This is a supermarket with a bit of everything. As one of the few places like it on island, it was exceptionally busy. We stopped by one evening shortly before closing as I needed some deodorant. They did not have the brand I needed but found something comparable, I was surprised at how many folks were still coming into the store so late just before closing. The small parking lot was full! The folks were still very friendly -- even after a long day shift. And fast on the check out. read more

A great option if you are staying on the island. I got all the things I needed for the several days I was staying at an Airbnb on the island...coffee, coffee creamer, sunscreen, aloe, snacks. The staff was friendly and I was able to find everything I was looking for without having to go back in to Savannah or bringing it with me. read more

A local market with name brand items. With Being on an island prices are a bit higher. That or it is GA itself. The aisle are small but full of what you need. We have made more than one trip to the market and we have had a great experience. The ladies at the front have southern hospitality and personable. They were able to tell us about the local scene on fishing and tips for the area! read more

We are part-time Tybee Residents and have always appreciated the Island's IGA Market. They do a "good job" trying to keep Products on the Shelves. This is hard to do because of the constant stream of Visitors who come to the Island and Regular Shoppers. We especially like the Meat Department, which always has a good selection of excellent Filets. The Deli also has a good selection of homemade Items and good takeout Sandwiches. 5 Stars! I read complaints of price, selection, size etc. If you're used to island shopping or small town backwoods general store shopping this is it. However, they have fresh pink shrimp in a bus bin for about $10.00 a pound. This is a beautiful thing. This little grocery store, the only one on Tybee Island, always amazes me with the variety of merchandise, produce, canned goods and meats that they can pack in their store! You'll find what you need here! Today, during this Covid19 pandemic, they are taking extra precautions and giving everyone gloves to wear, and a numbered badge. I'm assuming the numbered badge is to keep track of the number of shoppers in the store. This little grocery can get PACKED with shoppers! This store is readily available on Butler ave. It can be difficult to find parking. We got beach necessities (chips, juice for kids, ceral, BEER). The beer wasn't cold (as though fridge section wasn't working properly). The beer selection is limited but it served its purpose. They had pre made subs for 7.99, we passed. There are pre made salads for 3-5 dollars. It is over priced but super convenient. It's like a step up from a 7-11. read more

Crummy grocery store with empty refrigerators and a musty feel as if it's only received occasional surface cleaning and maintenance over the years. The vending machines out front eat quarters but the staff shrugged it off and said it's been broken for awhile. A simple out of order sign would be considerate. I love locally-owned beach grocers, but this place is a fail. Poor bread selection, out of milk (!), NOT following basic Covid protocols and dirty. When I walked in, the woman at the register wasn't wearing a mask. As I left the store after buying some local butter (hence the star I'm giving this place!), the automatic door wouldn't open. I turned around to ask one of the 3 employees standing right behind me if it was working and one of the female employees said "oh, just pull the mat a little". Excuse me?? Pull the mat? A customer? The disgusting, dirty mat hundreds of people walk on...during Covid?? I was pretty outraged by the suggestion and walked out the wide open entrance instead, telling them "no thanks!". If you want to support businesses that are following smart, simple Covid protocols, then don't go here. They don't deserve your business. Get your groceries before you get to Tybee. Fail! read more

Visited 3 times during our stay to pick up a few items. Great location for walking, well stocked and friendly staff. Had no problem paying slightly more than big box stores for the convenience, local experience and friendly, laid back beach atmosphere. They had everything we needed and more. Just tried to go by an hour before closing and was turned away by an extremely rude employee blocking the entrance who said they were closed because they were short staffed. I pointed out that we only needed a bottle of cocktail sauce, and the man said "I don't care." He was dressed as if he likely works in the meat or seafood department. There were plenty of people inside so I'm confused as to why we could not just buy the single item we needed. I don't think the owner would be pleased to know they were turning away a full parking lot of people. It was a very busy Saturday night and you could not even park in the lot, yet they were turning away at least 20 people when we walked up. I understand being short staffed; we would have happily waited in a longer than normal line. Ridiculous. read more

There is a lady standing outside making everyone put in gloves and some kind of badge. Masks aren't required, but gloves are? No explanation for the badge, no idea what it said or the purpose. The lady handing the items out didn't have on proper protection herself... no thanks! We drove a few extra miles up the road to Publix they were VERY welcoming! read more

I was so pleased this past week when I saw how seriously they were taking the social distancing. The required masks to enter. They only allowed so many customers in the store at a time. They gave you hand sanitizer to use on entering. Then, a couple of days later or the weekend it was all over. No limits on customers. No masks required for customers or employees. No social distancing at all. Wow! I won't be back. It's not like the virus suddenly disappeared. Sad. read more

This is the first negative review I have ever left... DO NOT go here. I understand and respect COVID restrictions, but I stood in line for 30 mins before 9AM on a Sunday morning and witnessed two different families be spoken over by two employees and treated with such disrespect. There is no advertisement of this but you will wait the entire time in line and not be permitted to use the bathroom. Finally, the inventory is AWFUL-- produce is old or expired but full price, they will not have the staples let alone what you have in mind, and the cherry on top is you'll wait 20 more mins to pay for the crap you convinced yourself to buy in place of the ones on your list just because you survived the game or thrones to get in. DO NOT GO AND DO NOT SUPPORT BUSINESSES LIKE THIS. read more

When visiting Tybee Island, the IGA is where we go to grab groceries. Their fresh raw shrimp are very good when cooked to perfection. The IGA offers plenty of groceries to fulfill your needs while on Tybee. For a smaller grocery, they offer a large selection of cold beer. It is a small store and gets busy so bring your patience. read more

My mom and I went to get a few things to have in our hotel room, the lady outside yelled at everyone and wouldn't let more than one person inside from the same car. Masks aren't required but gloves are and everyone has to wear a numbered badge. None of the employees had gloves on but they required customers to wear them. The lady who checked me out was very rude and anytime a customer would talk to her she would cut them off or have an attitude back. I wasn't even finished getting my bags off the counter and she was ringing up the next customer and putting his bags on top of mine so I had to go through and figure out which ones were mine. I will not be going back here. Next time, we will make sure we stop somewhere else on the way to the island. read more
