Many of the items were unfortunately overpriced. They had professional wrestlers in a bin trying to sell them for $10 a pound definitely not worth the price especially when they're not in good condition. The bottom floor had many DVDs, video games of many eras for sale, vhs's and on the upstairs they had a variety of Books and Comics. The store had a lot of things and if they don't have it they can order it for you from one of their other stores. As cool as the store was, I did think it was truly above average at best. 3.5 stars

I was in the children's section looking for a book for a five-year-old and there was a family with their kids' reading books while they shopped, it was so sweet. I didn't stop after I found a book, I had to look around at all the cute other stuff they carry beyond books. A St. Louis section, candles, puzzles, games. Because it was the Holiday season they had check-out downstairs. I pulled a sucker and got to choose a book wrapped in brown paper, so it was a surprise. Also got a wooden key ornament to hang on the tree, so fun. Don't forget to browse the Romance side of the store, lots of goodies there as well.

They have a huge selection of video games and as a gamer, I love that. They also have a wide variety of stuff between movies, cds, anime, posters, figures, and whatever else you could be looking for. Now the negative aspect. What I do not like are their prices. I am thrifty, so when I am shopping used video game stores, one tends to get a general idea/feel for what things should be priced at. Slackers tends to price everything above Market Value. Whether they do it because it is a college town or because it is a bit of a nicer area... it seems to be working for them. I love swinging by when I visit my friends in the area, but I hardly ever purchase anything since I can find it for a lot cheaper where I live. Any who, they really do offer a large selection of everything. I love the fact that most of their SNES-era games have boxes on the shelves. Nostalgia kicks in looking at some old gaming boxes. The games don't come with the boxes, as they are store displays. But still cool to see! I will try and snap a few photos the next time I go and update this post with them. It's a great place to scratch almost any nerdy itch you have, but it does come with a premium price. If you are in the area and are looking for something a bit cheaper on the video game side of things., check out Grumpy Bob's Emporium a few miles away. One this visit I noticed groups of ppl spread out with Lego boxes. When I inquired, they informed me that they have a partnership with Lego and every so often they have free Lego build days. All you have to do is sign up in advance, you arrive and get your kit and you build away. When done, you get a Lego certificate of completion and a few other fun things. What they were building that day was neat so we signed up for the next one. There's always something for everyone here and bookstores are great to sit and forget about the world.

Regarding the atmosphere, there's lots of books and games which are attractively displayed. However, the place could use some new carpeting and other updates.
