Pasties abound!
Christine M.

My family and I visited Paris for our first time. I've read recommendations to come here and was not disappointed. Despite not speaking perfect French the staff was kind and patient. We ordered the pear tart and a raspberry tart. Both were delicious. Unlike American pastries that border on cloying, these French pastries were subtly sweet and tasted more of the fruit that was nicely balanced with the custard underneath. The café lattes were also delicious, paired nicely with the desserts.

This bakery is top-notch I had quite a few items but my favorite was a seeded bread sandwich that had salmon in it and damn that was so good I still dream about it. If you run in to this place be sure and get the salmon sandwich and try and resist all the other delectible items because you'll want one of everything.

Plain croissant

My favorite croissant in Paris. Flaky, buttery, and absolutely decadent. There was a long line for service at this bakery and I would wait in it again and again for the opportunity to shove one of these croissants in my face. My mother had a brie and butter baguette that I tried and it was also mouth watering. *Terminator voice* I'll be back.

Yummy! Cannot pass up this delightful French bakery and will go back many times for baguettes, pastries, macaroons and coffee. Little pricey but worth it!

Croissant, Ham and Cheese Quiche, & Baguette Roll

A very big, nicer bakery that has locations all throughout Paris. Great place to sit and grab breakfast. I tried the croissant and ham and cheese quiche (comes with a baguette roll). Both were very good but did not blow my mind. They were a lot more pricier then other small bakeries. I think you can find the same great quality of pastry for cheaper all over Paris.

Mixte (ham and cheese) baguette

Excellent bakery chain that lives up to the Yelp hype. I went to several locations of EK while I was in Paris for bread, pastries and lunch. They have the best almond croissants I've ever had (and maybe that had something to do with it being a CHOCOLATE almond croissant). I grabbed a ham and cheese sandwich on a baguette for lunch one day. It was perfect in its simplicity. You can also ask them to press whichever sandwich you choose. The eclair I had was good, but didn't blow me away. Note: if you opt to dine in rather than take away, you will be charged more for the items you purchase. This is the case if you see 2 prices on the same item.

We tried the jambon sandwich and chicken baguette, paired with a golden ale beer and coffee. Both sandwiches were outstanding--freshly made with incredible bread, generous fillings, and a perfect balance of textures. The strong cheese they offer on the side is a must; it pairs beautifully with the sandwiches, and the staff even lets you try it before deciding, which is a great touch. We did go around 2pm and unfortunately the pastrami was already sold out, which speaks to how popular it is. We also waited about 30-40 minutes in line, but it moved steadily and didn't feel too painful. We were lucky to find a spot to dine in, though most people grab their food to go. Service was friendly and quick despite the constant rush. The atmosphere is more grab-and-go than sit-down, with very limited indoor seating. Most people take their sandwiches to enjoy at a nearby park, which actually adds to the experience. Be prepared for a queue, but it moves faster than expected--and the payoff is absolutely worth it for what might be the best sandwich in the city.

These sandwiches are curated, edible pieces of art made with love by the one and only Alain. It's easy to see why they're so popular. People love the sandwiches so much that his stall inside Marche' Des Efants Rouges can see lines lasting upwards of an hour or more. And people stay in the line. We lucked out and only had to wait about twenty minutes. I tell you, I'd wait all day if need be. I often dream of the sandwiches we had and can't wait to have them again. A picture is worth a thousand words and therefore, my photos can tell you everything you need to know about how good the sandwiches were. It makes me smile when I look at the pic of us with Alain. What a wonderful human being producing wonderful food for the people.

I whipped out Yelp and noticed that I had Happy Caffe bookmarked. I'm not sure how it landed in my collection, but the reviews were excellent thought it would be a good option for lunch - so off we went. Happy sits right on the street - it's a super small space with barely any room inside and several tables outside on the sidewalk. They did a good job making room for us - I have to say they mastered the art of optimizing what little space they have but even still be prepared for a tight fit. The menu has a selection of baked good, crepes, and sandwiches. We asked the employee working behind the counter what they recommended and he suggested the kebab panini as he sells many of them every day. We decided to each get one, which was served promptly. The sandwich wasn't my favorite - the chicken seemed a little off, and it wasn't that tasty. I wouldn't say it was awful, but I also wouldn't order it again. Looking back, perhaps I ordered the wrong thing (despite it being recommended to me). I'm puzzled by all these 5-star reviews - maybe the crepes are better? Two stars for the friendly and attentive service, but I would bypass this spot next time I'm in Paris.

Charcuterie did come with good presentation like wood board or anything but it was a good portion. I didn't read the menu closely and ordered charcuterie as soon as saw it. I wanted to have some cheese with it. I should have ordered assiette royale which comes with both meat and cheese. I also ordered Andrea which comes with burrata. It was great with salad and lemon shavings but anchovies were pretty salty. I suggest to eat it with some kind of bread. Between that two orders, I was stuffed and couldn't even finish it. Honestly it was meant for 3 to 4 people. One of the employees speak English and she was very nice. Overall experience was great and good spot to hang out.

We sat outside at one of their small table on the street. It reminded me of eating street foods in Asia; except this is in Paris. Service was good but could be better if they can explain us what to order on their menu. I liked the Burrata which was creamy with tangy salad and anchovies. It was a great appetizer for us. Charcuterie came with a paper box in to-go or take-out style. It had variety of cured meat slices. Meats had good flavors, textures, tastes from salty to spicy and tangy from lemon slices. It was good to pair with Burrata. Recommend this place in Paris!
