We came during the off season. (September) and we were afraid we weren't going to catch anything. It was a slow day but we did catch fish. 1 big Wahoo, 2 Barracuda and a black fin Tuna. It was a little different than I expected. When the fish went with the bait Jose reeled down and handed it to us and we reeled the remainer of the time. I am use to being the one able to have the pleasure of hooking the fish and feeling it bite down but not on this trip. It was a long day. A little slower than I'd like but only because we came at a slow time, nothing to do with the Captains and they were great. My only complaint would be that we booked an 8 hour trip. We left at 6 and expected to be back at 2. Well we stopped fishing at 12:30 and headed back to the hotel and got here around 1 ish. We were still charged for an 8 hour day even though we didn't fully use the 8 hours which was irritating but it is what it is. We caught 4 fish. My husband was happy that we actually caught something and he caught bigger fish than me. We will most likely use them next time we come to Cozumel, because they were very friendly and all knowing. :) I just might be a little more firm on the 8 hours or ask to go snorkeling if the fishing is dead towards the end of the day. :)

We were sold "Sail[ing] from Puerto Aventuras to the second largest coral reef system in the world on a luxury 65-foot catamaran. Swim among hundreds of tropical fish species, turtles, whale sharks, and fabulous coral reefs on this guided snorkeling adventure. While you swim, a meal will be prepared on board. Enjoy an exquisite lobster or New York strip steak with a full open bar including mixed drinks, beer, margaritas, soda and purified water." The last few days had been windy and the seas very rough. That morning was no different. We decided to at least check in at the lobby and see what the plan was. At that point, even if the vendor didn't cancel, we considered eating the cost of the excursion and staying safe and happy at the hotel. Weather is unpredictable but especially so in the tropics. At the lobby, we were informed that the boat would still go out but snorkeling was a 50-50 chance. I'm an avid diver and I adore sailing so I was hoping at least a boat ride was still possible, if not snorkeling. We risked it, erring on the side of adventure. About 15 minutes later, upon exiting the shuttle, we were immediately informed that the boat would NOT be going out NOR would snorkeling be an option. The plan was, instead, to take us to a small bay in the harbor and let us swim. They'd open up the bar early in hopes that everyone drank too much to care. I cared. I find it highly unlikely that information about conditions changed since we left the hotel. No doubt our activities coordinator at Barceló had been misinformed to ensure the cruise wasn't cancelled. I felt duped. If I had known this info upfront, we would have just opted to stay at the hotel. No big deal. What we were sold: A catamaran ride and snorkeling adventure. What we got: A stationary booze cruise. The boat never opened a sail. They ran out of wine and other drinks. And we were stuck there FOR FOUR HOURS. We made do with what we could but the whole smoke and mirrors show was hard to swallow. What should have been the icing on the cake (lunch, bar and water slide) felt like an expensive 4-hour jail. Let me put it this way: When the crew announced that we were finally headed back to the dock, the entire boat cheered or exclaimed, "Thank god." So I wasn't the only one who felt duped.

They took us to the snorkeling place and then said it was to windy!! Surprise, surprise. Then they take you back in a cove and let you swim for a few minutes. We had a perfect vacation so far and this just ruined the trip. I understand they can't control that weather but then cancel the tour instead of just stealing our money!!

Rene and his dive masters care for the waters of Cozumel deeply, often doing their part to keep the reefs safe (removing fishing lines, weights, etc.) and have great knowledge of sealife, large and small. The boat is kept super clean and the captain and staff on the boat are always there to pick you up and help you get back on the boat at the conclusion of the dive. We have made many friends over the years diving with Rene and look forward to our time diving each summer when we visit. If in Cozumel for diving, YOU MUST go with Chili Charters.

Towards the end, it was a party with them, it was such a great way to end my trip. The vibes were WONDERFUL. During the experience, we had freshly made ceviche and burgers. They were also accommodating with my dairy allergy and the drinks they made were fantastic! I appreciated the crew prioritizing safety while keeping the environment exciting and fun. I loved it! This isn't your average boring tour. Quickie brings the passion and fun on your adventure. We started off our morning by getting picked up by Don Juan and Quickie. While the tour time might seem early, it's 100% worth it because it allows you to skip out on lines and crowds. We headed to Tulum to see the Mayan ruins. During our ride Quickie gave us a brief bio on himself and then provided us a lot of historical context for the ruins. When we arrived he dropped us off and let us do a self-guided tour which was nice because he wasn't being overbearing like a normal tour guide would be. Once we were ready to leave Quickie met us back at the entrance and took us to a hole in the wall spot that had amazingggg tacos. Next up on our list was visiting a cenote in Tulum. Quickie and Don Juan had all of our equipment ready for us which made the process nice and easy. Quickie picked a cenote for us that was breathtaking but not swamped with people (very important!!!). We snorkeled in the cenote with Quickie while Don Juan watched all of our belongings. Quickie provided us with knowledge on the cenote and even took pics for us. After the cenote we went snorkeling with turtles, stingrays, fix, and squids. It was a great time. Following snorkeling, Quickie took us to another hole in the wall restaurant where we had more amazing food and drinks. Our tummies felt very satisfied! We then visited another cenote where we had it all to ourselves. It was AMAZING!!! Truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. To say Quickie is a wonderful guide would be an understatement. Both Quickie and Don Juan treat you like family. When we first met up in the morning Quickie said we would just be hanging with friends who happened to be locals. I didn't understand what he meant at first but once our time together came to an end it all made sense. Quickie goes out of his way to make sure your comfortable and well taken care of. I cannot recommend Quickie and Don Juan enough. The tour is well worth the money and time. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not booking this tour. I left as one happy camper and look forward to booking with Quickie again on my next visit. 10/10 recommend!

The amount of time spent on each activity was perfect. Long enough to enjoy everything and short enough to not feel as though it was dragging on. Quickie has extensive knowledge about the history of the tulum area and gives you excellent history and current states of the local environment. The cenotes were gorgeous and pristine. The zip lining was fun and safe. At every stage we were met with quick assistance and service. We went to quickies favorite taco place which was amazing. Hand made tortillas and a large selection of different meats. Surprisingly they put rice and beans on the tacos, if desired. The catamaran was huge and the ocean was gorgeous. We went snorkeling and saw sting rays and several turtles. There is a generous amount of drinks available to unwind with on the ocean at the end of the excursion. Quickie is a fun funny and knowledgeable guy. He is extremely thoughtful of all your needs. Not one time was I uncomfortable or needed to ask for something. I absolutely recommend taking advantage of his services when in the Tulum area.

Never seen so much colour under the sea before, felt so privileged especially when an inquisitive turtle swam up to have a nosy at us. On Isla Mujeres, instead of staying in the north of the island (where we docked), John was excited to rent a golf cart and so we toured the less touristic, south part the island. The north also had it's own charm, street vendors, Playa Norte (rated in the top 10 of the world's best beaches) plus it was also home to a phenomenal dulce de leche icecream, so much so I had 2 of them in about half hour

We came here for a shore excursion while on a Royal Caribbean cruise, and it was worth every penny!…read more The excursion we chose was a manatee swim that included lunch. All of the employees here were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the park itself is very nice! Our manatee swim was such an incredible experience! We had a party of 9, so we lucked out and had only us in the group . Our girl who was with us was so kind, patient and very knowledgeable. The manatee was seriously such an amazing experience I'd definitely recommend for everyone to try! While I'm sure photographing kids and even adults during this experience isn't easy... the photographer did an AMAZING job with the pictures, and I love that they have an app where you can download all of the pictures right there when you buy them! The lunch buffet was GREAT, they had the most amazing potato tacos and they really did have a great variety of options so even the pickiest of eaters can find something there! After our the lunch we went and swam in the beautiful beach area where the sand was amazing and so were the bar tenders. My oldest got stung by a jellyfish while we were there and the bartender was so friendly and got us some vinegar to put on it (who knew that helped? Not me!) and a couple mariachi gentlemen came over and sang to her to make her feel better . One of the men from the shop right by there helped me locate Benadryl from the pharmaceria in the park. Overall I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about this place and if you're traveling to Cozumel this is a great experience and park to consider. They're friendly, welcoming and the park is beautiful!

Purchased through a cruise line. The tour guide met us at the port, separated us into groups, and…read moresent us to the park in separate Taxis. Once we arrived, the guide gave us a brief rundown on our schedule for the day, then showed us to the lockers to put everything away. We were told we could not take sunglasses or anything else out to the dolphin encounter. They really don't want you to take anything that could have a camera in it to take your own photos. We were given life jackets, and before going out to the pier, a photographer asked if we were interested in photos. We chose to get them with the dolphin and the Manatee. They had a security guard checking wristbands and for cameras before you go on the pier. Our group was taken down in the water to stand on a small ledge that was maybe 18" wide, about 3' below the surface of the water. This was in the ocean with constant waves coming in, pushing us. There was a green fence behind the ledge, and you could tell by the way it was bent all over that people had been hanging onto it for years to stay on the ledge. It was just a normal wire chain link fence with lots of sharp edges, so you had to be careful where you held on. I believe the purpose of the fence in the water was intended to catch the seaweed floating in the water. With as much money as this place makes, you think they would be able to afford an actual rail for people to hold onto. They brought out the dolphin, and the whole encounter felt very rushed. We were given a few seconds each to pet him as he went down the line. On the next pass, we got to rub his head, those who chose to buy photos got a little more time for the photographer to get pictures. We took turns rubbing his belly, and then those who were comfortable swimming off the ledge got to swim and splash with the dolphin. Many stayed on the ledge and skipped this due to the waves. I had to pull a couple of people back in myself who had trouble getting back to the ledge. The last activity was putting on a mask and listening to the dolphin squeak underwater, only 4 people felt comfortable swimming in the waves to do that. We got out of the dolphin area and got into a similar enclosure with the Manatee, which was also rushed. The only people who got to spend time with the Manatee were those who opted for photos prior to getting in. The changing rooms were nice in the locker area. We went in to look at our photos and were told to choose our own photos from the group. I was wearing a similar sun shirt as the guy next to me, and I somehow chose several of his photos while selecting from the thumbnail photos. The person assisting us became upset, claiming I was trying to get pictures for the other people. The price for the Dolphin photos was $140, we were given the option of choosing 1 photo with the Manatee for $40 or all of them for $60. We ended up paying $200 for all photos, and they printed 2 of our choice. To get your digital photos, you have to download their app and get the photos while connected to their WiFi. They took so long processing our order and then showing us how to get their app to get the photos that we missed the only Sea Lion show. We walked around the rest of the park and found the Snuba counter. We would have put our swimsuits back on to do that, but there was no one at the counter and no signs saying they were closed for the day. We saw signs for massage, but when we asked, we were led to an area behind a bar, nowhere near the signs. That seemed a little sketchy, so we walked away. When I looked at a map later, it showed the massage area was near the lagoon, not where we had been taken. We had lunch at the included buffet, don't recall what it was. There was a very nice server going around taking drink orders and bringing prompt refills. After lunch, we walked around in the gardens and the Mayan exhibit until it was time to go. To get back to the ship, we were split into separate Taxis again. We got back to the port on time, and we had plenty of time left before we had to be back on the ship.

I cannot recommend "Fishing Al Gusto" in Playa Del Carmen enough!!!…read more I booked via "fishingbooker.com" and selected a 3/4 day trip of fishing and snorkeling. This was the first time my sons (18, 16, 13) and I ever fished. Everything was provided on the boat (drinks, fishing equipment and bait). All you need is swim trunks, a long sleeve sun shirt, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. We took some anti-nausea pills just in case. Carlos and Carlos were our captain and 1st mate. Carlos worked all day running 5 fishing lines for us. Within 2hrs I caught my first ever fish (5lb Mahi). We caught 2 Mahi in total and that was lunch! Carlos and Carlos made us the best ceviche ever with fresh Mahi while we snorkeled with mana rays and a turtle at a reef! Great experience!!! English speaking crew!

Then while we snorkeled at a beautiful reef they filleted one of the fish and made fresh ceviche right there on the boat. By the time we were done snorkeling the ceviche was ready to eat with chips. Delicious! Highly recommend them.
