The pub was really cosy and it was very busy for a Wednesday night. They have a good selection of beer (priced like Melbourne based on what we had) and the staff was lovely. We both had a steak from the restaurant and it was delish. It would have gotten an even higher mark if the potato wasn't half cooked. Next time in town is come back.

I reminded me of one of those really cool inner city pubs you find in Melbourne, only it's in Warrnambool. It certainly appeals to the younger crowd, but I never felt out of place here, and the tunes they pumped out were nothing short of awesome. In fact I loved the place so much I dragged my friend back the next day to discover that they also have live music. Oh, they also have a pretty decent selection of craft beer on tap, as well as a nice array of wine. Definitely a place to visit if you are looking for a nightspot in Warrnambool.

I usually attribute comfort inn to more motel style accomodation. Low expectation, overnight cos u have to sleep somewhere type of place. Although admittedly, this one seems to have a lot more care out into it. The couple managing this place obviously takes a lot of pride and keeping of the rooms. Shower was clean, the queen room has enough space for a small 2 seater sofa and a single armchair. Overall it was a pleasant stay for me and likely to return. This is definitely my pick of the accomodation in this area.

The rooms were exceptional for a Comfort Inn chain and the best we have stayed at in the chain. Bed was a king size and comfy and the bathroom clean and with everything you need. Would definitely make this our choice on our next visit!

Do not trust the lockers/changing rooms with valuables…read more My phone was stolen from my bag in the men's changing room/locker area at Deep Blue Hotel & Spa (Warrnambool). The person who took it was a regular member, and the situation was later framed as an "accident," which is not credible based on what happened next. Here are the facts: The phone was taken and no one responded to my Apple Find My Lost Mode message requesting return/contact. The phone was not returned until after I tracked it using my laptop, requested obtained CCTV from Deep Blue Hotel & Spa, and filed a police report. I was able to follow the phone's location history to the person's home area before it was finally turned in to a police station over an hour away. If this was an "accident," the normal response would be immediate contact and return. That didn't happen. It only moved once tracking and police involvement made it impossible to ignore. Warning to future visitors: do not leave valuables in the designated lockers/changing rooms. If you bring anything you can't afford to lose (phone, wallet, cards), keep it on your person at all times.

Western Warrnambool

My partner…read moreand I stayed in a king room for 2, and as well as being a decently sized room, it was also beautifully designed and had some very comfortable features. The colour scheme here looked to be red, white, and brown, which worked together beautifully here in this design. The room comes with two leather lounges and a leather chair next to the TV. Three modern lamps. The two beside the bed were large fancy metal lamps, which I loved. The bathroom was up to scratch with modern day features. I love a shower that's closed in with glass walls. The room wasn't overpriced at all. Perhaps for what it is it was quite reasonable. I paid $130 for the room, and it a feels good paying a tad bit extra and getting a room that's not at all dated as what some hotels can be. The only small downfall about my stay was that the bar fridge in my room sometimes made a strange clicking and clacking noise, what can be disruptive, but never mind. Overall I did enjoy my stay at the Comfort Inn Western. It's very conveniently located to local shops and restaurants, and the beach fronts.

Thus, was left with two options for dinner: eat at the resort's overpriced restaurant or hoof it into town. I was exhausted, so I ponied up for the resort's restaurant. Later, I crashed like Rip Van Winkle in a fairly comfortable bed. I awoke the next morning to discover that the rooms had washer/dryers. I was bummed that I missed my chance at doing laundry.. Clean underwear and socks would have been sweet.

Anyway, this pub was actually quite a short walk from the motel we were staying at while we were in Warrnambool and it wasn't a bad pub, but nothing really all that exciting. Actually, my friend quite liked it namely because he said that it reminded him of pubs in London (though I haven't been to that many London pubs to be able to compare the two). The staff were okay, and they had a small front bar as well as a restaurant out the back (along with a bottle shop). It was a nice, quiet little pub but not one of my favourites.

In part it comes across as a typical suburban pub with a sports bar, a small courtyard for the smokers, a bistro, and a room full of pokies, but it is the front bar that is pretty impressive. At night they have live bands, which while they do have a cover charge, if you happen to be in the pub before they set up you can get away with not actually paying. The front bar also has a decent selection of craft beers, which is another thing that I like, though they only offer them in the front bar. They also have a function room upstairs with a skydeck, however when I was here it was closed, which was a little unfortunate since I really do like my rooftop bars (and the courtyard was pretty ordinary). Not a bad place, but there are certainly much better pubs to spend a Saturday night.

It was probably quite fortuitous when I came here because the new owners were in the process of renovating the place and turning it from a tired old country pub in the middle of nowhere into a much more fashionable establishment that doubles as tea rooms. In fact one of the things that they specialise in is high tea, though when I was passing through I didn't have time to really indulge. However, I must say that they have done a fantastic job, and the gardens out the back are simply amazing. Oh, and I should also mention that the staff are really friendly, and quite talkative, but then that is something that I would expect with country pubs.

I feel this place is above average for what I've seen for motels at this price. For the comes with a larger than usual kitchenette with ample bench space. Also is a large pantry style cupboard just off the kitchenette adjoining the main area. There is also a lot of extra bench space opposite the bed where is also supplied a comfortable bar chair, excellent if you need to make some notes or simply somewhere convenient to eat any ordered in food. Adjacent to the bed is a solid 2-3 seater lounge, which doesn't appear to take up any more room as what it seems as the motel room itself is quite generously spaced. Other noted extras occupants receive are the DVD player with the flat screen 32" LCD, a small spa bath in the bathroom! which I'd love to try, extra storage space around the doorway, and a coffee table which is visible yet stored adjacent to where the TV is. I'm happy with my first stay so far, and when and if I pass through Warrnambool again soon this will definitely be on my check list. I feel right at home.
