Great GameStop, it's my favorite location. The employee that's there is awesome!! He has great customer service and even better he is very knowledgeable!! I never got to catch his name but he was very helpful! He helped me and my kiddos pick out a game based on what I was looking for. He also helped me select my family's next game purchase. He also knows Pokémon Podedex which made my kids quite happy!! The location is pretty large. Normally GameStop's are crammed and tight but this location is very spacious! This Game Stop location is near the big Walmart on the corner of Victory and George Washington -- just as you cross from Newport News into Yorktown. I don't usually visit this location because there is one closer to my house, but I wanted to order a specific item online for Black Friday and they had it available for pick up here and not at my usual store. So I ordered. Then went to pick up after dropping my kids off at school only to discover they don't open until noon. I guess most gamers don't do mornings? Who knows. Anyway, I came back later and was able to pick up my item. They had it all ready to go, and I found a couple other cute stocking stuffer things on clearance too. The woman who helped me was very nice and punctual. There's plenty of parking as well. Overall, not sure why everyone hates on it -- it's a much larger store than the one I usually visit and they seemed to have a lot in stock if you're looking for things. read more

I have been to this gamestop many times and have been always polite and respectful. Today I am trying to get ahold of an associate and it is an hour after they are opened and no one is picking up the phones. I would not mind being on hold but being completely ignored is not okay. I arrived at the Gamestop in Yorktown at a quarter to 6 pm. True they close at 6, but customer service was completely thrown out the window. The guy behind the counter was talking to a friend of his & told me the amount of games u wanted to trade in was too large. Heaven forbid you do your job & stop talking. I did have 2 grocery bags of games, which they could have made a ton of money off of. For that reason alone, I will drive the extra 15 minutes to another Game Stop, and you will never get my business again. Like I told you before I left, thanks for nothing! read more
