Grasse is the capital of the perfume. This store is one of the oldest in France. Galimard has been a landmark or history of the perfume store in Grasse. You can make appointment to make your own perfume and smell the way you like. The appointment to make your own perfume will last two hours of process. You need to make this appointment one month early to secure your spot in their lab. They also has factory nearby that you can take a tour. The tour includes tour to their lab, ancient equipment, show room, and more. It was great to smell the fragrance during the tour. We did got a few bottles back home. There are three different types. So I've never made my own perfume before but we were in the area & I'd had Galimard bookmarked forever so I took a chance & they had reservations available for the next day so we signed up The rooms take up to 30 people but Mr & I were the only people there so it was like a private class - score! Explaining how perfumes are made up of the base, heart & head notes, there seemed to be hundreds of bottles containing different smells We started with the base note & I chose my favorite 4, their expert chose the mixing amounts and e continued to build from there until I had my very own perfume Needs to macerate for the next 3 weeks but from what I can tell so far, I rocked this! I can't wait to wear my very own scent, designed and named by me! My formula is stored there so whenever I want to reorder or change to perfume, shower gel shampoo or whatever product they offer, I can get it in MY scent How awesome is that?! read more

After exploring Cannes for much of the day, our tour included a stop at Galimard at Grasse. A few days prior, we had taken a Monaco tour that included at stop at Fragonard in Eze so I had some idea of what to expect in a perfumery. A lot of extraction process and variety of flowers used is interesting and seemed similar at both perfumeries. However, different combinations are components in the final products and can smell completely different. Buying perfume at Galimard is much more worth it than Fragonard because you can still buy Fragonard at airport duty-free shops. Galimard, on the other hand, can only be purchased at the factory location whether it's at this location or another. Perfumeries like Galimard make scents for many of the most famous fashion houses/brands. Their gift shop at the end of the tour was very extensive and we got a samples sets of both the men's and women's parfums. They have everything from bath crystals to moisturizers and soaps and candles. Some of it can be a little pricey. It was about 50 euro per each set but they do last 5 years if you don't abuse the concentrated bottles you're getting. They do free guided tours if you reserve online. I thought they do free walk ins too but I'm not sure now since it's been about a month since when I was there. Perfumeries are big in this part of the country and are known the world-over. It'd be a pity to miss out visiting any of them let alone Galimard! read more

The perfume capital of the world!! 5 stars to Galimard since 1747 when they first evolve as "the Nose of Choice" among Royalty and high end retailers such as Chanel, Dior, Hugo Boss, etc. Grabbed a couple samples before I left since the tour guide said these selected items would soon retail for triple once they have sold it to an outside retailer (eg, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, etc.) ! read more

I Went there with my husband and 2 kids. It was 45 euro per person to take a tour and custom make your own perfume creation. It costs 10 euros if you go in as an observer and don't make the perfume. The masters perfumeurs gave instructions in English so that all (mostly tourists) could follow. There were an overwhelming amount of notes to choose from and after a while I felt as though my nose was unable to differentiate smells. After you finish blending the final result is 100ml of eau du perfume that gets packaged in fancy bottle (additional 12 euro) or a simple bottle which is no charge. All in all it was a great experience and my kids who are 4 and 6 really enjoyed it as well. By the way, we were told the perfume has to ready for 14 days before using it so fingers crossed mine actually smells good. read more
