So many pastries and food options! My only gripe is there is nowhere to sit and eat for most of the spots in here so you have to take it to go. The interior is nice. I ended up getting the Philippe Conticini XXL croissant from here. It was enormous and was basically breakfast for the week haha! It was 35 euros. Yes, it was tasty and as expected for a croissant. Galeries Lafayette Gourmet is the gourmet wing of the famous Galeries Lafayette, a multi-structure department store complex on Boulevard Haussmann. I've been three times in the last three years, despite not living in the country. It's a little hectic and hard to navigate for me to love unreservedly, but there's no doubt that it offers a plethora of good food. I can't think of anything quite like it in the U.S., but if you've been to the Harrods food halls or department stores in Asia, you might recognize the dense arrangement of mini restaurants and food purveyors, spread out across several floors. My first visit was for an hour-long hangout with friends, and we had a hell of a time finding a place to sit down while we got a coffee or snack. We went up and down the escalator scouting things out, but almost every spot with seating was overrun on a Saturday afternoon. We ended up at an okay pan-Asian spot called Rice Street between lunch and dinner service, getting boba and sheltering from the chaos. I went two days in a row on my more recent trip to Paris, first for a Glace BACHIR pop-up, and then to get an easy on-the-go lunch before getting sucked into the broader maw of the main Galeries Lafayette. It was crowded both days, the ground floor crawling with people. Both the ice cream and my sandwich, from Chez Meunier, were delicious. I haven't quite figured out Galeries Lafayette Gourmet, but it's a worthwhile destination if you want to run around trying pastries and chocolates and other French delectables. It's kind of overwhelming, but you will likely eat well. read more

Want a couple of floors of some of the world's best pastry chiefs creations? This is your dream come true then. We went an hour before they closed and were still met with great service. The employees happily explained the choices we had and what to expect from each pastry if needed. The ambiance is as expected being surrounded by delicious pastries. Only good things.... Only good things..... They are part of a shopping mall that stays open about an hour after the regular retail stores close. This way you can get what you really came for without having to carry it around while shopping. Once outside one can go from window to window looking at the Christmas displays. This is a great place to sample different items such as 10 different flavors of eclairs. How can you give this less than 5 stars? You really can't. I love this place. read more

This place is very busy with many food options for all. There are stands to just buy things as well as places to sit and eat. It located across the street from the gallery with the roof top view. We went just for the giant croissant from the Philippe Conticini stand. It cost approximately 37€. It was very good. They do sell out so if this on your agenda get there earlier. Also they only put it in a bag with paper on top. So if you plan to continue around town you will want to ensure you have something to wrap it up in. Remember you are in France. We also grab two other deserts that were also amazing in taste. We did try a cake they called their Christmas special but we didn't buy it. I was so excited to visit Galeries Lafayette Gourmet! The floor was filled with a variety of famous dessert shops and bakeries! My first stop was Pierre Hermé, my favorite shop! I got the Ispahan, which was on a whole different level of macaron quality. The raspberries were naturally sweet, and the cream was absolutely delicious--not too sweet. Next, I visited Pierre Marcolini, my favorite chocolate shop! I got several praline chocolate boxes, and they were incredibly delicious. The chocolate melted in my mouth. Truly great products! Next, I found Le Chocolat, Alain Ducasse's chocolate shop! I got the Children's Chocolate Series box, which features mini chocolate bars with animal prints on them. Very good products! I passed by L'Éclair de Génie, Jean-Paul Hévin, Alleno & Rivoire, Philippe Conticini, Louis Fouquet, and many more... Due to the limited time we had, I couldn't browse all the shops, but this place made me so happy. I definitely want to visit again to explore more shops on my next visit. read more

Love, love, love this place! Go and make yourself a charcuterie dinner.. they have everything you can think of here for a fabulous dinner. Don't forget to get butter to take home - get it air vacuumed for 1 euro. I had a great woman help me pick a ton of flavors to bring home. It worked well in my suitcase since it was November. This place has tons and tons of pastries, desserts, and chocolate. Definitely overwhelmed with the variety of options. It's always super busy, so be ready to be sardined! Wow, this place is amazing! First, the building was impressively clean, especially considering the large number of people passing through. Second, you can likely find any food item you're craving. I'm glad I stopped in before catching my flight because I was able to pick up a few food souvenirs to take home. Third, if you're looking for a place to dine after a long day of shopping, there are plenty of options to choose from on the top floors. While the prices are on the higher side, you get what you pay for. I stopped at Bagnard for their outstanding truffle risotto, and I couldn't have been happier with my decision! I still dream about its quality flavors, the creaminess, the presentation. The staff were very kind, even to tourists (as long as you use proper French etiquette). I didn't encounter any of the rude behavior that some people mention. Overall, I really appreciated the warm hospitality this place offers! read more

This is the food section, food court of the Galeries Lafayette. The main mall with the clothes, fashion and more is across the street. But we did enjoy this one here a lot more. To travel means to eat for us. And this Gourmet hall here is spectacular. You will find lots of stalls and counters of more and less know chefs and artists, smaller restaurants to grab a bite or real restaurants (upper floor) to sit down and dine. There's also a great grocery section in the sublevel. Chez Meunier has wonderful bread, patisserie, cakes and more. There's a long line, but very much worth the wait. Best bakery we think in Paris so far. Then there is Maison Boissier that also sells Marrons glacés. In different price classes. We bought a box of 12 pieces for 60 Euros. That might sound crazy. But they are really also crazy good. Amazing. Surely these two places were worth the visit already. Given a bigger budget we would have spent a lot more time and a lot more money here. But we just had some lunch at the (quite disappointing) Fish Point and then did some shopping in the sublevel. Great saucisses and saucissons, spices, honey and truffles of all kind. Wonderful, high quality products for every budget. A wonderful Gourmet Food court. We will definitely back here next time in Paris. With a bigger budget. read more

OMG! I wish we knew about this place from the beginning of our trip to Paris we found out about it last night and today is our last day in Paris so we stopped by to check it out and wow. Just wow. Food heaven. You want macaroons? There's at least 4 of them here including Jean Paul hevin & Pierre hermé. Chocolates and pastries galore. There are butchers cutting meat, cheese shops with cheese as far as the eye can see. There's a grocery with fruits and frozen food as well as refrigerated goods and snacks. We found truffle and caviar flavored chips as well as foie gras heaven... We even found a spice shop that serves different salts and spices... and a tea shop. Just go and check it out. This place was EXCELLENT! Every booth worker was friendly and outgoing. Smiles everywhere. I first went here alone on reconnaissance - and I couldn't believe my eyes. Ice creams, all types of different foods, bakeries, pastries, chocolatiers, a full gourmet supermarket with wonderful fresh fruit selection. I waited until my wife arrived before sampling the wares. At the entrance is an ice cream place and they had lemon ice cream that was out of this world. I had a small incident where they asked if I want whipped cream and said yes but only a small amount. In Paris - just take it how it is - it will be awesome! We purchased smoked peppercorns from a West Indies spice company. We ate some food at a Greek restaurant and it was great. Chocolate Babka from one of the bakeries with while hazelnuts was heavenly. We spent 100 Euros on fruit and ate fruit for late lunch daily. It lasted the whole week. Every booth had something unique - they have a chocolatier here that makes everything in house and you can go to their factory and see how the chocolate is made from bean to finished product! The have a butchers market with whole leg of lamb. It's an experience - and this market is right near the opera house. It's a MUST to visit! The ambiance is bustling but friendly and there is a buzz of excitement. All the vendors exhibit joy and it is extremely clean and organized. One of the best places to get those "supermarket souvenirs" to bring home with you. GLG is located just across the street from the main store (not really marked on internal store maps). Once inside, you'll be in a wonderland of delicious food. The ground floor is full of counter service restaurants (oyster bar, sushi, etc) and famous chocolatiers like Alain Ducasse. If you want to grab a glass of wine and a fancy snack, you'll have lots of choices. Downstairs is the "epicerie" or grocery store, offering pretty much every kind of luxury grocery you can imagine. It's Whole Foods meets Nordstrom. If you love a French thing you'll probably find it here - Christine Ferber jams, Mariage Freres tea, Fauchon biscuits, Angelina hot chocolate mix and so much more. I even enjoyed it more than the food court at Harrod's in London. The tomatoes were gorgeous! The passion fruit I bought was tasty. I don't know if I could afford to shop here regularly as a local, but as a tourist this place is great! I would love more seating though. A seating area where you could eat tomatoes, cheese, bread and drink the wine you just bought from the food court would be convenient if you didn't have time to go set up a picnic in a park somewhere. We went here twice in one day. Éclair de Génie for breakfast. We ended up deciding on Yves-Marie Le Bourdonnec (meat shop & restaurant/stand) for dinner. It was great. Fantastique! I could've spent hours here! But, my husband wasn't so keen on going down each and every aisle. On the ground floor, there are patisseries, food shops selling everything from jamon to pasta, Chinese food, and bread. The lower level is more of a grocery with pate, cookies, candies, chocolate, mustard, prepared food, and fresh produce. It reminds me of the Japanese department stores but much less crowded and smaller. Prices here seem reasonable and not too inflated even though it's in a major department store. Very busy mall. So when you think of mall in USA - you have individual stores- here the store has no walls and everything is in one roof. Pricing is good especially for perfumes, French clothing, and high end bags. Watch out for the Asian tourist - long lines in high end bags. If you spend greater than 175 euros, you can get your VAT(value added tax) in the store - about 18 percent - if you don't redeem that day- you have to deal with in the airport- but got to show that you have not used the purchased item yet. Small food court upstairs, make sure you head to the roof to view the city and Opera building. read more

Once you do, the seating is so close to the wait line, it's hard to enjoy your food. Tip: get the food, go back to your posh hotel lobby or room and take your time... This is a food lovers paradise! Numerous gourmet shops ranging from Alain Ducasse chocolate to Indian spices. Prices are reasonable especially at the grocery store-type place on the lower level. We had take-out dim sum here one night which was decent both in price and quality (i.e., 3.5 stars and we'd do it again). We also bought two loaves of Poilane bread, some cheese, and some freshly squeezed orange juice (2.6 euros for 1/2 liter). Only downside is that there is really no place to sit and eat unless you're eating at one of the restaurants. We were mainly buying food to eat at our hotel or on a picnic, however, so this was fine for our needs. read more

Wich shld be freshly made, in front of you. As you expect wok to be and certainly in such a glitsy place. And without any gène, they get it out of the fridge, and they microwave it?! Who does that! And in such a luxury spot. We were expecting quality, not a upgraded TV-lunch... So we refused the food. They excuse is, yes it's written on menu ( no it isn't by the way...) or if you see traiteur you shld know we microwave.. It's fresh in the morning, they said. It was 17h30! Terres de Cafe recently opened their first location here in the Galleries Lafayette Gourmet and it is definitely the best third wave coffee shop in Paris. A whole building dedicated to food?! What's not to love? There is one thing but let's talk about that later. First, this place houses 3 of my favorite things in Paris, Pierre Herme, Sadaharu Aoki and D'eclair de Genie. The ground floor is also an amazing grocery store that sells gourmet items on top of fresh meat and vegetables. Looking for Bordier butter, aka best butter ever, they have different kinds here. Missed getting hot chocolate at Angelina? They sell bottles of the stuff here too! The only downside are the restaurants inside. They're pretty overpriced especially the Asian place. And the food was just okay. So skip the restaurants here and just grab delicious pastries and stuff from the grocery store on the ground floor to bring back to your AirBnB for an amazing home cooked meal. This building is not connected to the main building or the men's building but is located directly in front of the men's. read more

I visited this place while trying to kill time before doing a guided tour at the Palais Garnier ( it's located across the st) The basement floor is a grocery like area with a sweet fish market/eatery. The first floor is a little cafeteria, the second floor are kitchen products and the top floor is general house supplies. The market is pricey, but what isn't in Paris? It seems like it may be just an eye catching novelty sometimes but I still had a great experience exploring. read more
