I loved the meals I ate at Galloway's when I was in Boqueron. The food takes some time to come out, but I could tell that everything was made fresh to order. I'd rather wait a little longer for a quality meal then instantly receive blah food. The first time I went I was still somewhat full from a late breakfast. I ordered the sorullitos (fried corn sticks) to have something and as full as I was, I still ate the whole plate. My girlfriend had the chicken bacon sandwich and plain mofungo. We could tell the mofungo was excellent, even though we had never had it before. The sandwich was big enough for two people. The second time we ate there I was hungrier so I ordered the Pechuga de Pollo Asopaos (Chicken Gumbo). It came with more sorullitos which were great - and the gumbo came out in a little metal pot. It was the best gumbo I've ever had, including gumbo I've eaten at top rated places in New Orleans. I couldnt finish it because of the portion size; it was big enough for two, maybe even three people; but I wish I could have! I fed the sorullitos I couldn't finish to the beautiful tarpin fish that swim around the restaurant (it's on a pier). My girlfriend ordered tostones (fried plantains), mozzarella sticks, and spinach/artichoke dip appetizers as her meal. Everything came out perfect and fresh. While we were there we had the opportunity to experience their St. Patrick's day Parade / celebration. This is a must see. The whole town / region gets together and marches through the town ending up at the restaurant. If you make advanced reservations you can sit in the dining area after the parade and enjoy corned beef and cabbage. I was pleased with this meal as well, and the party was a great time. The only negative thing I can think to say is that they add 15% tip automatically to every check. I don't like that some restaurants do this, but I understand why they do. As long as it's clearly marked on the menu and bill (it was) I tolerate it. My advice: if you find yourself in Boqueron head over to Galloway's. Be patient, as your food may take some time to come out, but you will be happy and satisfied when it does. If you are looking for something to do next St. Paddy's day, take a trip down to Boqueron in Cabo Rojo and enjoy a great time! read more

I felt like was was in the Keys of Florida.. The freshest seafood in Puerto Rico..We ordered, my friend was starving and 30 minutes later, (There was only one waitress and though it wasn't crowded, it still took time for our food to arrive..) I would not suggest this place to someone to eat at. On Saturday night it was pretty empty which should have been a clue considering it's physical location being in the heart of the action. We ordered the camararones mofongo and for $19.95 it was quite the let down. it didn't have much flavor and was not all that large. It is definitely not a plate you share unless it's just a snack and at $20 that's one he hell of a snack. They are on the water which is nice but aside from that it felt more like a tourist trap than a quality go-to locals spot. We stopped there again the next night and it was the same thing, empty. This time we just tried some finger bar food. It was okay at best. Won't be stopping here again. Save your money read more

Yelp has the location wrong, but thankfully we found the vibrant little deck restaurant and just before the kitchen closed (10 pm on a Friday night). However the karaoke was just getting started and we definitely enjoyed the entertainment! Plus the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The whole area in the center of Boqueron is something out of a movie. Beautiful, chill and sensational west cost PR island flair. We love. read more

I went for lunch. The food was decent, but nothing memorable. I had the fish sandwich. It was pretty good. I wish it had real cheese and not cheese food. The best part of this restaurant is that if you sit on the back porch, you can see and feed all of the large fish off of the patio. We had a great time watching the fish. read more

Our drinks are empty, no one has asked about refills. We aren't the only table that has been waiting. Most places close by 8 in PR. We have the option of continuing to stay or hope we can find something else. I don't recommend anyone attempt to eat here. Had the shrimp creole, and mofongo stuffed with lobster, along with conch salad. Ingredients tasted fresh and of excellent quality. Food was fantastic. Service was excellent. Water view was beautiful, nice spot for sunset dinner. Feeding the tarpon swimming next to the tables was fun too. read more

Waiter service, awful! 1-Didn't ask for what drinks we were having...had to get our drinks at the bar. 2-never had a quality check with us, didn't let us know reasons for food taking so long. Took 1:45min for food to arrive!!! 3- They included 20% tip for a party of 10 but given the fact service was so poor only gave 10% ..waiter had the audacity to demand tip difference. I honestly don't get these negative reviews. My friends and I went TWICE on our vacation because we liked this place so much. The food was so good, and the view from the back of the place (located right on the water) was beautiful. Its the best spot in Boqueron. Our first visit was at night, we walked around Boqueron after our meal and enjoyed all the lively stuff going on, live music, karaoke, and dancing in the streets. Our second visit was for lunch, we parked and then hit up the raw clam and oyster stand right out front, ate the most delicious clams I've ever had, then enjoyed the gorgeous view in the daylight while eating more delicious food. The staff speak Engish. Every single thing we ordered was yummy. I would absolutely recommend this place. read more

Galloways is always my first stop in Boqueron. The bartenders are lovely and you can always count on a great piña colada. The food varies from Puerto Rican specialties--such as mofongo, plantain soup, and rice and beans--to pub specials such as sandwiches, pastas and salads. For appetizers, try the breaded chicken wings, fish chunks, or jalapeño poppers. Drinks are reasonably priced and there are the occasional drink specials. My only qualm is it dies down into the evening when the other Boqueron spots are hopping. Even karaoke nights are not enough to hold a crowd. I recommend more music, live or DJ, as competition on the weekend gets tight and more patrons choose to go to the smaller bars down the street that feature more trendy music and cheap drinks. There are a lot of little details that can be tweaked to make Galloways better but I do enjoy going here and as long as it remains open and I'm on the island, I'll be sure to visit. read more

Salty fried chicken, plantain soup spent taste like plantains, slow service, for vegetarians the mofongo has bacon which they don't consider meat, so be sure to ask for it without the chicharron. Well, I've never given such a poor review of a restaurant or bar before in the few years that I've been on yelp. I guess there's always a first, and this one is it. It's a Tuesday in Puerto Rico and many places in Boqueron are closed right now. The resort where we are staying has a great pool area, but the bar is only open on the weekends. They recommended that we go into town for a Mojito. We tried one spot and they didn't have the ingredients so they referred us to Galloways. There were three of us, and we asked for six Mojitos because we were bringing three back for our friends. When we ordered the six, the big guy behind the bar told us it was going to be a lot of work and take a long time and asked us if he could make them for us "frozen" and put it all in a blender. My mother-in-law who lives in Puerto Rico said that she had had it that way before, and it wasn't as good. He said he would make them and sighed, and as he proceeded to open and shut the cooler for ice, he was slamming it open and shut. When he finished making them he brought them over and said "I made them strong so that you wouldn't come back." We told them that we each were only having one each, and the other three were for our friends and he said "sure they are." I have no idea why this bartender (possibly the owner?) was being so rude! I will never go back, and I would recommend that you find another spot as well! PS it cost $43 for six Mojitos in small plastic cups. And they were not strong like he said they were. read more

We sit down in the bar, The bartender Sunny take care of us. We got the coconut shrimp, octopus salad, carrucho salad for appetizer was very fresh seafood. For main entrée we got mofo go of shrimp which was very stuff of shrimp very good creole sauce and my husband order the dorado al ajillo like I said before very fresh fish also. If I could give no stars I would. STAY AWAY from Galloways. Service was terrible. Waitress was MIA for more than 30 minutes and she included her 8 person gratuity on our 5 party ticket. Kids meal was bland and fries were cold and soggy. Chicken tenders had no flavor whatsoever and no dipping sauce. She forgot a Caesar salad but didn't fail to include it on the ticket. My churrasco a la parrilla was overcooked even when I ordered it medium. Although they advertised a special at the entrance she was dumbfounded when we proceeded to order it. She had to go back to the kitchen and apparently verify that such a thing existed. Music sucked unless you're a gringo that enjoys traveling to distant places and hear the same music you hated in the 80s. The eating area was fly and crow infested and nothing in place to keep either away, only a sign that asked not to feed the birds. Of course, it's the customers job to keep filth away. read more

This place is mediocre. Other than for such a nice back view it does not have anything else I would like to mention as a positive. The service was bad. The server was rude. If you are getting the red snapper, take the small one, it's $10 cheaper and they serve the same size as the small one. I ordered a piña colada. It was watery.
