My aunt has also been under her care for some time and recently chose to transition to her son, who now practices alongside her. Unfortunately, I did not, and waited there listening to this annoying receptionist, at some point I decided to wait outside until it was my turn. I was given a lot of paperwork that not even the receptionist could explain to me what were there for. (this were not the regular papers you fill out at the dentist). Their machines were so old that it took about an hour for the assistant to make the X-Rays (second red flag), then the hygienist came and told me I needed an "INTERMEDIATE CLEANING", thing that I never heard before in my life and I do cleanings every year. Then Dr. Elizabeth came and said about 2 words and did not even bother to explain anything to me. Lastly, another staff member came and said they wouldn't do the regular cleaning because I needed the "intermediate" which was $120. I told them I made the appointment for my annual check and regular cleaning and that was what I wanted to do. Again, they refused and the annoying receptionist was extremely rude to me because I decided not to do the cleaning they said. Today, one day later I went to Sage Dental Coral Gables and they did not even mention something about a deep cleaning, they did the X-Rays in about 10 minutes or less and immediately proceeded with the regular cleaning and then the Dr. was amazing and actually took the time to explain everything to me. Oh, and all paperwork was filled online and you wait in the car until it is your turn. I called about 10 different places and NONE of them knew about something called "INTERMEDIATE CLEANING" you are either a regular or a deep cleaning which requires anesthesia. That's how I feel every time I go see Dr. De-Aguirre which is not often enough but she always makes me feel better after giving me " the bad news " by fixing what is broken and giving sound dental advice. Like Patrick said she never gives you the feeling she is trying to run up the bill on you with unnecessary treatments. I had an emergency where I broke off one of my front teeth and had a public speaking engagement for Rotary in front of 300 people and she got me looking presentable the next day. Make an appointment in the Coral Gables office if you can. She is there Tuesdays and Thursdays - nice location great parking and the best dentist in town with the best smile ! (I'm 61) I star to feel pain in this 2nd implant, went to the clinic and talked about this. then, my implant moves on two sides. (not alignment on two axis) go today and they remove everything, I'm talking about this tooth, and the screw. and NOW they decided put graft. I'm going to pass now for the same wait and physical process. I'm not a dentist but the LOGIC indicate that they forgot to put graft, initially. (the extraction has a lot of years)They prescribed me 3 diff pills for pain and infection BUT didn't tell me when and how. (every X hour, etc.) VERY disappointed and helpless. (Kendall clinic) Part2 When I returned, to put my implant again, seating on the chair with everything ready on the table (tools etc) the dentist ASK ME how I feel. I told her that I'm upset and frustrated, because I'm going to suffer again for the same process, and I believe that the implant failure was because they forgot put me graft. THEN the dentist decided to interrupt the treatment and do not put me the implant. And now after waiting months, I don't have nothing, no implant. Is this ethical? In my opinion, NO. is this abandoned? In mi opinion YES. Then, in another clinic, the dentist said that I need sinus augmentation (often called a sinus lift). Because my extractions are old. I was told well this is our price and there's nothing we can do about it. Deep cleaning today or nothing at all. I understand that treatment needs can vary, but this was not explained upfront when booking. I ended up paying $49 for X-rays and leaving without receiving the cleaning that was advertised. This felt misleading, and I would have appreciated clearer communication before the appointment so I could make an informed decision. I would recommend asking clear questions before booking any new patient special with this office.
