Rubber mat for the dog bowls, trash can with locking lid, pet linens for dogs who are used to being on furniture and even a jar of doggie treats. The owners/hosts are friendly and welcoming. The resident Golden Retriever, Ellie is so sweet and gets along well with other dogs. The Inn itself is located in the center of town walking distance to all the great restaurants and shops. There are miles of well maintained sidewalks in this town for easy dog walking. The pet friendly separate guest rooms seem to be far enough away from the rest of the inn to buffer any barking or dog noise, but when we were concerned about going to dinner and leaving the dog - the owners offered to text us if there were any real noise issues. They took the worry out of leaving the dog alone in the room, which made our stay more enjoyable. We will definitely stay here again.

The owner was nice and accomodated us on the night that we needed to stay instead of the night that was actually booked through their system. Below is a list of pros and cons. I would not recommend staying here. My husband and I stayed in the 101 Davis room. Pros: Extremely comfortable King size bed, Clean, non smoking, internet access, 2 soft bath robes provided, plenty of towels provided, owner was nice and accomodating given the situation. Cons: Everything was outdated and in need of an upgrade: cracked stained ceiling, old carpet, window air conditioning unit that sounded like it was going to take off. The private bathroom is across hallway- not connected to room and the window in bathroom did not open nor did it have an exhaust fan. The dorm fridge provided was hardly balancing on an old chair, not safe or stable at all. Lastly their breakfast was okay at best. I've had better breakfast at hotel chains that offer continental breakfast. All that was offered was scrambled eggs, sausage and some fruit. No homemade pastries, pancakes, potatoes, quiche or typical "Bed and Breakfast" food. No jelly or jam and the 4 slice toaster didn't cut it when you had a room full of people waiting to make toast. We were very disappointed, especially after reading the good reviews from others.

We were there for a special event hosted in the spacious yard with a band, cigar vendor, and a bar. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and woke up to a delicious home-cooked breakfast. We called ahead and picked up our order at 11 - Pepperdew cheese bread, breakfast sausage strudel, and two romaine salads with chicken. As we drove home, the food smelled so good that we couldn't resist starting before our arrival. The bread was incredible - pockets of cheesiness in each buttery, savory chunk. The sausage strudel was similarly scrumptous - a savory salvo of brunch fare's best. Finally, the romaine salads provided a healthy palette cleanser - tender chicken, pear, blueberry, walnut, and blue cheese crumbles with spiced pear vinaigrette... every mouthful came together perfectly. Saturday brunch takeout is well worth the drive, from the Southtowns or even the city. Enjoy! Menu at - https://www.facebook.com/RetreatInEden/

We even drove right past it the first time - when they say it used to be a church, they aren't kidding. Marienthal itself is three different pieces - the church is absolutely beautiful, and has been converted into a large reception hall. Behind the church is a beautiful little patio with a fireplace where we were able to have breakfast the next day. The parsonage next door was renovated into a number of guest rooms - the room we were originally in was the smallest of them, but had a beautiful attached bathroom, TV and was still plenty of room for two people. Lastly, there was a building (which I believed housed nuns originally), that has been converted into a bit of a retreat centre. There were a half-dozen or so double rooms with a full kitchen upstairs, and a large meeting area downstairs with another great kitchen, big screen TV with satellite, and lots of couches. We even had access to a great little jacuzzi in the back. This place is an absolute gem in the middle of nowhere. There's a little grill next door if you want to grab some food, but otherwise there is almost nothing in the immediate vicinity. You can drive about half an hour if you're looking for things to do, but if you really want to just get away in peace and quiet, where you know you won't be disturbed, this is absolutely the place to do it. Location and buildings aside, the hosts are really what makes this place special. Both of them go way out of their way to be accommodating. Louise's breakfast was very likely the best breakfast I've ever had in my life. Homemade apple turnovers, local sausages, and the fluffiest, cottage-cheese pancakes that still make my mouth water. And Vinnie is a very entertaining fellow to talk to - he has absolutely no shortage of hilarious stories to tell. The two of them were great to have as hosts. The next time we need a quiet getaway, there's zero doubt about where we'll end up.

We never stayed in a B&B before. I usually stay in hotels, so this was a good experience if you…read morehave a reason to be in the Bradford area. We were using this area to check out the Allegany National Forest and a rest point en route to Niagara Falls. Bob and Carolyn are very nice and accommodating. They offer red/white wines at night between a few hours and serve breakfast in the morning. You pick what you want at checkin and and if you're staying multiple nights, you pick what you want at the end of breakfast for the next day. Lots of bread options. A downside is they don't offer fruits, except the juice which tastes fresh. Breakfast is served between 7-9 so late sleepers may need to adjust. You need to pick the exact start time though. The inn itself has many rooms and each have a private bath. We looked at the majority of them. The second floor rooms reminded me of a frilly dolly house look. They also had tons of bunny decorations for pre-Easter. I thought they were cute. No religious decor. They have queen beds and king beds. I recommend splurging the extra $10 for a king room. We switched our room from a room directly under the innkeepers, who stay on the third floor, (where we were put initially) to the "man" room on the first floor which was very big and had lots of windows and a fireplace. They even had complimentary bathrobes and some toiletries. There was enough space to layout our own toiletries and even a suitcase rack. There was only a small dresser and some hooks so if you had lots of clothes to hang and put away you'd want an additional arrangement. The bed is very comfortable and so were the pillows. The made our bed and changed our towels daily. The house was made in the late 1800s so it creeks. We were the only people there at time of stay so not sure how well you may hear others but I think sound travels well. The house and decor aren't modern but probably in line with the rest of the town judging by the restaurants. There is some general wear and tear you'll see but nothing significant. I wouldn't necessarily advertise this place as romantic or family friendly. More just for business travelers or couples with an agenda. There are games to play and some free snacks and drinks on the second floor. Bob will talk to you a few times if you're around so it doesn't feel like an anonymous vacation. He knows a lot about the area and the history. It kind of felt like we were staying at a distant cousin's or uncle's place more so than a hotel. We even told them when we were leaving for the afternoon or for dinner. We probably didn't have to, though. One odd thing is that there are signs all around telling you to do things like turn off the heater if you're sleeping or turn on the fan if you're showering. One sign they really should have is be careful of the middle foot on the couch because we stubbed our toes numerous times and it hurt like holy hell. Just a tip, if you're on the lower level you can easily hear sounds of cars on the road, even stereos. Usually not a problem later at night but it may wake you in the morning. The most renovated room is the quietest though but we didn't see that one since a guest was in it the first night we were there. It's a king room too. So overall I was happy here but not sure if the B&B style is really our thing.

Came across this place at the last-minute when our regular hotel plans fell through and met a super…read morepleasant surprise -- a charmer of a B&B tucked away in the middle of nowhere. The proprietors are a super friendly (maybe even a touch chatty for my taste, though that might have been the novelty of bringing my chatty four-year-old) retiree couple with an all-American, mildly kitschy taste in decor but a great eye for the kind of details that comfort weary travelers: a well-stocked complimentary snack bar and mini-fridge, a nice set of toiletries, a roll-top desk accompanied by a quirky set of recent magazines. We stayed in the Trieste room, and the window air con was little noisy and vibratey but fortunately it was cool enough outside to open the windows once we got the temp down to a sleepy place. The breakfast options were thoughtful and served quite elegantly. The creaky floors, spiral staircase and overall turn of the century vibe makes for a charming, calming and lovely getaway space -- I only wish we had more than one night to take advantage of the book-filled sitting room (with plenty of historical materials about the area) or even just chill on the porch swing. Next time.
