I can go to other places including medical, food & they'll accept my id if I don't have physical id on me. Loved this place. Told people how great it was, and would always stop in at least once when visiting from where I currently live, which is quite far away. Better trade-in values than most places, huge selection of old games, great selection of rare games. I purchased a used Nintendo Switch Dock and it never even crossed my mind for a second to ask the employee to test it before I paid for it. I trust the store, so obviously they test things before they buy them from a customer. Brought it home, didn't work. Tried another device with same HDMI cable in the same port, that worked. Whelp, I'll go get another one. Brought it back, asked for a different one, this time they tested it without me having to ask, and that one also didn't work. I asked for a refund, because I was sold something that didn't work. "No refunds, just store credit." 'But you sold me something that doesn't work.' "Corporate policy dude, it's on the receipt" Cool. Went to their website to try to find an email for corporate to say "hey, this is not okay, you sold me a broken thing, please give me a refund." Their website has no phone number, no email, no contact info or any kind of info for their corporate office. The receipt says "Tell us about your experience! www.TellGameXChange.com". That website does not exist. So I'm doing a chargeback through my credit card issuer and buying a used Dock from Amazon. I'm writing a 1-star review about a small local business, using a corporate policy to get my money back which will be a knock against them from Citi, and supporting a monolithic corporate entity that uses slimy tactics to attack small stores like GameXchange. When Amazon sells me a broken thing they give me my money back. As much as I would rather support local and as much as I would like to see Amazon split up into less anti-trust-ish businesses, I'm going to go with the place that is a little more expensive but does the right thing when they sell me something that doesn't work. I have been a long time GameXchange customer and I couldn't think of a single bad thing to say about this place. This is the ultimate store for movies and video games. The prices are great, the staff is helpful, and they have games for pretty much every single console you could think of. People tend to complain about "being ripped off" when the sell things like DVDs or Blu-Rays and clearly those people don't actually realize how low the re-sale value for those things are these days. This company is not ripping you off, they are giving you money for things that are probably just going to sit on the rack for a year. I came here on Saturday morning because when I travel back to Connecticut, I absolutely make sure I make time to come back here. I wasn't really looking for anything specific so I mostly just browsed the PS4 and Switch games and ended up picking up a PS4 game. The gentleman working was even nice enough to check to see if I had any leftover store credit (which I didn't, bummer). Overall, this is the absolute best video game store around. There's no other chain (at least on the east coast or southern Ontario) that touches this place. read more

So. Iv been a big fan of gameXchange for years however. My opinion on this location has changed 100%. I went to go buy a game "hyrule Warriors definitive addition. I noticed it said "New" not used for $69.99! I understand that games go up in price when they are discontinued. However. When I went to go buy the game, The associate took the "new" game out of a sleeve then put it into the box.... THIS IS NOT NEW!!!!! It's used!!! Period. The excuse was they wanted to display it, so they took the game out of the box! LOL! They have plenty of display cases to display their "new games"! Since when does a used game store sell new anyway. All the fires game stop workers must have jumped ship to this company! If my wife or moms who don't k ow a damn thing about games would have gone and purchased this game, they would t have know. The difference.. shame on you GameXChange... won't be going back to this location at least... customers beware. read more

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The shop has nearly all the games under the sun, comics, DVDs, records, used consoles and controllers. They also sell other electronics like Beats headphones, Apple headphones, iPods, iPads, and Google Homes. Definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for a good deal with these second hand items. read more

Friendliest staff I have ever met. Knowledgeable too. I ditched my DVD collection here and walked away with hundreds in cash (good luck doing that now though). They have a large movie and old school game collection and the staff can help you find anything that you are looking for. Parking lot is a bit tough to get in and out of on Route 5, but it is worth it. If you are looking for an old movie or game, game Xchange in Wallingford should be your first choice to look. read more

I wanted an older game system for my kids and they have plenty to choose from. They had enough staff on Black Friday, so the salesperson could take time and help me pick a used Xbox 360 ($73) on sale, a xconnect ($10) and select games appropriate for my kids. I didn't even get to the DVD selection . I get a 90 day return policy if things don't work. A great, easy shopping experience. read more

My favorite gamexchange location in Connecticut! The staff is really nice and good at recommending stuff and letting you know if its selling fast. The customer service is absolutely top notch. The location is nice as its the only store that isn't very far from the Hartford/New Britain area where I go to school. They have a great selection of games and memorabilia, especially with gunpla, other models and apparel. What would be nice is if the company would build more stores outside of the Southern CT area. read more

I fell in love with this place the first time I went there. I mean seriously though, THEY HAVE ATARI THERE! The prices are awesome, the staff is great, the musics great, and the selection is great! Whats not to love? But seriously, they have everything. Dvd's Blu-rays, 360 games, PS3 games, NES games, iPods, iPads, iPhones, Droids, the list goes on and on. They are super knowledgeable about old school gaming (a passion of mine) and are not afraid to offer their opinions on games which I respect. I have traded in as well as made purchases and always had a good experience. They are even willing to let you test the games before you buy them which is a huge plus! read more

I've been in here many times and find the stock extensive, the staff pleasant and helpful and the store enjoyable. It's an exchange place, so what's there is what people have brought in, but given that, there's usually a great assortment of things to chose from Every time I've been in, the staff have consistently been professional, pleasant and helpful. They pay enough attention without hovering. listen well, ask decent questions and really seem to care about making my experience the best that it can be. I come for video and gaming supplies, but the great attitudes and performance of the staff would make this a preferred stop even if it wasn't in my area read more

This store started out good but has more recently gone straight downhill under new management,with new management picking & choosing what warranties to honor & in some cases not honoring it own warranties,which to me is pretty disturbing. They also have a bad habit of not answering the phone early in the business day.They only sell used games meaning a lot of the games they sell cant be played online multiplayer unless you buy an online pass seperately.They also give a lot less $ for used stuff now than they use to, & the last time I wanted to sell them a used gm they offered me a $2 check rather than giving me $2 cash,so I kept the game . Gamestop may not always have the best price,but I have always known them to honor their warranties,answer their phones, & provide customer support. read more
