This location left a bad taste in my mouth to the point I will never return to GameStop. Unfortunately when the employees lies to my face , avoids eye contact and states ( I have to sell you the extend protection plan, my manager said so...) on one switch game. Unbelievable. My in-laws bought a Nintendo Switch for Christmas. Brought it back two days later, wanted to exchange for an OLED. Was told I couldn't do it, they'd only do a trade in for an awful deal since it had been opened. Seems like a pretty bad business policy. They pushed really hard on buying a protection plan for a Nintendo Switch game. I was clear that I didn't want it and they continued to push. After they finally took no for an answer the lady checking me out yelled "I wonder why we are the lowest rate." to the other worker. It was clear she was referring to making some quota and she was upset that I didn't buy the plan. When I left she muttered something disparaging. I tried to avoid buying on Amazon and wanted to support this place. I'll find somewhere else next time. read more

The staff here are so helpful and nice. Never had a bad experience here. I had many questions about trading in gear to get store credit and they made sure I got the most out of my money. Worst customer experience I can recall. Went in to buy an XBOX ONE just now. The tattooed guy behind the counter didn't acknowledge me standing at the counter for awhile. When he finally did, I asked him a question about th console. He asked what other games I was buying besides the Halo pack that came with the console. I told him none. And he scoffed. He said nobody buys the XBOX just for Halo. So pretentious. I told him I was one of those rare people. Then he shooed me aside to help another customer who was selling back some games. He proceeded to talk so aggressively and rudely to that guy that I just left. Don't want to give my money to a business that so clearly doesn't want it. read more

I arrived at this location with a sense of entitlement; having called about a switch only a week or so before black Friday. To my surprise, we were welcomed by one of the friendliest and helpful employees I've ever met at a Gamestop. I believe he said his name was Solomon; and not only did he help my girlfriend and I figure out the equipment necessary to play the switch together, he also suggested a really cool game Ive never heard of before based on my previous play style in way of games. He was patient with us despite me being eager to grab the console and head out, and he properly managed the situation when a lot of people showed up with only ONE Employee on deck. I commended him on his ability to keep the flow of the situation going smoothly, in which he replied that his GM had just clocked out as we arrived. My only suggestion is hiring an extra set of hands so one person can handle the register while another helps customers. The line almost got backed up, but Sol had it figured out. read more

my favorite game store in town. honestly feels as comfortable and friendly as a local shop would. the staff is always friendly, fun to talk to and honest about the products and i really appreciate that. the new upgrades to the displays looks great as well. i love this gamestop so much mostly because the staff makes me feel like they actually care about my enjoyment of the games i buy from them as oppose to wanting me in and out while buying as much as possible. can't sing the praises of this staff enough. read more

I came to this store because I was looking for a couple of games to purchase for my husband. His birthiversary is tomorrow (the 27th) and while I usually pride myself on ordering his gifts online in plenty of time, life has really thrown us some curveballs (as well as some fast balls, a few sliders, and more than our share of strikes) over the last few weeks. Because of this, I found myself scrambling to try and purchase a few items from his wishlist. (Thankfully I know that without a doubt, video games are always a great go-to type gift for him.) Unfortunately, it seemed as though every game he'd expressed any interest in was only available in one or two stores in the general area (and none of the locations were really very close to where I live in Leander). It was already nearly 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon, which meant it was starting to creep into the beginning of the Austin metro area's "rush hour" and knowing that the first store on my list was off of MoPac, I raced to load up the car with my 4- and 5-year-olds (along with my 17-year-old begrudgingly in tow in order to afford me the rare (but magical!) opportunity of entering each location, sans children, while my "Irish twins" stayed buckled into their booster seats throughout the entire duration of our trip, however long it would inevitably end up lasting). Driving all the way from the far side of Leander to the Gamestop location off of MoPac and Anderson Ln didn't take too terribly long but it was still "early" so traffic was "light" (according to the laws that govern the hell that is MoPac traffic, much less this area's traffic late on a Friday afternoon). Needless to say, I sprinted from my car to the door, hoping to shave off a couple of precious seconds that I knew I'd need at some point later in my eventual "commute" home. Scanning the store as soon as I walked in filled me with dread as I realized there were quite a few customers milling about inside with only two associates working the registers. Imagine my surprise as I was greeted before the door had even fully closed behind me. Even more shocking was the offer of assistance that immediately followed. Sensing this was some kind of trick, I informed the associate that I was there to pick up a game that was being held in my honour. Without missing a beat, the associate asked me for the title and that's when I knew things were about to go sideways because in less than a split second, I realized I had absolutely NO idea what game I was there to pick up. Nonplussed, I stammered for a second or two before being mentally and emotionally disarmed because at that exact moment, I noticed the associate had literally stopped whatever it was he had been doing behind the counter so that he could face me directly, look me right in the eyes, and genuinely engage with me. The panic and dread that had been welling up inside of me dissipated as quickly as it had built up. It took this associate (Jeff) mere seconds to catch my full name, look me up in the system, and have said game cradled in his wholly capable hands. Then, as if that wasn't enough, he did something almost completely unheard of - he had the audacity to ask me how else he could be of service. Feeling as though this ruse he had crafted of actually providing meaningful and remarkable service was about to finally be exposed, I tested him by casually mentioning there were a few other games I was looking for that I was ultimately forced to place on hold at various other stores because while originally searching the GameStop website, the store I was now standing in did not show up as an available location. Feigning playful abhorrence at the mere thought of his store not carrying everything I could possibly ever ask for, he gently inquired the name of each title I was hunting for and lightly chuckled as he methodically located every one, lovingly snapping them into their respective cases, all the while demonstrating his willingness to fulfill my every whim while maintaining a rapport of ease and almost familial intimacy. Before fully comprehending the beauty and majesty of what exactly had transpired, I had completed my portion of the transaction, purchasing not only the three game titles I had just moments earlier believed would require much more time and effort to obtain than I swore I had to offer, but also buying a fourth (because why not also add Deadpool to the growing list of PS3 titles my husband boasts) and a Deadpool bobble head thingie that I just knew my husband would love to proudly display in his office to the delight of the rest of the boys at work. Jeff made my encounter at this location so positive and memorable that for the life of me, I cannot recall having even one complaint hurled at me from the backseat from what I imagine was the entire stop-and-go drive home, although I'll never know for sure because my entire encounter at this location was simply that sublime. This has been my favorite Game Stop to go to. I haven't had any bad experiences at any of them, but I felt a little more personal attention at this one. As a single mom who doesn't play games, it's helpful to have the manager suggesting things and also remembering me on future visits. It's your typical Gamestop. They will constantly try to upsell you and suggest you buy worthless crap you don't need. However, they usually offer the best preorder bonuses, so I shop here anyway. If you don't have the willpower to say no, then you should never walk into any Gamestop. "Would you like the strategy guide for a 10% discount?", "Would you like to preorder Gaylo 12 even though it hasn't even been announced yet?", "Would you like to bow down to our lord Satan and sell your used games for pennies so we can make huge profits on them?". You will likely be asked some variation of all of those questions every single time you walk into any Gamestop. Have your "No" gun locked and loaded, because you will definitely need it. Anytime I need anything video game related I go here for the specific reason because I know if they don't have what I want they will find it this store has the best staff in my opinion than any other GameStop in town, plus the manager there I'm drawing a blank on his name right now, but I have gotten a lot of help and information about things I am purchasing and looking for from this person.
