    Even adults have fun!
    Nikki W.

Let be start by saying this was tons of fun. The truck was clean, the ambiance was great, the entire group had a great time, even if they aren't into video games. The driver was VERY nice and helpful. Our entire crowd was adults (over 25 years old), one 14 year old kiddo, and one 2 year old. That said, I just can't give 5 stars. The driver called me about 25 minutes before they were supposed to be here to let me know they would arrive at 2:20 for a 2:30 party. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. They did not arrive until 2:35, and then took about 10 minutes to park to truck (we live in the city...only parallel parking on these streets). Then, when we got into the truck (super cool BTW), we got 2 of the 4 tvs going quickly, but the third never ended up working and the 4th took a while. Unfortunately, it was the guest of honor that lost out on play time. Very upsetting, especially when we were still kicked out promptly at 3:30. So, here's the thing. I get it. You have a schedule to stick to so we gotta get out, but nothing was ever said. No apology for being late or for the TV/game not working, and no offer for any credit or money back. I would totally recommend this company and we did have a great time, but don't expect to have 2 hours of play time even though that's what you pay for.

Review Visit: October 5th, 2013…read more Music. Movies. Games. Debt. Let me preface this by saying that I love what Slackers offers. They have a huge selection of video games and as a gamer, I love that. They also have a wide variety of stuff between movies, cds, anime, posters, figures, and whatever else you could be looking for. Now the negative aspect. What I do not like are their prices. I am thrifty, so when I am shopping used video game stores, one tends to get a general idea/feel for what things should be priced at. Slackers tends to price everything above Market Value. Whether they do it because it is a college town or because it is a bit of a nicer area... it seems to be working for them. I love swinging by when I visit my friends in the area, but I hardly ever purchase anything since I can find it for a lot cheaper where I live. Any who, they really do offer a large selection of everything. I love the fact that most of their SNES-era games have boxes on the shelves. Nostalgia kicks in looking at some old gaming boxes. The games don't come with the boxes, as they are store displays. But still cool to see! I will try and snap a few photos the next time I go and update this post with them. It's a great place to scratch almost any nerdy itch you have, but it does come with a premium price. If you are in the area and are looking for something a bit cheaper on the video game side of things., check out Grumpy Bob's Emporium a few miles away. If you need more of a geek fix (board games, figures, comics), you can pop over to Heroic Adventures. It is literally a 2 minute drive from Slackers.

This place is fairly easy to get to, although parking was a bit tricky (I parked on the side and was unaware there was more parking on the other side of the building); also, I was unaware this was place was shared with an event space. When you first walk in, you'll see a sign for the event space upstairs and the 18 N Central place below. There are several computers for you to sign in (which consists of retrieving your info, picking a username and swiping a card (which I believe you can use for next time) and is also given to you from the front desk. The activities determine where you go. Since we were doing laser tag, we walked around the corner and were given a brief set of rules and instructions. Then we were assigned a team, our gear, and led to the actual laser tag area. We played a series of games and it was cool because throughout the games you could see your shooting percentage, kills, and etc. I had no expectations since this was my first time ever playing laser tag, but my competitive side refused to let me come in dead last. All in all, I had a great time. My only constructive criticism is to slow down when giving the directions. While it seemed like most people had experience, it was intimidating for those who didn't, especially when it came down to doing anything with the gun. Additionally, it made me feel like I was in the military for a second because the guy was talking so fast and made it as if he didn't want/need to repeat himself. The bright side, there is a bar and they serve food, so you can always people watch, too!
