I'm not one to typically write a bad review but I'm very disappointed with Galetti's in Lodi. I had a rip in a pair of suede boots a few months back that I brought in for repair. Picked them up and they seemed ok. I wore them the first time after repair and the rip was back. Apparently no sewing was done, it was glued and ripped again. Ok... bummer... thought maybe the location of the rip was unreachable by machine and that was the only fix they could do. I probably should have brought them back in, but didn't. Then shame on me, had another pair of my favorite boots that needed to be resoled. When I picked them up, I remarked at how sloppy the repair appeared, the sole didn't match up to the heel very well and they weren't even polished but had glue all over them. The gentleman there took them to the back and wiped some of the glue off but I was disappointed. I wore these boots while traveling this weekend and something felt wrong in my step. I looked down and the heel is coming completely off and the sole is separating from the entire boot on both boots! I won't be going back... $40.00 wasted on those boots, another $30.00 on the first pair. I'll go back to Cavagnaro's shoe repair in Stockton to get both of these fixed the right way. I was hoping to find a closer place to home but this isn't worth it. It's discouraging to think you've got one job... to repair shoes and if that's your best work, maybe it's time to close up shop. This shop is awesome! They fix things correctly and charge a fair price, service is impeccable like a shoe repair used to be. They can add life to shoes that need a little TLC but not worth spending a lot of money on. I needed a small repair on my favorite boots that are well worn but not ready for retirement. All I know is that they are honest. I took a pair of Steel Tied Red Wing shoes there, which Red Wing shoe store in Modesto assured me had a life time warranty, and also assured me could be restitched, if the stitching around the sole ever broke, or if the shoe needed to be resoled. But Galletti was honest, and assured me that they couldn't be restiched or resoled! And I would rather they be honest with me that to charge me $100 or so, to repair them, then not be able to fit into the shoes any more, or have the restitching break loose! So my only experience with them is they are honest; it they can't do the work, they will tell you, and not waist your money! So it wasn't the answer I wanted, but I greatly appreciate their honesty . I wish I could give ZERO STARS!!! I had recently purchased a Louis Vuitton backpack that had straps that were too long that I wanted to get adjusted so I would be able to wear the backpack. When I went in we measured where I would like the straps to be cut and I was assured that it would be stitched back and rivets would be added so that the purse would look good as new! When I went to pick it up TO MY HORROR, the straps were ruined. The stitching was done HORRIBLY and there were no rivets added. AND THE STRAPS WERE UNEVEN. When I called to voice my displeasure and concerns all he said to me was, well that's where you decided the day you came in. BUT AS A PROFESSIONAL WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE THEM SO UNEVEN?! I have included photos of everything so you can all see for yourself. He told me to just bring it back to get fixed but how could I trust him?! It was utterly heartbreaking to see how someone could just mutilate and ruin such amazing craftsmanship with subpar work. I would have just appreciated if he knew he couldn't achieve what I wanted to be honest!!!! Now I need to take it somewhere else for someone to fix his mistakes. read more

I took a rare pair of Air Jordan 1 retro high top shoes into Galletti's repair shop since I had scuffed the heel of my right shoe. The color is hard to match and I didn't know how to fix the scuff mark, (was the size of a nickle). Mr. Galletti looked them over and said no problem, come back in 3 days and pick them up. When it comes to my expensive Air Jordan's I get pretty nervous, lol. Came back 3 days later and WOW! I couldn't tell where the scuff was and the color was matched perfectly. To top it off they only charged me $10 out the door! I will be doing more business with Galletti shoe repair from here on out. Thanks again!!! read more

I said no. after I picked up & wore them once, both shoes were unglued in the back of each shoe. I asked for a refund but he said no & he would glue at no cost. I find this shop to be NOT very helpful. I had a shoe that needed a heel, and he took one look and said no way. I did leave another pair of shoes that needed a button and the charge was astronomical for what was done. I find the shop to only want to do easy repairs and not bother with anything that might take a little work. This looks like a great shop, and first impression when you walk in is also positive. Clean and organized, etc. I had a pair of shoes soled and they told me it would be done by next Wednesday. I inquired whether to come in the morning or afternoon and after hesitating for a moment, the proprietor said, "afternoon." So, went there on Wednesday around 3pm and you guessed it. Not ready. The person doing the work in the back was still working on them on the bench. I understand that. But there was nothing from the proprietor other than I could wait until they were finished. Decided to go and come back some other time. When I had a chance to come back, they had trouble finding them. The proprietor and the craftsman in the back started looking all over. Turned out to be under a different name, not their fault - mine, but the person looking for the shoes, the proprietor, seemed disoriented and confused. His counter-side manner leaves much to be desired, as well. They need a different person at the front counter. The work was done satisfactorily but it was pricey. Great store! I've been going to them for a while for minor shoe repairs. They do their work quickly and for a fair price.Good stuff. Recently I gave them a purse that I was giving as a gift to be slightly modified. They did exactly as I asked at very low price. Alright, these guys are pretty awesome. Today I took them a watch that was too big for my wrist, so they put an extra hole in the band right there for no charge. Amazing! I've liked them just fine in the past, but today they made me a customer for life. Keep up the good work! As to the two negative reviews by people who had their jobs rejected: I'm sure there were good reasons why they were turned down. I imagine the reasons were explained to them, and that they are just difficult people who left those reasons out of their reviews. I like businesses who are up front about what they can and can't do. I've used Galleti's a few times for cleaning/polishing my boots and they do a great job. They can usually get the job done in 1 day and they're very affordable ($7 for clean/polish). I was so happy to finally find a place that could meet my needs. They repaired the heels on some very expensive stilettos I had for $25! I was really happy w/ how quick they were too. They were ready the next day. I also had them clean up two large Coach, leather totes, that no other company would work on for me. They even told me if they can't make them look better their would be no charge. I was super happy w/ the finished products and my bags are now usuable again. Love this place would highly recommend. I am SO glad my friend recommended Galletti Shoe Repair! I have a beloved Coach purse and the stitching on the handles started unraveling about 6 months after I bought it. Pffft! Coach quality? I let it go for about 3 years and the leather where the stitching unraveled was stretched. I wasn't sure it was fixable. I brought it to Galletti's and got it back in two days, with BEAUTIFUL work done despite the stretching. I only asked that the one side be fixed, he fixed it AND reinforced all the other stitching on the handles. To say I was impressed is an understatement. Galletti's also cleans purses. It was Winter, cold, when I picked it up, I asked if they cleaned purses and was told they do but it would be best to bring it back for cleaning when the weather is warmer. It was explained the drying process takes MUCH, MUCH longer when it is cold. I appreciate the honesty and the explanation. I could have been told 'yes' so a profit could be made, but the honesty; so rare these days. I will be bringing my purse back for a cleaning. Another note: Galletti's does take credit cards, but there is a minimum 25$ or a service charge is applied. I was looking at the faux (great quality) designer sunglasses ( 10$ ) and was told if I bought a pair the service charge would be waved. So for 20$ I had my purse like new and a pair of killer D&G shades! read more

Drove all the way to Galletti's Shoe Repair on advisement of a friend after I told her that I needed a bag repaired. Obviously it's difficult to describe what needs to be repaired on a bag, so I figured that it would be best to take it in to see it first-hand. However, when I went in and explained what needed to be repaired, they promptly told me that they couldn't handle it. They even had the gaul to say that I should just take a permanent marker as a substitute for repairing the trim on the leather part of the bag. Can you say...uh...no thanks?! I got the impression that they didn't really care to help me nor would it be worth their time financially to do the repair work.
