I went in to the Albany game stop to get the new college football 25, I was so excited they haven't made this game since 95. I was told by the cashier T i could return the game if it didn't work on my console. I went home tried the game it didn't work. Two day later i returned the game and she had a problem returning the game so she went back and brought i guess a manager they both stood there confused, then told me i can't return the game open and then i stated T said it was okay to return it. Then she told me it was her bad they tried to give $21 or $30 in store for a $70 game that was 2 days old and never played, to me sounds like bad coustomer service and a whole store that don't know what they are doing. I think they should of made it right! being T said i could return the game. People should to be trained for put in front of the customer. read more

I wanted to buy a Steam controller. Checked online and it said they have them available at the closest location or me which is still 15 miles away. I clicked the pick up in store option and put my info in and then left. After waiting on line for 10 minutes the lady at the counter said they only have one and it's "on hold" for someone else. Wouldn't sell it to me. Okay. So the website says it's available, but it's not. I put in a hold request for one despite the one they have already being on hold, so they won't sell it to me. I waste 45 minutes and gas money to not get what the website says is available. I'm sorry, but this is crap customer service. If someone hasn't been there to pick it up, then you can order another one for them when you have a customer standing there who has already been through the trouble of traveling to your store to buy it. Especially since your website says it's available. Thanks, GameStop! I will be pushing for all games to go digital like on Steam. Nevermind that writable cards have many legitimate uses. Nevermind that I like to write my own homebrew games for the DS, as well as run other free homebrew games that people create themselves and put up for download on the net. Nevermind that writable cards can be used to do things that are not normally possible with a DS, such as playing your entire mp3 collection, watching movies/TV shows and storing photographs. Nevermind that other used games stores such as Slackers have no problem selling these cards. Nevermind that last month a French court ruled that using these cards was not illegal since they add legitimate functionality to the DS that is otherwise not available. This Gamestop is exactly like all of the others, high prices for games that you can buy elsewhere. Unfortunately, this is the only store in town worth going to in order to ensure you get high quality games and staff that actually knows what they are talking about. All of us gamer's in Albany would not be happy without it though. It offers all games for all recent consoles worth buying and of course, you can pre-order new games from Gamestop. It would be nice for games to be cheaper these days but that isn't the stores fault. If you need the newest video game new or used then Gamestop is your best option. read more
