It represents the seedy side of western Queens, back when the warehouse life was real and less of the gentrifying yuppies taking over the hood. No one ever said this was the best destination for adult entertainment by any stretch, but embrace certain norms and it can be a fun time for all. Expect the following (good and bad) * A semi-forcible pat down by the bouncer if they think something is strange about your get-up. No, a fist bump gets you nowhere. * Bring some friends, co-ed if possible. My mixed group of females and guys got some stares, but it beats looking like a dodgy group of drunkards. * A long and serious stare from the girl behind the coat check counter when the tip isn't all that sufficient. In fact, every staff member will follow a bad tip with a weird stare. * Parking to be real tough on the street. Just get off the 33rd / 40th stop on the 7 Train. Then again, there is parking beneath the train. * Cash is king here. However, they like to tout that they accept all credit cards. Bring both, just in case. * Coming on a weekend evening? Expect a cover. I think it was $10 on the weekends. * Service from the staff definitely varies. Some nights they're friendly and not too crowded and some others they're a little too much. I can see how some folks would leave here very not * The ladies are definitely out in full force during prime time. It's not like a skeleton crew of the dirty dozen. What are strip clubs really for? Are they just about voyeurism? Buying bogus intimacy? Somewhere to go at 4:30am? I tend to think there is another commodity being traded. Unintentionally, the strip club offers a window into the most primal passages of a man's psyche. When you hit up a strip club with your buddies, the experience lays bare (pun intended) what turns your friends on and by the same token, your own uncontrollable attractions. Every guy, if suitably sauced and flush with cash, will manage to "fall in love" once or twice at Galaghers in an evening. No two guys ever seem to pick the same girl. Moreover, I often find their preferences baffling. What are they focusing on that I miss? Is it the hint of a scent? A resemblance to a high school crush? Their mother? God only knows how attraction was programmed within them. Still, at least you can witness its expression over endless mini-courtships. Practical information: Galaghers 2000 is pretty cheap given its industrial location in the hinterland of Queens . $5 at the door. $20 a dance. $160 for the VIP. As others have noted, the spirits are watered down so it's best to stick with bottled beer. On a given night you'll get Asian, Afro-Caribbean, Eastern European, and South American. Not many American, girl next door types though. The entertainers vary in attractiveness but the median certainly merits the trek. Go with your buddies but be aware that ultimately, what you are really buying is a latent knowledge of one another. read more

This is one of the best strip clubs I've ever been to. Even though it's in Queens, it's just outside of Manhattan in Long Island City and only a few blocks from the 7 train. I've only been here on weekdays so I don't know how it is on the weekends. Cover is usually a mere $5, beer is $7, and they've got kitchen with surprisingly good and cheap food (like their $6 grilled chicken sandwich with fries). The place is huge, clean, and not ghetto in the slightest. Most importantly the girls here are amazingly hot (most of the girls here are Russian). I got the best lap dance I've ever gotten here from a Russian beauty named Kat. The only real negative here is that unless it's a busy Friday or Saturday the large stage by the DJ booth surrounded by comfortable seating is empty and the action happens on the stage behind the 360 degree bar. This means that unless you're getting hit on by a girl trying to get you to buy her a lap dance the closest to the dancers you'll get is about 8 feet or so while they're dancing and then after each dance the 3 or so dancers walk around the bar asking for your tips. I'd much prefer the regular stage where you can grab a seat right next to the stage and get a little more attention or sit a little farther and save your tip dollars. Overall this is one of the nicest and least expensive strip clubs in the city and it's worth going out of the way to avoid the rip off places in Manhattan or the ghetto places in Brooklyn. I'm not from NY, just visiting a friend. We found this place through reviews and since it was close to where we stayed, we decided to give it a visit just to finish off my vacation getaway cliche. Came in, atmosphere wasn't that bad. Actually was pretty good. The girls we're a lot sexier than I expected and there are A LOT of girls, having been to other strip clubs in San Antonio, TX- I would say this place had it beat. You get to chill at the bar, watch girls dance and if you like one particular, then have em sit down and chill with you. Along that goes with that is usually a dance if you're really diggin the dancer. I found one I really liked, and I'm quite picky just because I like a girl who's fit. Anyways, drinks are expensive, so don't get the hard stuff, it's a rip off, you're there for the dancers and a beer. I had an awesome time here. I should mention that 1) I've never been to a strip club before, 2) I was there with my boyfriend, and 3) we got there at 7:30 on a Saturday night (so there was no cover and it wasn't crowded, although it definitely got full by the time we left). This was a perfect place to dip my toes in... no one was pushy, the bartenders and dancers were cool and represented a diversity of backgrounds, shapes, and sizes-- and most importantly, I didn't feel seedy or gross at all! We sat at the bar and had a couple drinks ($10 each so pretty standard), had a great view of the dancers, and had a nice time chatting them up as they came by for tips. Everyone working there seems down to earth and approachable, and I found the patrons pretty respectful too. Of course I'm sure it gets rowdy later on when it's more crowded and people have been drinking longer, but I had a really good time. The commercials make this place look bad. It's a lot worse in person. My partner suggested we sample some of the strip clubs outside Manhattan, so we took the train to Sunnyside. First of all, walking on that strip of Queens Boulevard at night is like walking through a bad 70's horror movie. We would have been mugged, but the muggers were scared to go out there. We get to the door and there is no hostess, no security and no real indication that the place was open until you walk through the inner door. When you do get inside, you are greeted to the least appealing strip club set up imaginable. There is a rectangular bar with a platform in the center. Most of the seats at the bar are taken up by the strippers, so you can't sit down without dealing with them (i.e. spend money). That would be fine, but all the girls looks limp, disinterested and a little lost. It's like they're not even sure how they got there. The rest of the space is quite huge, but it was deserted when we got there. All the "action" was at the bar. There is a platform in the center of the bar with three poles for the ladies to dance, but all of them mailed in the same tired two step routine. The dancing was not enhanced by the fact that they took of their clothes. In some ways it made the whole thing worse. We left without buying a drink, since no waitress came up to us to take and order and we had no incentive to stay in such a depressing place. Gallagher's pays for late night TV commercials. I had a great time at G2000. The room is large and there are a lot of women. It's crowded enough that the strippers don't paw all over you looking for money. If you come with a friend you can sit at the bar, nurse a few drinks and see some pleasing nudity. There was a nice range of girls, all with mostly natural-looking bodies, not the over done barbie look conventionally associated with "performers." Hmmm...sorta kinda awesome is the way I'd like to describe this place! This is the second strip club I had eve been to and it was the first in New york which for some reason made me think that the standard should be higher than the previous club I went to. Which it was. My favorite part was that they have not just a stage with two poles of fun but also a bar stage. This bar stage holds 4 girls for our viewing pleasure. Now mind you i went here with my Boyfriend, the Bride to be, and a lesbian couple. We must have scared off every dancer b/c while everyone else is having every dance approach them for soliciting of the coveted lap dance, not a one came our way. Matter a fact I think they made sure that they didn't have to walk by us for whatever reason. But when we lined up for a dance for each of us from one girl I think they figured out that we meant business. Gallagher's 2000 does have on flaw. The system in which the girls collect after the bar dance is a bit...much. Having the girl parade around to every patron to say, "HI!" and add a lil jiggle of the goods is a bit much. For us, the beezys that are critiquing the dancers every second, if we didn't like you, you knew and we didn't really feel bad about not tipping. ::sigh:: bastards we are I know but shit some of them were not all that great. This is the best adult entertainment club I have been to. The exotic dancers are a wonderful variety of hot, gorgeous women (of all ethnic backgrounds) willing to take care of you. The place is large, and clean enough. Dancers Eileen, Sophia, Alina, and Ella gave me excellent lap dances, all done upstairs on the second level. Champaign rooms (as I was told) for more private dances are $160 for 30 minutes (nothing sexual, obviously). That is not bad considering regular lap dances at $20 a pop would be more expensive given the same time frame. As with all strip clubs, bring a lot of money because you will be inclined to spend. It is a N.Y.C. Club so drinks will be expensive, and, yes, there is a cover charge. My husband and his unemployed friend, Karthik went there for a good night but they ended up spending over 800! The establishment said they couldn't just stay there so they had to get drinks and tip all the women who come up to them just to talk. Not even to strip!! Just to talk. My husband also ate or drank something weird because he had non stop diarrhea and couldn't stop puking. It seems like an unsanitary place. They should really make the workers get regular check ups if their bodily fluids are going to be everywhere. The price of entry to get in is free.... or so they say. Before 8 pm, it's "free" but after 8 pm, it's 5-10 depending on how much you have to bribe the bouncer. Before 8 pm, they say it's free but they force you to buy drinks or they kick you out...... The cheapest drink is either $7 for water or $9 for piss water aka Corona. The girls aren't that attractive, maybe 1 out of the 10 girls there are okay. The rest of the 9 aren't as good. There is barely any stripping or teasing. It's just straight up girls going to you to take off their shirt and demanding tips....... There is no fun or excitement. Though the bar tender girl is oaky to talk to. Even when she is not demanding tips for $7 water..... SERIOUSLY? why is water $7?!!! Just have a $5 entrance fee and then charge $1 for water. The sofa upstairs for lap dances are bad and ripped. Now i'm not a fan of strip clubs simply because it's a huge waste of money. But sometimes when a dude is single and depressed or your bro is like that, as a licensed heterosexual, you have to visit the strip joints (though if prostitution was legal, it's better to spend that kind of dough on a hooker than a strip club). Gallagher 2000 is probably the best strip club in Queens (but don't take my word for it, I've only visited 2 other strip clubs in Queens and 4 including Gallagher in my lifetime). The majority of the girls are Russian immigrants but good-looking girls. Drinks are reasonable for strip joint and it's only 10 dollar admissions. Lapdance is about 20 dollars for 3 minutes so the standard I guess. Once in a while, I don't mind coming here. Fun place. read more

After reading the reviews during my NYC visit, i found out that Gallaghers2000 was only a short drive from the hotel that I was staying at. Longing for a drink and wondering for a while how the pole dancers were in the Big Apple, I decided to take a quick look. Now let me confess, even if all the reviews on Yelp and other ratings on the other sites were absolutely horrible....I probably still would have gone to investigate. Why? Because I love strip clubs. And I loves me some professional luvin'...I can feel good about it because I am supporting a lot of single mothers out there (yo, it may be cliche but it happens to be true) or young aspiring women who want to pursue something larger in there life. These young (and sometimes not so young) women are there to make anyone and everyone feel better about their day, even if temporary. I've been to a LOTTTTTTT of scary places and this ranked a "3" on a 10 scale for scary (10 being hair-raising lets-get-the-hell-outta-here-right-now-its-dangerous scary). The neighborhood is very well lit and quiet at night, not a lot of vagrants sleeping or hanging out, and you can park very close by under the highway overpass or in the pay garage right next door. Here's a tip: Respect the city and the city might respect you--meaning don't take safety for granted but don't walk around looking like you are afraid or don't belong there. One of my favorite times to visit a strip club that is open all day is just before the changing of the guard (when the night shift comes to relieve the day shift for you TT bar newbies). This way you get to see almost twice as many faces as you normally would. AND I DID...G2000 has an amazing number of faces dancing on the stage. At any given time on that Thursday I went, I felt there were more dancers than patrons. I actually went twice that day because I had to go visit a family member--so I returned a lot later also (that should tell you something). The staff was friendly and professional. They have a metal detector and in the evening you get a security pat-down. The customers ranged from suit & tie businessmen to muscle-bound tatted-up toughguys. The atmosphere is higher end. They have two stages, although only the one by the bar was running when I went. The most active stage is by the bar which racetracks around the stage. The girls dance quite a bit distant from the bar (at least what I'm used to) and when they come down, they come around the racetrack to collect their tips (Hint: if you like to see them come by (like me), sit by the bar. If you are on a budget, don't sit by the bar; choose a table set away from the bar instead.) The girls come down in droves so, you feel as though you are constantly tipping. Although not mandatory by any means, it is frowned upon if you don't tip. Go visit their website and find out their happy hour specials...its worth it. I ordered the $9 NY Sirloin special which came with mash potatoes and vegetables but most importantly absolutely delicious, well-portioned (12oz?) and worth paying at least twice or three times that in the city. I saw they had some beer specials also but I don't drink beer so I don't remember what it was. So finally, to the girls!!!! It was explained to me that if you like Latinas then you come during the day shift, and if you like Eastern Europeans then you come during the night shift. I've read this in other reviews and then saw it with my own eyes. So....if you like latinas, go during the day and Eastern Europeans (Russians mainly, blondes mostly) then go during the evening. I saw one other gorgeous Asian gal, a few Dominicans, and a Brooklyn native. Not too many All-American girls here. Overall, the dancing ladies are very attractive on average and as a club, well above average. Some of the gals are more aggressive than others, and I find the Dominicanas and Latinas to be more go-getter. OK, lets get to the juicier part (this is Yelp so I will keep it nice). Listen, I REALLY tried to have a budget evening but ended up getting sucked into the lapdance area by a sweet dyed-blonde Russian (go figure) from St.Petersburg. You have two choices: Supervised Lapdance area for $20 per song, or 30 minutes in the private room for $160. I tried both!! The one guy said there were cameras in the private room, I didn't see any. The private room allows you a lot more contact as she removes her top but not her bottoms. Depending on the rapport you have with your dancer, determines how liberal your dance will be (wink wink). The hat trick is if the dancer likes you, and you are respectful to her, AND she thinks she is going to make money from you--you just might hit the jackpot. I tried the lapdance area also which feels much more tame than the private room. The standard "keep your hands to your side" is in effect here. I stayed until 3am on a Thursday (they close at 4am). Had a above average good time...but not my ATF (all time fave). read more
