I would just like to start by saying that I am a young African American woman with dreads. That point will be significant later on. I really wanted to like this place, my mom and sister raved about their services. However, the way they treated me was horrendous. We arrive at our appointment for 2 pedis and a fill, and we wait for 30 mins to even be seated in the tub. My sister and I weren't even seated together even though they had an entire section of chairs that were unoccupied. He starts on my toes, and places a towel over my legs to "cover up". I was in a dress which was longer than some of the women in shorts. Those women I would like to point out were of a lighter color. After I refuse to sit there with a towel over my legs he gets annoyed. This manicurist then proceeded to do my toes, to say he was rough would be a understatement. He was grabbing my feet and my legs with such force. I say ow and pull away and he just grabbed them harder. His massage left literal bruises on my legs. I ended the massage early by saying "stop" firmly. That just further pissed him off. By the time this hellish ordeal of over, it's needless to say I was very pissed off. The second the manicure was over I was thinking "at least I get to sit in the chair and dry my toes". NOPE! He rushed me out of the chair the second we were done. Even though the other women were happily lounging in their chairs drying their toes. He then tried forcing my shoes on my feet. I snatched them out of his hand and told him to stop touching me. It is needless to say that the other women in this salon that were being treated with respect were of a lighter skin color. The fact that he believed that it was okay to treat a woman of color, or any woman for that matter, this way is nothing short of disgusting. I left feeling physically assaulted and singled out. I paid and did not leave him a tip. I will never be back again. There are PLENTY of other places in the area that know how to treat people of color. read more

Came in first thing this morning before ANYONE was here. I have been sitting here for 15 minutes waiting for someone to fix my nails. There are 3 people here. 2 people came in 10 minutes after I arrived for their appointment. They took them. And third person just walked in and they have already taken her too. I was seated by a lady and by later discovered that the person who took me was Diane and not mai by the time she started doing my nails. This is the only place I trust with my nails! Thanks Diane! ... I highly recommend this nail salon.. Update: I am so disappointed at Diane! Two weeks ago, When I showed up for a scheduled cut down nail appointment, I learned that she was out sick. In addition workers there, turned me down because they felt that I should wait for Diane to cut my nails, so I had to trim my own nails. Keep in mind that I've been getting my nails done for over 30 years, so I know how to do it myself. Once again I made an appointment to do my basic fills and I explained to Diane my experience at her salon and reasons why I trimmed them my self it. So, you would think I would've gotten an apology, for not being there for a scheduled appointment and furthermore, the lack professionalism in behalf of her employees that turned me away ( they were not busy ), therefore I had to take care trimmed my self. Nope, she snapped at me and scolded me with other customers in the shop because I cut one nail shorter that the other. And to add insult to injury, she charged me $40 for fills.. For poor quality job ! I cannot tell you how many times I have made appointments and waited I have for her to be done with other clients ( 25 minutes 45 minutes).. This appointing and never again! Called on my lunch break and notified the owner that I will be coming on my lunch break to get an my nails done and I have an hour. As soon as I walked in the owner acknowledged me and knew I was the one who called earlier. However I still waited about 10mins to get called. But they were still really nice on making everything quick for me knowing that I had to go back in an hour. I had pieces of acrylic stuck on my nails from last time that I was unable to remove, so the lady who was helping me she got a nail filer and removed it that way but going downwards instead of side to side..and going downwards she peeled off my skin on my fingers, so it now looks like i have 5 hangnails on each finger, and they are quite painful too as she removed my skin. Pretty upset about that. It is a very nice Salon, I would go back if I needed too, I would just be a little extra cautious next time. read more

I confess I did not expect to find a nice mani pedi place in Tracy- this place is such a surprise! Large, clean, 13 adult pedicure chairs and two kids ones. 8 manicure desks. New and really clean. Quality was amazing. They took their time, especially with the massaging. I chose the Champagne and Rose pedicure which also included the paraffin treatment. And SO MUCH MASSAGE! She was working it like acupressure, and I'm in heaven. The quality of the nail work was also top notch- even, thorough, nail color is even and perfect. I'm a very happy customer. read more

I would not recommend this place and all because of a bad experience, I almost never get my nails done but I went to my husbands Christmas party and I wanted my nails to look nice. I got them and they were uneven they started chipping the next day I'm not saying they are all bad at it , the ladies are nice and do a good job but the guys have a bad attitude. Tiffany did an AMAZING job!! I'm stunned, she is so incredibly gentle and precise. You can really tell she cares and she is putting her love into her work. She also made sure to greet everyone that walked in = great customer service. I've never felt so comfortable while having my nails done. I'm so used to getting my fingernails burned by the dremel or other pains that I figured it must be normal, you know the whole beauty is pain thing, but from this experience I now know that it doesn't have to be that way. Also the prices are great, I was surprised, because I got a pedicure with one color gel last week from a salon down the road and it was more expensive than this gorgeous manicure...like what?! I've been here a handful of times. Made an appointment and came in on a Monday afternoon for a Mani-pedi . All went fine although it took a while to get the pedicure started due to the lack of staff. All went routine. On Tuesday afternoon, I had developed a large blister on the side of my toe and it was beginning to be painful. By Wednesday at 5:30 AM I was on the phone with my healthcare provider! Went in to see my doctor later that morning and guess what? A full blown bacterial infection :-( I'm on round two of antibiotics and after more than a week, just now being able to walk without pain. This was NOT a cheap experience, this place does not use pedi-tub liners and no, I will not be going back to this salon. read more

Well i've never been more disappointed. I drive all the way from the bay to come to this place. I arrive at this place for our 1pm appointment with my mother. They take a ridiculous amount of time to even pay attention to us. They don't end up calling my mom for her service until 1:45pm. Can you believe that? They tell me to hold off for my pedicure and even take another walk-in before they take care of me. A lot of these reviews mention they were racist and unfortunately I did see a lot of that today. WOW. I've never been more disappointed in a salon. 2 pm comes around and I decided not to get anything done at all. They do not deserve my money. Customer service MUST be improved. Although my pedicure came out 'okay', (i have had better pedicures) I wasn't too happy with the rush job that I received. The guy who did my pedicure kept trying to convince me to change my color polish because he didn't want to have to do extra coats because of it being a lighter color. After telling him more than once I wanted that color he rushed doing my pedicure so I didn't really get to enjoy it but he did get the shape correct so that a plus. Tip: have the nail techs, pedicurist, etc take their time with customers, we're spending our money here we deserve the time no matter how busy. read more

I love going to Galaxy Nails & Spa to get my nails done. The place is always clean and everyone greets you as you enter. The staff are very friendly and the owner is super nice. They have lots of option for colors. I always get a mani & pedi from them. I'ce tried a couple different type of foot spa from them: Lavender, mango, Rose and Champagne. I liked them the first couple of times coming, but this is the second time I've been MID nail appointment and my nail lady has gotten up and went to go wax someone. I sit there for 20+ minutes waiting for her to come back. The first time I thought maybe she just forgot she had a wax appointment, but after this happening two times in a row it's kind of ridiculous. My simple acrylic set turns into a 2+ hour appointment, and I felt like she was rushing so bad. My nail shape came out bad and I had to go home and refile them. I told her they were too long 2 times and she said "I'll file them down more once I'm done" & never did. Also my nail color chipped off on TWO nails on my second day of having them done, and not sure why she used clear nails to do French tip?? So weird that they're see thru... They are very unprofessional here!! I have been coming here ever since I moved out this way, wether it be for my nails and always my eyebrows. I normally see Julie for my eyebrows (She specifically is amazing and funny!!) however MAI is not rude and unprofessional as ever. She is my backup eyebrow person and she can't stand that. When I walked in for my appointment with her today at 4pm she instantly got an attitude and tried to say no! I said yes I scheduled today knowing Julie was off because I have a dinner to go to, here it is 4:35 and I am still waiting on her and she won't even acknowledge me. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY The service here is terrible. For one they are rude. I walked in just after 9:30am while only 1 other customer was there. I requested a full set and a pedicure. They were so slow that the girl who helped me when I came in had someone paint her nails while my pedicure was being done. After being there an hour my pedicure was complete and I was being rushed to the door. (By this time they were getting busy). I reminded them I wanted a full set and they told me it would be a longer wait. 20 more min go by and I asked when I would be worked on and I was told they only had a few people who could do full sets so I would have to wait longer. I pointed out that I was there before any of these other people why would I now have to wait even longer after being there an hour and half now. I was then yelled at by the person who I believed to be the manager!! YES Actually yelled at!! Not having more time to spare and extremely frustrated and hurt that what was suppose to be a fun relaxing spa day for my birthday has now been humiliating and upsetting, I paid and left!
