Scott listened to our conversation and decided homself that he would ring everything up together. Then instruct us to split the payment. We were confused because we had no idea what he was talking about and the total was too high and there were items on the card kiosk that werent supposed to be there. My friend and I told him we want separate transactions, but he instructing us on how we'd split the payment. We probably had to tell him four times we want to do separate transactions before he finally did what we wanted with some snarky comment, "I'm just trying to make it easier but fine." I know he wanted to do one transaction because i was renewing my pro account and if we did separate transactions, his conversion rates for pro accounts per transactions would go down, but we wanted separate transactions. We finally buy stuff and head out the door, and when i look over the receipts, i realize there's a code for bonus content he never pointed out. In fact, he didnt point out anything, just took payment and rushed us away from the counter. Then i get home and see i have an email that says Scott signed me up for auto renewal on my pro account! He never asked me if i wanted that, and i dont want that! Scott kept doing things without asking us or informing us so who knows if I got scammed on something else! I'm canceling my pro account. The only retail workers I run into at gamestop now are shady people like this, so I'm just gonna order physical copies online from other retailers who won't try to pull one over on me and then get an attitude when I tell them to stop that.

Which doesn't happen often in midlothian. My last experience was AMAZING! It was about 3 weeks ago. They always have very nice and informative employees but being a girl gamer it helps when we see a fellow female!! Persephonie who is a newer employee is SOOOO sweet and she is so positive. Also a great sales women she 'encouraged' me to walk out with $150+ worth of merchandise and showed me items that I would have for sure missed out on if I was alone. Just today she called me to inform me that pop figures would be buy 2 get 1 free because she knew that I had pre-ordered a few. How amazing!! I've always had pleasant visits at this location but Persephonie goes above and beyond. Love her and this location!

They have more variety than Entertainmart, and it's easier to find rarer films for cheaper than their online listings, but I do have to admit their prices are higher than I'd like (especially their "New" items, which are usually priced $3-5 higher so they can make a profit off it) and their sales aren't the best either (their best they'll do is Buy 2 Get 1 Free). That being said, we're regulars there and visit at least once every 1-2 weeks. As for the staff, they've never been rude or unhelpful to me. (I don't know if they treat me different because I'm a regular, but even after not visiting for several weeks they're still nice to me.) I've had issues like not being able to find an item or wanting to return something, and they're always speedy and helpful. Even when I do somewhat complicated things like special order an item from another store in their chain, they don't act rude or unhelpful to me. As for their selection, I'm usually able to find something I want there. They carry all sorts of different items- games and accessories for various platforms, movies on DVD and Blu-Ray, music on CD and vinyl, comic books, collectibles, board/card games and accessories, anime/manga, and even older toys. If they don't have something you want, they'll special order it for you from another store of theirs and, if it's not available at any store in the chain, they'll order it for you off Amazon. Special orders can either be shipped to your local store for pickup or just can be shipped to your house. So in total, I give Movie Trading Company a 4 out of 5. They're not perfect, I do have some pet peeves with them that i've listed in this review, but overall I still really like the store and love to shop there.

Old, obsolete video game systems, DVDs, video game cartridges and discs, equipment repair... and skateboards? It's been so long since I've seen games for sale for the Atari 2600 that I had thought I had the only one left. Yet they have some on hand for sale. And it's staffed with guys who actually know of AND remember the hard corps, 'old school' systems that got us where video games are today. They have prices comparable to GameStop; not that it matters all that much since Cleburne's GameStop has ceased to carry GameBoy games, and will soon stop carrying and trading GameCube games, as well. They carry them for X-boxes, various Playstations, lots of Nintendo systems. Prices for used GameBoys seem to range from $20-60 depending on the rarity of the system wanted. And they take trade-ins on games, systems and movies. I'm definitely going to continue to spread the word about this place in order to keep a good little local 'mom and pop' operation running. :) ------------------------------ (update March 04, 2012) Purchased an old used Game Boy cartridge and a GameCube disc. Game Boy cart needed a little cleaning to get it to work with my GameCube Game Boy Player. Game works great! The GameCube game disc was scratchy and wouldn't play in my GameCube. Upon returning it to the store, the sales associate tossed it into the disc refinishing machine for free. The game works perfectly, now. :) ------------------------------ Games & Movies Traders has moved from next to Whataburger on West Henderson to it's new location next to the Cinema 6 on West Henderson in Cleburne, Texas. They also no longer sell movies so I guess it's just "Games," now. :)
