We came to Nordstrom Rack to find reasonably priced clothing for a wedding, which they delivered on. While I was looking through the fabulous shoe selection, I must have dropped my wallet. Contents of the wallet were the standard: id, credit cards, cash ($45), but also included prescription sunglasses. The wallet itself was my mother's. After our Metro ride back to Eastern Market, I realized I didn't have my wallet. Once my initial panic subsided, I began to retrace my steps, riding the Metro back to Pentagon City. I looked, and looked, but no luck. I went back to my son's place feeling defeated. Fast forward a few months, the day before my birthday, I got a package from Nordstrom Rack at Pentagon City. I figured it was a gift from my son, remembering something I liked back in March. Well...imagine my utter surprise and astonishment to find the package contained my long lost WALLET!!!! Not only the wallet, but ALL the contents as well (YES, even the money)!! I was overjoyed!! My faith in humanity restored. WHAT a birthday present!! The store is both expansive and constraining at the same time; it's large and divided by normal and plus-sizing, but the selection in both is limiting. As in, tacky. I know the target audience is the urban/streetwear crowd, but honestly, one would find much cooler stuff at Up Against the Wall/Commander Salamander. To be more specific, I saw plasticky jackets with plasticky fur hoods (if there is such a thing as faux faux leather, that's it), a bunch of crumpled plaid linen shorts and smocked halter tops on the $6.99 rack, those tight, stiff cable-knit hoodies that you would find better quality of at American Eagle Outfitters or even F21, more plastic braided belts (of the bad, metallic variety) and print leggings that manage to be crazy in a bad way (and I happen to love crazy printed leggings). I mean, they've got like the Ed Hardy tattoo pattern on flesh tone. Ugh. I feel like they're a rip-off of a rip-off; trying to be crazy when they're not crazy enough. Yeah. The dressing rooms are horrible with nothing but a drapey cloth that barely fastens shut, so expect to be paranoid the whole time about baring your jiggly bits to everyone around you. I'm giving one star back for service because the sales associate at checkout was delightful. We had a nice conversation and she even listened to me vent a little about my life for a few minutes. Anna warmly greeted me, listened to what I was looking for and then found beautiful items that worked with my tall-petite body type. Unprofessional, unresponsive, and condescending -- take your luxury bags elsewhere…read more I consigned a like-new $5,000+ tote with Ella Rue in February 2026. The owner listed it at $2,300 with a 55% payout and claimed it would sell within weeks. Instead, I spent six months chasing updates through texts, calls, emails, and website tickets. By summer, they stopped responding entirely. When I visited on September 2, they refused to answer a basic question without an appointment and made me wait until September 11. At that appointment, the owner repeatedly disparaged my bag as outdated, then told me it had sold for $1,875. She initially tried to pay me only 50%. Only after I produced the contract did she apologize and acknowledge the agreed 55%. Even then, my final payment was less than 55% because they deducted an undisclosed "processing fee" of several dozen dollars--something never mentioned throughout the entire process. Six months of silence, condescension, attempted underpayment, and a surprise fee. I'll take my other luxury bags to New York. Avoid this store.
