Lulu designed and made my wedding gown and I could not be happier! She was able to deliver a dress I feel was really timeless and flattered my figure perfectly. I was very nervous during the booking and the first few fittings - its hard to imagine the dress really coming to life without anything tangible to go off of. But Lulu was so knowledgable about how to make my vision a reality - she picked the perfect fabric and addressed each and every one of my endless concerns and opinions. There were several things that really made her outstanding. First, she was able to create the dress I wanted within my budget (which was significantly lower than anything I was seeing at bridal gown stores - including dresses off the rack and on sale). Next, she was very attentive to my every feeling about the dress...if I didn't like something or it wasn't quite right - she fixed it, period. And to really top it all off she continued to make alterations on the dress DAYS before the wedding because I was trying to lose weight - at no additional cost. It would have been well within her right to charge me for alterations since the dress was basically finished when I started to lose the weight and it was during peak wedding season (so she was pretty busy). She also made the veil for free :) When all four of my bridesmaids dresses were shipped and looked like potato sacks she did the alterations for all of them and did an AMAZING job. Lulu's services are top notch. My dress was 2 sizes too big and she worked with my to make it *perfect* for my day. My dress arrived with a black mark on the train. Rather than having me send it back to the vendor, she was able to remove the stain. She even created a custom bolero after I decided I wanted additional coverage for a church ceremony. What I liked the most was that she did things in steps which gave me (typically indecisive) time to process the changes, and meant there were no missteps or re-dos. I did begin the process a full 3 months before the wedding. Lulu was very professional and gives here opinion without being pushy. She's very accommodating, even after I was late for an appointment one morning, and I never felt rushed. I wish I had more excuses to use her services. So glad I found Lulu to alter my wedding dress! I had a strapless sweetheart mermaid silhouette dress that was very fitted with beautiful scalloped lace. By sheer luck, the dress fit perfectly months before my wedding, so I didn't have to size up or down. It was all one length, and I'm pretty short, so I needed to take quite a bit of length off from the front while keeping the back long to create a train effect. I also had Lulu create a bustle in the back. Because of the lace detail, I wasn't sure if the length needed to be adjusted from the hem or from the waist seam, but I'm glad I trusted Lulu's experience. She ended up cutting the extra fabric from the hem and tapering it so that it transitioned nicely into a train in the back. The ribbon bustle she created was simple and easy to work with. I also brought a lace romper/dress to hem (which was more complicated than my actual wedding dress!) and she saw that the bodice was a little too big, which added to the length. She took the length from the waist to preserve the lace detail at the hem, and took it in at the shoulders so that it was custom fit for me at the top. It only took two appointments and I got my dresses back within three weeks. I very happy that I took my dresses to Lulu! She has so much experience with bridal gowns and can suggest alterations that will get you the perfect custom fit for a great price. I found Lulu before she started her own business and I loved her work so much that I've followed her through 3 different locations! now, I think it's a great bonus that she lives less than 5 minutes from my house. Our daughter bought a wedding dress in Idaho, where she attends school. We are an LDS family, and the dress had to be altered for it to be modest enough for her to wear on her wedding day.
