The location has plenty of parking options, the inside of the store is spacious with very nicely organized and clean set up that was a pleasant surprise. The staff were all very accommodating and did not push for any sales, we shared our interests and it was just a wonderful time overall. There was a lot of options between games, toys, etc. Everything was fairly priced which is hard to find now a days with card games and other similar merchandise. They shared they will be opening another location in Bloomington which I'm very excited for. Will be coming by here more and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for anything in the game category!

The quality wasn't the greatest but it was free so I'll take what I can get. Since the store wasn't super busy on a Tuesday night my friend and I got some nice recommendations from the guy that was working in the store. My colleague tends to play party games so his lighter multiplayer recommendations made sense. My partner on the other hand prefers heavy euros but I didn't feel like asking about those this time around although I did see them carry some heavier games. There were a group of older adults playing a board game on the long tables in the back. I remember reading about magic the gathering nights so I imagine it might be nice to play here during weeknights when the mall isn't super busy. Also I noticed Games by James sponsored a play area for kids right next to the store. There's giant Jenga, connect 4 and bean bags to keep the little ones occupied while you shop.

With my return to the office becoming imminent, I knew the chips were down when it came to obtaining brain reset tools. One of my favorites is a good brain teaser, so Rush Hour was the order of the day. Being who I am, I was instantly distracted by all of the familiar old friends. I was lucky that Nathaniel was the one showing me where to find Rush Hour. The man knew everything about each one of the games that I was curious about. He even showed me games that were related to my old favorites (Arkham Horror, namely). I didn't get any of the wonderful cooperative games today, but I know I will be back when I find my game crew. This is a fantastic place to go for anyone who enjoys board games, card games, and puzzles.

Every time we walk in, we are greeted by welcoming people! The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Comics: The new comics section is great, but other shops do have larger sections. I haven't had an issue getting the books I want. If you sign up for their free subscription plan for new comics you get 10% off! I hope they start keeping back issues at this location. They have had them on special occasions but not like the other locations. Me and my girlfriend love looking through dollar boxes and discount bins when we are looking for new stories to read. If possible, please do more back issues!!! :) Trading Cards: Their trading card section like every other game store is always running low. They carry pretty much all your big games (Pokemon, MTG, One Piece, Lorcana, Yugioh, ect) as well as smaller games. The prices however are all over the place. We have picked up Pokemon and One Piece at retail prices, but sometimes they are over market. They aren't always that way, so I am curious how they price their sealed products. I haven't played MTG in a while and was curious about a bundle they had it seemed a bit high to me, and I looked it up on TCG Player when I got home and it was well over market price. I am not complaining because this is how every store operates nowadays and everybody wants the product! Can't be mad at it. Overall, the store is great and the people are nice. If they could expand their comic sections and add back issues, we would spend more money here!

They also have some collectibles and plushies. Toward the back they have a small selection of board games. They have space in the back with tables and chairs for meet-ups and gaming nights. Also to support this they have snacks and beverages for sale at a reasonable price. I was greeted by the employee when I entered, and he kindly asked if I was looking for anything and to let him know if I needed any help. I appreciated his acknowledgement, yet hands-off-ness since I was just there to do a little light browsing to get a feel for what was there. (I did almost buy my husband a mug for the upcoming holidays, as it was Critical Role themed and he's a fan of that series.) You could definitely find gifts for friends here. Playing weekly will not save you from the potential 4 times as much upcharge for product. When they receive *free* promos to give out for weekly TCGs- they won't make you go another round to have an ultimate winner- you can go undefeated and they still will not give you the "winners" pack. All other game stores in MN wouldn't keep their free promos like that. Again, staff is great- be kind. But DONT make this your new card shop. The company doesn't care about you at all- straight vultures.

But the staff and practices are just terrible. I've been here twice. Both times I was in the shop, I spent a good long while searching through their products and sifting through their bulk trading card bins, and the whole time I was in there I overheard the manager(?) being extremely short and rude with multiple customers. Acting like a smug know-it-all, being annoyed that people were trying to sell things to their store, and even swearing at customers who were being normal/polite with him. Just absolutely bizarre behavior. My other massive problem with this place is the pricing on some of their items, and how/what they offer for store credit trade-ins. I've traded in some vintage cards here before, (both times I was in the shop) and even though I had different employees doing the trade-ins each time, they never failed to lowball me like CRAZY. They tried to tell me they could only take one of my cards as "damaged" condition because it had a couple black specs on the front of the card, and some light white wearing around the backside edges. I lightly scraped my fingernail across the black specs and they fell off.. The card was at WORST "moderately played" condition. I understand that these childhood cards from 25 years ago aren't in pristine condition, but they never failed to pretend like they were in the worst possible condition so they could offer me way less. (Mind you, I was wanting store credit, not cash, which benefits them even more..) The pricing on their used singles cards is also insane. I found a random obscure cheap old card I've been searching for, (non first edition version) but it was being sold for $10.. TCG Player and eBay both show that even the first edition version in near mint condition goes for $3.50. I saw another card I was interested in that was being sold for $100. TCG Player and eBay show that in near mint condition it goes for $46. I wasn't going to complain about the $10 card, but I decided to POLITELY ask why the $46 card was being sold for $100, and the rude manager guy overheard me asking and walked over to interject. He said those cards are the owner of the store's cards, he chooses the prices, that's just what he wants to get for them, they cannot change the price. I politely said "Ah, okay. I'll pass on that one then." then finished my transaction and left. I don't understand how stores with extremely rude staff who also literally try to scam people out of their money can stay in business. Just disgusted with my experiences at this place. Even greedy scalpers I've met at trading card conventions aren't charging $100 for a $46 card.
