Had an amazing experience for our son's 10th birthday. Everything was smooth from booking to party day. The kids loved having their squad all together playing the same game on the big screens in the comfy limo like truck! Attendant Alex made sure all kids had access to games they wanted to play. Luis the owner was rude and very unprofessional I emailed Game truck and recieved an text Luis the owner askEd for us to call him . We couldn't book online so we had to speak to him directly on Monday we requested a calendar of dates they had available never recieved a call back , or email . So I called back couple days asking why I haven't gotten anything yet, Luis the owner was speaking to me in an very nasty tone like we were bothering him instead of trying to do business Maybe he needs to go to Business Etiquette school on how to treat potential customers I am not spending my hard earn $$ with Game Truck pretty sure I dodge a headache dealing with them. We had great experience with GameTruck. We got the bigger truck with 6 TVs. I think there's one with 8 too. There are four players for each screen. For us one was outside but since the weather was cold the kids all wanted to stay inside. Since we had more than 20 kids they had to take turns. So I think for a big bday party you should get the biggest ones. The truck arrived early and got it set up and the kids started right away. There were a lot of games (maybe 40-50?) that they get to choose from and play with. I think what makes the difference is the gamer. We got Alex and he was so nice. Knows all the games interacts with the kids well. The kids liked him a lot. It clearly shows he enjoys what he is doing. The only thing was that if you want fortnite you need to give them access with an Ethernet Cable. We wanted to do through wireless access but were told for multiple player they need Ethernet access and my husband didn't want to give access that way so we didn't get that upgrade. But the kids still loved it. It was such a success. For an 11 year old party to have more than 20 kids contained in a place for nearly two hours and not hear any screaming in your house and have them actually enjoy what they are doing is worth the money. Prior to contacting Game Truck Houston, I researched the company because I was skeptical about using a video game truck. The reviews were pretty good with only one person claiming that the company did not show up for a party. I contacted Game Truck Houston on October 6, 2017 regarding their game trucks. David was prompt to respond and friendly. I asked him about the bad review and he stated that it may have been from a person that failed to pay their deposit. That's understandable. I scheduled the truck for October 22, 2017 and paid the deposit. I received confirmation and a link to print out custom invitations. Everything was going great! On Sunday, October 22, 2017 at approximately 10:15 a.m. (the party was scheduled for that day at 2:00 p.m.), I received a call from David explaining that the video truck would not be at my party due to a mechanical issue with the truck that occurred the night before. He explained to me that there was no way to fix the truck because it was a Sunday. My issues with this company: 1. I did not receive a call when David learned of the mechanical issue or at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning. I received the call approximately 4 hours before the scheduled event!!! 2. I was not offered any viable options. However, David gave me the option of rescheduling the party or receiving my deposit back! What?!?! David was also kind enough to tell me that there were other video game truck companies and that I needed to call them. 3. I was not offered any compensation for the fault of the company. I had to bust my butt to find another company at the last minute. I paid more money for a smaller truck, but thankfully http://the-game-box.com/index.html came through in the nick of time and they were awesome! Game Truck Houston... the proper response should have been to notify me at midnight when you learned of the issue by sending an email or text, or at the latest, you should have called promptly 8:00 a.m. Also, during the call you should have informed me that you called several companies and located a game truck that could provide the service and that you would pay the difference in the cost of the truck or $100 due to the inconvenience. At the least, you should have provided me with a company that was available to service the party. Instead, 4 hours before the party, you dropped the problem in my lap and basically told me to figure it out. Sad! Things happen! I get it! It's the response to a problem that determines the quality of customer service for a business owner. The name of our Game Coach was David and he was so nice and patient with the kids - and he was extremely knowledgeable about the video games - which made the kids even more excited. I'm not one to bash people by any means, however this needs to be known about this business. We booked the game truck for my son's 10th birthday party and paid the deposit. The day of the party it was getting close to the start of the party and no game truck in sight. I sent David a text just checking to see when he would arrive...no reply. I then called him at 6:56...party starts at 7. He answers and immediately asks for me to hold. 5 minutes of holding I hang up and call back. David answers and I asked how close he was to our house and he was so incredibly rude with the response of what party?? I gave him my name and our address and he responds with "we have no party in Katy today, you must have called the wrong place". After going back and forth of saying no we have booked you, he replies with we can do half price on another day. My son's party started at 7...seriously let's book a birthday party on another day when I have a house full of kids. We tell him this is bad business and we will be letting people know about this company, he then tells us it's "illegal" to give a bad review and then hangs up the phone! Such bad business ethics and just wrong! No David, it's "illegal" to take people's money and not provide a service! NEVER again!! My son loved his 8th birthday party. Mostly because of the game truck but we did a really good job on the not game truck part. I would recommend the game truck to all of my friends. This was my first time hosting a game truck but had been to a party as a guest of one and both Truck hosts were amazing and patient with the children. I will definitely be hosting another gametruck party in the future. read more
