chicken breast, provolone, sweet peppers and arugula). Both sandwiches were phenomenal. We all know that the bread can make or break a sandwich and this Italian bread was EXCELLENT. The hot peppers complimented the fresh mozz amazingly. Both came with a balsamic glaze. It works, especially on the Annamaria; giving that little sweetness behind that spicy kick from the peppers. The Nina was MASSIVE. To the point that I was lucky enough to steal some of my wife's as she couldn't come close to finishing it. Big fan of Annamaria's Deli! Their sandwiches here are reasonably priced, very fresh and delicious, and good size! I've had the Annamaria and Hot Roast Beef sandwich here. The Annamaria sandwich was so good; one of the best "Italian" sandwiches I've had. The Hot Roast Beef was really good too. I appreciated that the roast beef was cut fresh on the spot. The beef au jus/gravy was solid, but there was more fat than preferred on the roast beef so it made the sandwich a little too chewy for my liking. Staff was super friendly and the sandwiches were wrapped in high-quality wrapping paper (which is not a given at many sandwich shops). If they could add a solid standing hot sandwich menu, I think it could elevate this deli even further! Can't wait to go back! read more

Absolutely delicious. My first time here I asked for their recommendations on 3 sandwiches. The men behind the counter were super super friendly and helpful. He even told me which breads to try out with which sandwiches. Everything was perfect, the cold cuts all sliced impossibly thin, the fresh mozzarella deliciously made, the fresh bread toasty, really there are no complaints here. A word of advice... don't walk in and ask out loud why they have so many Italian soccer scarves but not your team's - AS Roma. (The very cool crew behind the counter raised their eyebrows, started to speak Italian and I'm pretty sure they were goofing on me. And I don't blame them.) Another word of advice... if you dig Italian food (and who doesn't?!) - you need to make your way here. The last biz that was here was tired and rundown and now you walk in and it's vibrant, clean, smells amazing, they have Italian music playing in the background, the shelves and fridges stocked with all sorts of imports. And the food? We tried a few of their specialty sandwiches (they automatically got another star from me for not offering mayo) on top of their meatballs, breads, pasta and veggies. Oh man, this spot is just SO GOOD. My husband and I have hit up Annamaria's Deli multiple times for lunch when we are working remote and it is just the highlight of the day. I've yet to have a bad sandwich from here. All of their ingredients are so fresh and many of them are imported from Italy. Some of the sandwiches I've had are the Annamaria, Louie, Funzy, Nonna, and the really super delicious Tommaso - which uses imported Italian tuna. All of these sandwiches were to die for, and the best part? They definitely do NOT skimp on the meat or cheese! Just order the Annamaria and you will know what I'm talking about. It is piled high! The wheat bread they use is especially delicious too - nice and crunchy and holds the sandwich together well - no meats and cheeses falling all over the plate in a goopy mess. The flavors of everything are just so so good. The prices are right. My husband always picks up the food and says they are quick, efficient, and friendly. Some of my favorites are the Napoli, chock full of prosciutto & soppressata, Filomena when I'm watching my heart health, roast beef with au jus. Very few places make Italian sandwiches this good. Such a special local find. Based on location and size you may not think much of annamarie's but you would be missing a delightful opportunity for flavorful food. DEFINITELY A MUST STOP in town. The sandwiches on the board all sound so delicious, it's hard to narrow it down. The combos of meat and cheese are endless. All the toppings and sides are FRESH. I tried the Katherina on rustico bread and was not disappointed. The peppers and artichoke combo was perfect. Not to mention the big slices of smokey mozz, which had a nice strong flavor.
