We stopped by one evening shortly before closing as I needed some deodorant. They did not have the brand I needed but found something comparable, I was surprised at how many folks were still coming into the store so late just before closing. The small parking lot was full! The folks were still very friendly -- even after a long day shift. And fast on the check out.

Lots of snacks, groceries, and accessories to choose from. If it had been later, we would have tried the chicken that looked tasty. We spotted fresh cookies: macadamia nut, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin. We got one of each for $1.69. Friendly cashier helped me with my cookie selection. They were delicious!! The men's bathroom needed toilet paper, and another cashier was accommodating with a new roll. Women's bathroom was fine. Instead of paper towels, there was a hand dryer in each. There was no sign on the door about masks or social distancing, but only a few people were in the store. Patrons wore masks. Employees did not wear masks.

This store in particular is fairly large with a pretty expansive format, but a lot of the merchandising left me confused. For instance, I was looking for lemonade, and I noticed that it is carried in 3 to 4 different locations across the produce juice and deli sections. It made it extremely frustrating trying to figure out whether or not they carried Milo's lemonade, which I eventually discovered they carried every milo's product except the lemonade??? Not really sure what the rationale behind that is given the lemonade is the most popular sku in the brand. Anyway, I digress. The second thing that I find a little challenging with Publix is understanding what the actual deals are standing at shelf. I couldn't really tell what was on sale, what wasn't and what the real values were. I'm assuming this information is probably buried in a sales flyer, which I probably need to pick up the next time. That being said, I found overall service in the store to be decent but even given the number of employees walking around in the store I don't think I've was ever really been greeted or offered help without asking first. Definitely a location and a brand that is going to have to grow on me.

Anyone who's stayed on either Seabrook or Kiawah Island is most likely intimately familiar with this Harris Teeter. On many visits, we've found this store to be relatively well-stocked. However, the week before Easter was definitely a busy one for this store, and they were cleaned out of a lot of their typical offerings. For example, their take-and-bake pizzas are an easy and decent dinner after a day at the beach, but to our surprise, there were none left when we stopped in around 5 PM on a Wednesday. I'm confident that this not a regular occurrence - but something to note if you're visiting during the busy season. I will echo other reviewers that mentioned narrow aisles and an interesting layout. This store is definitely on the smaller side, and can feel crowded when there's multiple people in one aisle. One way to avoid this is shopping outside of peak hours ... early in the morning our later at night. The cashiers are mostly friendly and always fast. If you come from a state with Kroger or Fry's instead of Harris Teeter, rest assured that you can still input your phone number for your shopper rewards. Another positive is that I haven't noticed a difference in prices from this store and non-touristy grocery stores. Again, it does the trick for being the only grocery store at Freshfields. However, it could certainly use a little love and a few updates.
