They were selling some zygard collection boxes at retail and we snatched those up! Also 6 packs at retail also!? Sure. There were some things that were market but what do expect? They didn't have shelves of sealed Costco product so I was happy and willing to spend my money here. Happy we did, ripped some great packs from here. Small collection of loose bulk but a large arrange of things. Day 1 was busy, lots of staff, lots of customers; day 2, no staff, back log of customers, but the staff that was there was hustling. I really love this place…read more First off the employees are amazing. I go in there a lot with my 2 year old to just pick up Magic cards. I forgot her name but there is a red girl there that is so great. She always talks with my son and even broke out a little ball and played with him while i searched for cards. She then even let him have a couple practice decks from another game. He loved it and she was amazing. I mean they are just a good group. I went in yesterday to trade in some cards for some boosters. I was 2 dollars short on my trade was gonna put it on my card and the guy behind the counter took out his wallet said here ya go and used his own money to help me out instead of me using my card. The prices are great and the events are a lot of fun! If you are a hardcore gamer or just a casual one this is a great place to go!

Waited a few days and finally got an offer on my cards. Offer was ridiculously low. I said no thanks, I'll come get my cards. As soon as I said I wasn't interested Steve was rude over the phone. Tried arguing with me about the value of the cards, their condition, etc. I told him I wasn't interested in arguing and would simply come get my cards. Went in an hour later and Lo and behold, some were missing. I mentioned this to Steve. I noticed his hands were obviously shaking. As soon as I said something about the missing cards he got extremely defensive. He acted like I had accused him directly (which I did not, I understand mistakes sometimes happen). He then tried to escalate the situation, raising his voice in the crowded store and yelling at me in front of dozens of people. It was Friday night, they were hosting a game night. Steve continued to yell at me, even as I walked out. Unprofessionalism, cards disappearing, and insultingly low offers seem to be par for the course, judging by the reviews. I'll be going to Guardian Games from now on.

Oh, I don't go inside, I wait in the car scrolling my socials and taking selfies and then ooh and ah over his purchases while he explains refractors and grading and colors and bits of bats or jerseys. I'm sure he says other stuff...The Sportsroom has had a few different owners and the latest has been there for over a year. After taking a long break between owners, we're back to visiting about every week. It is nice to see someone who seems to enjoy what they're doing who genuinely wants to make visits to the Sportsroom a positive experience.

DONT! submit your cards for grading with them. Had mutiple occasions where they quote you a price…read morefor PSA grading, then the cards come back and they claim the price is 2X as much as when you submitted them... There is simply no reason to grade with them, you can do it on your own and the speed is exactly the same, or save yourself the trouble and submit through GameStop, which is faster. They will hold your cards ransom and refuse to show you the grade until you pay their prices that magically increase by 50% after returning from PSA. They have no way to track your PSA submissions and then complain about people calling to check on the status of their cards. If looking for boxes, go to cards N hobby in Beaverton. Better prices on wax and PSA submissions are 100% easier to work! The old Twat with the beard is a super dick and I will not step foot in that shop as long as he works there.

R&B made it clear that not only were there a ton of gamers in the area whose needs weren't being addressed whatsoever, but that a knowledgeable staff and a stable space were all that was needed to give that community a home. Also, to be so inclusive of women that my longtime gamer buddy's wife was stunned when she walked in and was not only one of several women in the building, but the only one not actively buying or playing... that's how you start to need double the space. I'll admit, I don't like seeing this place go and I'm not a fan of the trend I'm seeing. We lost the town's only bookstore to Beaverton. Retro Game Store's gaming club and Gongali also moved from west of 185th to Beaverton. If Hillsboro and Forest Grove can't find the space for businesses like these--the ones that actually build communities, create third spaces, and encourage people here to join in and become part of something--they're going to keep losing both business and interest to Beaverton, Portland, and other places that are generally more encouraging. Thank you for my cherished copy of King of Tokyo, more Warhammer gifts than I likely should've purchased my friend, and all of the hours you set up shop for your regulars and newcomers. You're some of the good guys in Downtown Hillsboro, and the place will be less welcoming in your absence.
