I recently hosted my son's birthday party at Round1 in Pembroke Pines, and unfortunately the…read moreexperience fell well below the expectations that were set during the booking process. We arrived approximately 30 minutes before our scheduled party time, exactly as we were instructed to do during the planning process. Despite arriving early and checking in as directed, our reserved party room was not available until approximately 3:02 PM--after our scheduled party time had already begun. This left our guests waiting while we were forced to set up decorations, organize food, and prepare the room after the party was supposed to be underway. Valuable time that we paid for was lost due to poor organization and lack of preparation by the venue. To make matters worse, the escalator leading to the party area was out of service, creating an unnecessary inconvenience for guests carrying decorations, gifts, food, and children. While mechanical issues can happen, there was little communication or assistance from staff to help make the situation easier. During the planning process and again upon checking in, we were given the impression that staff would assist with setting up the party room. However, when we asked for help, we were told employees were not allowed to assist with setup. This directly contradicted what we had been told beforehand and added unnecessary stress at the start of the event. Once the party began, the level of service only continued to decline. Our assigned food runner/party attendant was virtually nonexistent. Aside from delivering the pizzas and three pitchers of drinks, they disappeared for the remainder of the party. No one checked on our group, offered drink refills, or ensured we had everything we needed throughout the event. Basic party essentials were also never provided. We had to ask for--or completely go without--items such as utensils, cups, napkins, trash bags, and other supplies that should have been readily available for a hosted birthday party. There was no assistance with clearing tables, collecting trash, cleaning the party room, or helping maintain the space during or after the celebration. There was also no direction provided to our reserved room when we arrived, no proactive communication from staff, and no visible involvement from management when concerns were raised. It genuinely felt like no one knew who was responsible for our event or what services were supposed to be included. Most disappointing of all, we did not receive several of the items and services that were included in the birthday package we purchased and were promised during the booking process. We paid for a professionally coordinated birthday experience but instead found ourselves managing nearly every aspect of the party on our own. As parents, we book birthday packages like this so we can spend time making memories with our children--not running around looking for employees, asking for basic supplies, cleaning up after everyone, and trying to coordinate an event that should have already been organized. We left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and feeling as though we did not receive the experience or value that was promised. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously. Round1 has the potential to provide outstanding birthday experiences, but significant improvements are needed in organization, communication, customer service, and accountability. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend hosting a birthday party here until these issues are addressed.
