You think they would had least gave them back their money so it could go towards the new mailbox that they now have to get. 2nd review: I also booked them for a party the first time and they were over an hour late, had to keep the kids longer so they could play thankfully the parents let them stay, they never called to leave a message, I kept calling them, finally they answered and said they were coming and they would make it up, gave me a little discount.

Many of the items were unfortunately overpriced. They had professional wrestlers in a bin trying to sell them for $10 a pound definitely not worth the price especially when they're not in good condition. The bottom floor had many DVDs, video games of many eras for sale, vhs's and on the upstairs they had a variety of Books and Comics. The store had a lot of things and if they don't have it they can order it for you from one of their other stores. As cool as the store was, I did think it was truly above average at best. 3.5 stars

However, on the day I visited, I just wanted to change this up. Very well curated collection right as you walk in the door. The only reason I didn't end up with a huge pile of books from the first table was that I was limiting myself to 3 books max. Well, for the day anyway. I was in the children's section looking for a book for a five-year-old and there was a family with their kids' reading books while they shopped, it was so sweet. I didn't stop after I found a book, I had to look around at all the cute other stuff they carry beyond books. A St. Louis section, candles, puzzles, games. Because it was the Holiday season they had check-out downstairs. I pulled a sucker and got to choose a book wrapped in brown paper, so it was a surprise. Also got a wooden key ornament to hang on the tree, so fun. Don't forget to browse the Romance side of the store, lots of goodies there as well.

They have a huge selection of video games and as a gamer, I love that. They also have a wide variety of stuff between movies, cds, anime, posters, figures, and whatever else you could be looking for. Now the negative aspect. What I do not like are their prices. I am thrifty, so when I am shopping used video game stores, one tends to get a general idea/feel for what things should be priced at. Slackers tends to price everything above Market Value. Whether they do it because it is a college town or because it is a bit of a nicer area... it seems to be working for them. I love swinging by when I visit my friends in the area, but I hardly ever purchase anything since I can find it for a lot cheaper where I live. Any who, they really do offer a large selection of everything. I love the fact that most of their SNES-era games have boxes on the shelves. Nostalgia kicks in looking at some old gaming boxes. The games don't come with the boxes, as they are store displays. But still cool to see! I will try and snap a few photos the next time I go and update this post with them. It's a great place to scratch almost any nerdy itch you have, but it does come with a premium price.
