Well wouldn't you know, the wind whisked some off the strings, and either a door frame or a thorny bush deflated some others. Not only were most of the other party stores in the city closed, but the few that were open couldn't replace the large silver Mylar ballon letters spelling out L-O-V-E that I lost. Enter Balloons & Events Over Atlanta. Not only did the owner say she could replace the large letter I lost, but she agreed to leave her family on a Sunday afternoon, while her shop was closed, and drive through a torrential downpour (complete with flash flooding) to arrive within the hour. On top of that, she arrived with the smile and calm, pleasant attitude that I would never be able to bring under the same circumstances. She had me in and out in 5 minutes, and even affixed a sturdy weight to each letter so it wouldn't carry away in the wind. Moreover, instead of taking the time to boot up her payment system, she took down my credit card info and agreed to process my transaction an email a receipt Monday, so I could get back to my hotel and get ready in time for the wedding. Goes without saying, and it's already in their name, but I'll go ahead and say it: I highly recommend Balloons & Events Over Atlanta for any balloon and event needs all over Atlanta. I called Balloons over Atlanta and they couldn't understand why they weren't delivered as they saw them on May 1 ready for a delivery. Well, so my 9 year old received his balloons on May 4 and the bigger disappointment was that they misspelled his name on the balloon. We called both of the numbers we had for them, the Yelp one and the one you find on google, and no one answered on either number. My friends all called from their phones too, and it just went to voicemail, except one time they ended the call, so they knew we were calling. It took a threatening (to go to the police) text to one of the numbers from my friend for them to immediately respond. They told her to call one of the numbers we were calling the whole night and surprise surprise they didn't answer. I was going to file a report with the police, but they returned my money via PayPal the next day only because of the threat to go to the police. You best believe I'm going to the Better Business Bureau and write about my horrible experience everywhere I can to warn others not to waste their time and money. Saturday was my 21st birthday, and the fact that I had to deal with this was incredibly frustrating and not to mention I'll only turn 21 ONCE. Overall, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE THEY DO NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICE YOU PAY FOR, you're better off spending more money for another service that will actually pick you up.

From the start, Rich was incredibly easy to work with--super responsive, organized, and flexible. He gave us everything we needed to be as involved (or not) in the music selection process as we wanted, which took a lot of pressure off (if I so desired lol). One of the best parts was how easy Rich made it to manage song requests. We were able to collect requests from our guests ahead of time through the RSVP process, which helped us build a playlist of pre-approved songs that we were comfortable with for our child-friendly wedding. This also meant Rich could easily avoid anything we didn't want played--without us having to stress about it on the day of. Rich also went the extra mile to work with us days before the big day. We were able to drop off a USB Drive with MP3's of custom covers recorded by my SIL and her husband to be played during the pre-ceremony seating music. Being capable of incorporating these personal details meant a lot to us. During the reception, Rich found the perfect balance--he got guests out on the dance floor without ever being pushy or over-the-top. He kept the energy just right all evening long, which can be a tough line to walk as I have been to weddings where the DJ would be too over the top and sort of ruin the atmosphere. We had family travel from across the United States to celebrate with us and we wanted it to be easy for people to dance but also chat and catch up. Just a perfect balance for us, but know he clearly asks how involved we wanted him beforehand. So, if you like super involved he can absolutely do that too! The app Black Tie Events promotes for organizing music wasn't the easiest and user friendly for me so we ultimately used Spotify to build out our playlist, and everything came together beautifully. I felt horrible getting our playlist to him at the last possible second (despite him providing everything we could have possibly needed well in advance), so I definitely spent a little extra time creating clearly titled playlists within our wedding folder to make it easier for him, but he was still extremely gracious working with us on a tighter deadline that gave him ample time to do what he needed to do to have everything set for our big day. For us, being able to create a specifically curated music experience made the night feel that much more "us" and ensured we had the vibes we wanted. All around, we had a 10/10 experience and are so glad Rich was our DJ for our wedding!

The equipment was in great shape and looked very classy. The dealers were all very personable and made great connections with all the guests. Most people ended up going to one table and stayed there all night, because they were having such a good time. The Emcee kept the atmosphere going, played a great variety of music and took requests (and quickly filled them). We got lots of compliments of how much fun our guests had and how great everything looked. I would recommend Joel and the rest of the team for a casino night any day. I hope we can repeat this.
