Well it could be any of the unique handcrafted gifts in the shop, from locally made soap, a new pair of earrings or a stained glass sun catcher. There were so many things to tempt me, but the best part of my visit was learning about the classes offered. They just wrapped up Chinese Calligraphy, and do leatherwork, handmade beads, stained glass and crocheting. This wonderful place is the labor of love shared by three sisters, one of which I met and shared the story of how the idea came to be. An artist herself, Lynne is always looking for ideas and teachers to lead a class and showcases local artisans crafts within the store and featured on the walls. They currently have fresh cut trees and garland available for the holiday season. I left with a crocheted Yip Yip (Sesame Street), a fragrant sage / mint soap and a couple of scrubbers, a Billion New Friends (Eugene) Blackberry Herbalism Kombucha, and a couple of scones (Spanikopita and chocolate). I'm excited at the idea of adding classes to my wishlist and finally getting something I'll truly enjoy! It's one of those places where, even though it's not all that large, you could really spend some time wandering as there is a lot to discover and you don't really know what you might find. I zeroed in on lots of beautiful rock and gem specimens and beautiful artwork on the walls. They also had local honey and just lots of local goodies, which always makes me so happy. My husband and I were there for a stained glass workshop so I grabbed a hot chocolate and he got a latte, then we skedaddled on back for the fun. Both drinks were delicious, and it was extra enjoyable to have a cozy little something to sip on while we crafted. They offer a variety of classes including drawing, felting, knitting, crochet, pottery, fused glass, and print making. The stained glass class we took was a little more involved, while the week before they were doing a drop in class for Christmas ornaments that would have been fun for kids. We ended up spending about two hours on our projects, but had a great time. There were two other students who were very friendly and our instructor was knowledgeable. The price for the class was very reasonable and we would definitely take another. They would also be so fun for a girl's day. At the café along with the mix of beverages, cookies and snacks, the soups of the day were clam chowder and tomato beef barley soup. They were out of the latter by the time we were finished so grab it while you can! One of our classmates mentioned the lemonade is particularly delicious. They even have local Ruby Jewel ice cream sandwiches. Overall, while we live a little too far for this to be a quick spot to grab a snack, easy lunch or dinner, I am jealous of the locals who have this option! Two of the owners (and they are sisters, ah so sweet!) were there and they were so friendly and nice. Again, this might be a little out of my way, but that won't stop me from returning. I initially wondered if it was worth hiring them for ag consulting additionally since we are so small. I tend to think of this service as something for large commercial operations. Boy, are we glad we got the consulting part too. We've never had sheep before and this was absolutely worth it's weight in gold (or Amex.) Brian and Michelle came out to our property and identified the types of grass, appropriateness of our fencing and shelter, and recommended an amount of animals based on the lot size. They immediately followed up by email with a written list of specific supplies they recommend. Our ram and ewes were selected based on this meeting and delivered to us. We really felt like all our questions were answered and when our first sheepergency came up, they immediately responded to our anxious questions. So many people I know are trying to add some element of farming to their already busy day job lives, but don't know where to start. I highly recommend Brian and Michelle for even small properties: let them save you the expense and headache reinventing the wheel from their years of learned experience!

The service dogs get into barking matches with other dogs and it's a disturbance to everyone. Not to mention the pee and poop that occurs. Another unfortunate aspect is the behaviors of some customers, it's astonishing how rude and verbally abusive these folks were to the cashiers. I didn't see any support from management when it came to one lady who was upset with a cashier who was hard of hearing. This woman berated the cashier and got so upset over a simple misunderstanding. Disgusting behavior! The overall selection of items is fun to look at, but a lot of items are clearly overpriced and can be found at other stores for less. I'm not paying 3 or more for a dollar tree item. The cashiers are always nice and helpful, but the management needs to support them more, especially when customers are rude. As a customer, I believe we're not always right, especially when one is acting up with an employee. Employees deserve respect and safety, without them a business can suffer and flounder.

This is one of those stores where I feel like half the time there are more employees than customers; I'm not sure if it ever truly gets busy here. There's plenty of parking and the staff seems pretty good about helping folks find what they need. I noted the randomness of the store but just how random are we talking? :: They had samurai swords. Yes, real samurai swords. And so many knives; it's practically a convention of blades. :: A produce section. Small compared to a supermarket, but vast for stores of this size. :: There are so many different tools here that this place may as well be an actual hardware store. :: They have local alumni memorabilia, ranging from OSU footballs to Univ of Oregon apparel. :: A collection of animal themed clocks, frames, and general home decor. A bear lamp or a duck telephone? How about an eagle paperweight or a snakehead letter opener? :: There are children's toys for less than $5 but high end coolers that range in the hundreds.
