We were back in the back part of the campground and the directions she did give us were to back into our site, which made it a little tricky, but my husband managed it. We were on site 62. The sites were heavily wooded in the back, which was nice because it provided a lot of shade and was mostly quiet. I will say that the Electric post are very low to the ground and ours was 30 amp, but it didn't come with a 110 V which was kind of frustrating and it seemed like the 110 V didn't work on our friend's site so we had to use another friend's site. We purchased our wood from them and it was super wet and it was difficult to burn so I would also recommend as another reviewer said to get your wood offsite until this is more seasoned. It appears as though they are putting a lot of work into this campground, and I imagine more improvements will come as they continue to work through everything.

I used everyone's favorite search engine and discovered the Westgate. The website looked promising, but I really didn't see how a boutique type hotel could be located where it was. We chanced it and I'm happy we did. We were checked in by a cute kid with tattoos and plugs in his ears. The room was clean, with a soothing, neutral decor (including white linens and duvet -- no mottled bedspreads to hide stains in this place -- yay!), neutral smell (another yay!), and all of the standard amenities. The layout of our room was a bit wacky with the bed waaaaayyy too far from the TV, but if you're staying at this place you're probably there for the casino, National Park, or a pit stop off I-86, so it shouldn't matter. Plus, my bet is that other rooms probably don't have this issue since our room was really large. Overall, this place was a pleasant surprise. P.S. The area is gorgeous.

We have come up here to this Federal Campground with family and friends over the Fourth of July for…read moreabout 5 years and have loved it. There's river access to the Allegheny River so the kayaking is fantastic. There's not many amenities except electric at the large campsites but you can fill up your holding tank of your camper at the entrance to the park with non drinking water which is great. Each site has a picnic table and a large fire ring. There's a large bath house at the entrance and one deeper in the park that is just a restroom which is also great. Unfortunately the park is suffering from under or non functioning commodes, blow dryers showers and is generally in disrepair. The Camp host cleans and resupplies the bath/showers each morning which is not enough when there's a sell out weekend like the fourth. Previous years it was always acceptable so I'm not sure what makes this particular year so different but the restrooms are filthy by late afternoon and just gets worse. This year the stay has been very disappointing. Message is not to come here on a holiday weekend anymore if we ever come back at all!

The rooms were clean and luxurious. We wondered about staying in a B&B over the holidays but it turned out to be a fabulous memorable experience! On Christmas Eve they lead us on a beautiful walk through the town's Mansion district to take in the sparkling Christmas lights after a great meal. The hosts were very knowledgeable of the area and offered us great advice about the local attractions. The Blackberry Inn was the perfect choice for us! J
