It's the staff who make it or break it, in my experience at other locations. The St George store is just really good! The staff are ALWAYS kind and friendly and helpful when I shop there. It's never a matter of feeling like I am bothering the team members, and they are always around. This store has been going through some renos, clean-up and re-vamping and it shows! I can't wait to see the end result. There is ample parking, and even the parking lot is well-kept. There are always lots of carts. The store is bright, things are easy to find, prices are well marked and there is a great selections for a store this size. Prices are great (the in-house brands are easily compariable to brand-name). I also like the fact that on two occasions where I had a return or exchange, there were zero hassles, and the transaction was painless. Two thumbs up for these ladies and gentleman! This was one of the most cleanest Publix I've ever went to and loved just walking all through the aisles just observing the store. The shelves were clean no dust at all. They even asked if you needed any help finding things I guess because I looked lost because I was mesmerized. I wish I could move to Charleston because of the hospitality was so moving. For example, their take-and-bake pizzas are an easy and decent dinner after a day at the beach, but to our surprise, there were none left when we stopped in around 5 PM on a Wednesday. I'm confident that this not a regular occurrence - but something to note if you're visiting during the busy season. I will echo other reviewers that mentioned narrow aisles and an interesting layout. This store is definitely on the smaller side, and can feel crowded when there's multiple people in one aisle. One way to avoid this is shopping outside of peak hours ... early in the morning our later at night. The cashiers are mostly friendly and always fast. If you come from a state with Kroger or Fry's instead of Harris Teeter, rest assured that you can still input your phone number for your shopper rewards. Another positive is that I haven't noticed a difference in prices from this store and non-touristy grocery stores. Again, it does the trick for being the only grocery store at Freshfields. When I finally got their attention, they told me the scale was broken, which added more time to my wait. When I tried to buy some heated deli items instead, I found out there were none available, even though it was still early in the afternoon. She did provide me with the deli items. When I got home, I realized they gave me a pound of turkey instead of chicken, and it cost over $11. I'm not a fan of turkey, so I was very disappointed. I know that talking to the management won't help, as this store is the only one in town and seems to disregard customer concerns. I've also noticed expired items on sale and brought them to Customer Service, but they don't seem to take it seriously. I think the corporate office needs to investigate the situation at the Manning Walmart more closely.
