What was presented as full mold removal turned out to be limited "dry-out" mitigation, an important distinction never made clear at contract signing. A job estimated at 3-4 days stretched to nearly three weeks, with unfulfilled appointments, late arrivals after I took time off work, and understaffed crews. Communication was poor. Technicians repeatedly cited insurance "approvals" as an obstacle, despite my carrier stating this was solely my responsibility and after I had already authorized full remediation. I was told the work was complete, only to discover visible black mold still present inside the wall cavity of my toddler's bedroom (see photo), requiring double the amount of demolition. They also charged for work that was not performed, such as detaching appliances that had already been moved to discover the leak. Third-party post-work air testing showed elevated & unsafe mold levels, and Restoration 1 never provided a clearance report, invoice, or written confirmation that the home was safe for habitation, despite multiple requests. It later became cleark they were working only to the initial insurance estimate rather than fully remediating the mold. Project management was disorganized, the project manager never identified themselves as such nor inspected the site in person, and coordination with the referring plumber did not occur - leaving time sensitive logistics up to me. Nearly a month later, I had not been contacted about reconstruction and I now have to hire another company to complete both remediation and reconstruction, so I cannot recommend Restoration 1.

Since the home is only two years old, I didn't feel comfortable trusting just anyone with the repairs. After looking into several options, we contacted a company called 1800 Water Damage. We wanted the work done quickly before any mold could develop. Even though it was a Sunday, which I thought might make things difficult, the owner, Eddie, came out right away. After meeting him, I decided to move forward with their company. They immediately began a full drying process in all the affected areas. After three days, they confirmed everything was completely dry through testing and then proceeded with the repairs. The entire process was completed much faster than I expected. Thanks to Eddie, everything was handled professionally and to my complete satisfaction. I truly appreciate the quality of work and service I received. Hopefully, I won't have to deal with something like this again, but if I ever do, I will definitely reach out to 1800 Water Damage and ask for Eddie owner. Highly recommended.

Even carted away the damaged stuff. They put down mats on the floor that are hooked up to machines to get the water out of the wood floor! Being part of an HOA, I was told the inside repairs would be my problem. I had no idea where to turn, or how to start this process, so I reached out to my local FB page. Kevin was one of the first to offer to help, providing his website and even DMing me immediately. I got a flood of comments but chose to give Kevin a call first. This was the best decision I could have made. Kevin was extremely forthcoming, friendly and unbelievable helpful. He took the time to talk with me and even offered to go to my condo asap to look at the damage. He went over the same day and called me immediately with his thoughts and advice.
