Keep in mind these are only here in season…read more (Starting around June 1st - September 15th) The downside to coming to Mexico to swim with the Whale Sharks is you have to wear those ridiculous life vests, but in Isla Mujeres it's almost a guaranteed sighting. Due to government regulations no free diving . The life vest makes it seem like more of a tourist trap than pelagic adventures in other countries. Still a great experience to be in the water with such magical creatures.

Once a whale shark was spotted, the captain dropped us in the water, perfectly positioned to see the whale shark. Once we returned, we stopped at Playa Norte (some the prettiest water I have ever seen in my life) and they made some fresh ceviche for everyone on board. What a great day and I would recommend their services to anyone.

Took an hour to get to the fishing spot and after we had caught nine fish (everyone in our party reeled at least one in) we headed back early because we had some seasick people and it was raining. They filleted the fish we asked for and we ate them for dinner. Even with our choice to cut it short, it was still a great experience and would highly recommend them!

There was a group of 6 total on our boat which was nice as it wasn't crowded and everyone could catch at least 1 fish. The crew work really hard to catch fish and make sure everyone is having fun. They are very knowledgeable about dishing and you can tell they know what they're doing. They filleted the fish on the way back to the marina for us but unfortunately none of the restaurants at our resort would cook it for us as some other resorts will. Hubby booked our tour from a third party so he just paid fees for dock tax and snorkeling on site. Our private transportation got us here a bit early so we walked around and took some photos of this beautiful marina and ocean. They even had a massage parlor on the little beach. We were there in the afternoon so most people were already out at sea. There was barely any other people at the marina and it was so nice & quiet which is always what I prefer. I recommend book a tour here whenever you visit Cancun. Caribbean Sea is so beautiful and snorkeling gets you to tour the reefs and tropical fish even underground museum. Or just some sailing at sea is relaxing enough to have a very good time for a couple hours or even a day!

We were there during late September so it wasn't prime fishing season and we didn't catch a ton but we still had a blast. We caught trigger fish, baracuda, and small bait fish. One of my favorite parts was when they took us snorkeling. We saw huge sting rays, turtles, and all kinds of fish. We had to laugh at the catamaran that dropped off 30+ people and made them swim shoulder to shoulder while we were free to do as we pleased. Plus while we were in the water they made us fresh ceviche from the trigger fish we had just caught for lunch. It was absolutely amazing! This was the first time my sons (18, 16, 13) and I ever fished. Everything was provided on the boat (drinks, fishing equipment and bait). All you need is swim trunks, a long sleeve sun shirt, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. We took some anti-nausea pills just in case. Carlos and Carlos were our captain and 1st mate. Carlos worked all day running 5 fishing lines for us. Within 2hrs I caught my first ever fish (5lb Mahi). We caught 2 Mahi in total and that was lunch! Carlos and Carlos made us the best ceviche ever with fresh Mahi while we snorkeled with mana rays and a turtle at a reef! Great experience!!! English speaking crew!

Martin and Mike seriously made us feel so welcomed and we got to cross of 3 bucket list items while with them for an afternoon. They tended to us immensely and gave my boyfriend the most spectacular fishing experience of his life. I truly don't think anything will ever top this experience. About 20 minutes into the trip we hooked 5 Mahi mahi and reeled in 4. Then the lines went quiet for a little while and 20 minutes after we hooked a 200 cm SAILFISH ! My boyfriend reeled him in for 40 minutes and finally we brought him onboard and took a photo. It was seriously an experience of a lifetime. I personally reeled in a "Bonita" or tuna and it tasted so delicious sashimi style. Then, after this unbeatable fishing day to top everything off we went snorkeling and swimming with fish and sting rays. One of my bucket list items. Mike afterwards filleted and cleaned up our fish for us to take back to our resort and had the hotel "EL TEJ" make a delicious lunch for us. First time ever coming to Cozumel and going Deep Sea Fishing. They picked us up at our hotel dock…read moreat 6 am. We drove 30 min south and started fishing. I lost my first fish. We came during the off season. (September) and we were afraid we weren't going to catch anything. It was a slow day but we did catch fish. 1 big Wahoo, 2 Barracuda and a black fin Tuna. It was a little different than I expected. When the fish went with the bait Jose reeled down and handed it to us and we reeled the remainer of the time. I am use to being the one able to have the pleasure of hooking the fish and feeling it bite down but not on this trip. It was a long day. A little slower than I'd like but only because we came at a slow time, nothing to do with the Captains and they were great. My only complaint would be that we booked an 8 hour trip. We left at 6 and expected to be back at 2. Well we stopped fishing at 12:30 and headed back to the hotel and got here around 1 ish. We were still charged for an 8 hour day even though we didn't fully use the 8 hours which was irritating but it is what it is. We caught 4 fish. My husband was happy that we actually caught something and he caught bigger fish than me. We will most likely use them next time we come to Cozumel, because they were very friendly and all knowing. :) I just might be a little more firm on the 8 hours or ask to go snorkeling if the fishing is dead towards the end of the day. :)

His Mate, Roberto was extremely attentive to all the tackle, bait and the 5 lines out at a time. Last year, his Mate [and backup Capt.], Jose, was just as good. I fish a lot and I can't wait to return to Cozumel in 2016 and fish Bandida Charters with Capt. Luis again. -Terry
