Vowing to return after our event, I brought two of my kids and one of their friends, and we all geeked out over the selection of vintage and used video games for practically every system released since the advent of the Atari 2600. The staff was super helpful in answering questions about legacy systems. There were plenty of amazing values on games from ColecoVision and original NES through the Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch 2 and everything in between. The coin-operated arcade games and pinball machines, with a few free options, were also a blast. Digital Press is an absolute treasure.

The counter has employees who of course are gamers and what game store wouldn't be complete without regulars who hang around and talk about games as well. As I browsed around the store I was taken back through all the generations which was a good feeling, knowing that stores like this still exist. I could go on about why DPV is a great store, but I'll go over my experience on my latest visit. I went to unload a few games I had no use for anymore and could not sell them alternatively on C-list and the like so I came here. I got a better amount than I thought both cash and store credit (store credit of course being a bit more). It's obviously not a complete collection, but there's so much stuff inside that I effectively relived my 90's and aughts in the space of half an hour. When we stopped in, a regular was relating a story about grinding for some item (I'll be honest, all that stuff blurs together), and the staff was convincing me that they really cared, despite them clearly not knowing the game or item in question. If I played CCGs I'm sure I'd appreciate the shelves and shelves of singles that are laid out at the front. Prices seemed fine. They had an out-of-box Mario Wiimote for $35, Dragonball Z figurines for $30 each (2 for $50), a used Xbox 360 console for $100.

They were so enthusiastic about the Gameboy games my fiancé had. It was nice to see them get excited about games that were popular in the 90's and 2000's. We overheard them saying that they typically match whatever GameStop is currently offering in store credit. To our surprise, they gave my fiancé more than GameStop would have if we would've gone there. This is why it matters to support small businesses. I placed my order on a Tuesday evening & did not receive it until Saturday. That does NOT reflect 2-day priority. So I got gouged with outrageous shipping charges just to have it shipped late!!! When I addressed my concerns to the business they simply stated that they do not guarantee shipping & responded very unprofessionally. They clearly are in the business of ripping off consumers & DO NOT care about customer retention. As a former business owner, DO NOT OVERCHARGE your customers for shipping, be ethical & give the customer exactly what they paid for! You just lost me as a customer.
