So I went to this GameStop location to reserved a game and this was my first time visiting this location. During my first visit I reserved two games for my PS5 after being informed about one of them that sparked my interest by the heavy set female employee who I was impressed with for the knowledge that she had for the games I had interest in. The two games that I reserved for my PS5 were scheduled to come out on two separate days and after making the reservation, I was so pleased with the service that I said to myself that I was going to make this location my GameStop home because all GameStop locations aren't the same and the service that I received on this day was great. It was during my second visit when it was time to pick up one of my reserved copies was when my view of what I thought was a great store started to change. I became extremely frustrated after asking one of the 3 employees if an exception could be made for me to skip the line that was wrapped around the building with people in line waiting to purchase Pokémon cards for all I wanted to do was pick up my reserved game. I was told, "No", and had to wait in line for an hour just to pick up one thing. It didn't make sense to me of why two separate lines couldn't have been made to accommodate those that were there for things other than for Pokemon cards. Once inside of the store two out of the three employees were standing around talking doing absolutely nothing which inflamed me even more. When I had asked the question to skip the line at the time, one employee was standing by the door, the other walking back and forth to the back, and the last one behind the register. I pick up my reserved copy and then finally left. Prior to me returning to this location for my third visit to pick up my final reserved copy, I received a call from the store the day prior informing me that my copy was in and that I had 48 hours to pick it up. I expressed my frustration with the person over the phone about waiting in line to pick my one item and inquired about how to avoid running into the same problem. He in turn of course instructed me to come later in the day to have a better outcome. Following his instructions, I returned to the store for my third time and I was so thrilled that there wasn't a line causing me to breathe a sigh of relief and I was excited about picking my game. When I walked in, my bubble was busted when I was greeted by the grinch that stole Christmas who greeted me with a, "Can I help you", but in a tone as if I was bothering her. This was a female that I haven't ever seen before in the store standing about 5'9, dark skinned with shoulder length dreads, medium build, with no name tag, and dressed in all black. I wanted to ask if she was having a bad day, but her energy was so unwelcoming I didn't have the energy of wanting to go back and forth. She wasn't rude but wasn't providing the best customer service experience either, so I continued with my purchase and left feeling like a kid who just asked his mother to go to McDonald's after seeing the Golden Arches and was told "No", because we have food at home. Although I was happy to get what I came for, I left the store feeling some type of way. With that said, I guess all GameStops are the same because I've yet found one to show consistently with valuing their customers. read more

Definitely our favorite GameStop location in the Charlotte area. The employees are always very friendly and personable. Always. And around the holiday the sales here are always surprisingly good. The assortment of used games is always a good deal here too. This is how I buy most of my son's games. I know there is not much more I can say - because if you shop at GameStop then you know you can get all gaming needs here. If they don't have it, they will find another location that does or order it for you. I mean it is just hands down great customer service. read more

I love going to Game Stop, it's the best place to purchase used video games and they have some really good deals. Personally, I don't believe in paying full price for video games. The way I see it, it's just a computer program that has been copied onto a blu ray and in my opinion there's no justification for paying $60+ for a copy of a program. I rather wait a few months for the title to get old and just buy it for $25. My only complaint about Game Stop is there business model regarding trade ins. I'm sure that many of you have seen the commercial where they only offer $9 to purchase a new title and from my experiences in the past that is just about right. I've taken games that were valued as $60 that I received as Xmas gifts there to be traded a couple weeks after Xmas and they only offer about $15 for the trade. The low values for trades is my only complaint. As for positives they offer loyalty programs that allow you to increase the amount that you receive for trades as well as receive discounts for purchases. On some occasions they also offer buy 2 get 1 free specials for pre-owned titles. Hint: I've noticed that many times, there are hidden gems to be found in the bargain racks that are next to the pre-owned shelves. On a few occasions, I've found fairly recent titles in the bins for less than $10. read more

Great goto place for Almost all my games. They have a great selection of games and accessories for all consoles.

GameStops don't have to be anything special. It's a place in a strip of stores usually and they are generally the same layout. The most impressive consistency I've found is that every store I've ever been to is friendly. Not unusual for a specialty store like this to be filled with like minded people though so friendly would just get an average review. This place is five stars though because Chris and Sam and the rest of the staff are attentive, proactive and thoughtful. I had to learn their names because they learned and remembered mine. That's the kind of next level customer service companies try to teach. Well done. read more

I wish I can give zero stars but believe me reading this will changed you're mind about this game stop. Probably not. So first thing about this game stop. The store leader can not stop staring at you until you buy or leave. That is a problem I find and it's very uncomfortable not to me but others I've seen. Second is how they treat you. I get they how they welcome you but sometimes I see a smart ass way of being welcomed. Third is how they tried to push you into buying there games and stuff I don't like that. It's uncalled for when I'm trying to buy my stuff that I wanted instead of being pushed for it. Forth is how I've seen employees were treated by the store leader. Sometimes I do honestly feel awful how they are treated and told to do when it comes to someone I like that works there. I'm not sure if it did happen or I'm guessing but I believe there was an employees that was upset and couldn't take it from the view I saw and how he was talked and treated. Firth is how they really don't care for you. They only care when you don't buy and leave. They honestly don't want you most of the time . Reason is that is they are on there phones all the times. I hate being told they don't have the item until i find it and it's almost every time I enter in and get it and go. Sixth is again the store leader. He doesn't take his job seriously. He will find away to take about the game which is kinda okay but then talks about how he plays it and has a long story. I don't want to know how you play it and I don't want to know the story's you played. He really needs to know how to limit his way of talking and when it comes to jokes. For once don't come up to me multiple times asking me if I find everything alright it starts to be uncountable if I need help I'll will let you know otherwise please stop. I've also had friends who had that problem at least forth times. They stop going to that game stop manly they can't take it anymore. I hated being lied about sells when I think it's the right price but becomes full price. read more
