I went into the Port Richmond GameStop on Aug 24 2025 at 2pm looking to purchase a brand new PlayStation 4. The clerk asked what specs I wanted, then brought out a used PlayStation 4 telling me it would cost $170. I said "oh I wanted a new one" The boy behind the counter told me that Sony isn't making new PS4s anymore, and that I had to buy a used one. I immediately checked Google and , Yes, Sony is still making new PS4s. And the new ones cost about the same amount as the used one the boy was trying to sell me. He lied to my face to try and make a sale. I understand that GameStop is struggling but lying to your customers to make a sale is not how you're going to pull through. I won't be purchasing anything from this GameStop again, and it's really put me off the store in general. Don't lie to your customers. It's super easy to check if they're being dishonest. *EDIT* The manager reached out to me. After a very good conversation; she was able to locate the game for me and apologized for my trouble. It refreshing to see someone take responsibility for a customer's experience. I don't know what's more incredible GameStop's ability to constantly disappoint me or me giving them additional chances. While looking for a copy of Pokémon Sword plus Expansion I was told that this store had a copy in stock. I called the store and a gentleman answers and tells me that they do have it in stock. I drive down and then I'm told that they don't have it. The African American gentleman with braids then attempts to explain to me that had I used the online tool I would've been able to check inventory and not waste time. I explained to him the online tool doesn't work for this specific game hence why I CALLED and drove down to this section of the city. His response is oh then if you want to waste gas driving around that's your choice. I tell him it's not a waste of gas had he actually given me accurate information. I enjoy this store more than some of the others I've been in. Their selection of used games is usually pretty good... Just wish they were a little cheaper. In most cases i might as well have bought a new game lol. The staff here is really stellar though. Nice, personable, knowledgeable and most important to me they are available and helpful without following you around and being annoying. Even though Target is a block away and usually cheaper I often find myself here instead because of the staff. Love this store! read more

My kids & I love this store! Always great selection, affordable pricing but mainly for their staff. They make my kids & I feel welcomed (which always has me spending MORE $$ than I intend on:) Manager: Chris is a peoples-person and always cheerful. He's knowledgable and down-to-Earth. He remembers is repeat customers name and even their last purchases...impressive. Staff: Kyle & Dylan are very knowledgable, especially with the new games. I purchased the new Halo: Reach game and on day 2 wanted to return it because "I was getting my ____ kicked!!! I went in today to sell my brother's XBox and had the pleasure of speaking to a young guy named Jeffrey, I believe. It seemed he was alone in a very busy store, but was superb at multi-tasking and making sure everyone was attended to in a timely manner. I was especially impressed that he reprimanded a customer for using profanity in front of a young kid. Props to Jeffrey and to Gamestop if he is representative of their staff. read more

These Assholes Keep Ignoring the Phone I had caught them several times, in-store and out Shitty trade in system, They don't always have what you want in stock (even though they say they do) often wasting my time. They aren't really all that, Whenever they tell you they have an In stock game,console or other electronic they usually don't Often wasting your time. also beware their trade in system they are kinda sneaky, giving you less then what you really should be getting i,e trade in a game get 7.28 instead of 15 dollars or something like that, even with a barley used game. read more
