Immediately we were welcomed and we began talking "skate or die" lingo. The two fellas were cool as hell and informative with educating my son. The gear purchased : We ended up buying Thunder Bushings 97, Thunder Bushings 90, Southside Slabs Hardware, Bones Big Balls Reds Bearings, Spitfire Wheels F4 Conical and Stickers! I used to go to this shop back when it was in Seabrook. They have a ton of comics back stock and rare items on the wall. They also do some good sales for back issues and books etc for a good price. When the are chatting amongst themselves it is not clear if they are helping a customer but ended up seeming to just be the staff. I experienced this each visit. Despite the organization, the store does feel a bit dirty. I will likely still go by to browse but wish they had better service.

Took over a week so I was a little disappointed that it took so long versus other tennis shops whereby I purchased racquets which took only a few days and I was able to track the delivery of my racquet. I also am very disappointed in the stringing of the racquet. The top strings were very loose which resulted in a "tang" and vibration when I mishit the ball. I complained about this but no response. All in all, I will probably not use nor recommend this shop to my friends.

Everytime our family visits the strand, a visit to Play on The Strand is always a required stop…read more My youngest daughter and I get bored with the whole bougie shopping scene on the strand, so my wife turns us loose while she shops. My daughter and I always head over to Play on The Strand with our pockets full of quarters. We head straight to the back and hit up the arcade. They've got some pinball machines back there along with a couple of arcade games. We fill their machines up with quarters then check out all the cool toys they have. They have a lot of cool toys in there and my daughter seems to always sucker me into buying her something when we leave. I always enjoy supporting small businesses here in Galveston, and their toys are of good quality. I highly recommend a visit to anyone who visits The Strand. Grab you a pocket full of quarters and stop by. Enjoy.
