We have had an outstanding experience with Garabar. Mary and I had watched the company working in a couple homes in our immediate neighborhood and were favorably impressed. Although some repairs had been done to our roof and we were very satisfied with the result, we felt that a company with more experience would be appropriate where we had an engineering report indicating that the total replacement of the roof was required. We obtained competing estimates which provided a narrow range of choices. Garabar's bid was the most detailed but still below the middle. In addition to several meetings with the estimator, we were introduced to a couple of the workers who came down the street from another Garabar job to assist the estimator. My experience with Garabar was exceptional in every way, from first contact to post-work follow-up. The inspection (by Tom) to determine the location and scope of a substantial roof leak was addressed in a timely and professional manner despite an attic packed tight with insulation which made inspection cumbersome. The "not to exceed" estimate was fair and detailed. The work was expertly performed by Adiel and James, who patiently addressed questions and kept me apprised of progress throughout the multi-day job. More importantly, they determined that the scope of damage was more extensive than originally estimated, thus preventing further damage. Despite the scope change, and with it the increase in cost of the repair, Garabar honored the "not to exceed" estimate and absorbed the cost overrun. Finally, communication from the office staff regarding work progress and request for feedback from me was ongoing and professional. Final billing was detailed and included numerous pictures of work-in-progess for my records. Adrian Rodrigez came over to discuss the scope of the project, and we thoroughly discussed everything that needed to be done with this project. We spoke about the approximate timeline of how long it will take to complete it. He gave me the guidelines and what is involved with replacing my roof. Adrian was there with the answers I needed so I would have no worries and gave me confidence that the job would be done with the expertise I expected. I think that the company should revamp their contract as to say they would be responsible for damages that happens inside the home. I had a light fixture that broke, and I had to personally replace it. Although the contract said that they are not responsible for damages. Adrian seemed genuinely concerned with my questions and answered them to the best of his understanding. I needed a total roof replacement for the flat roof on my 1931 Spanish Mission home. The hall was showing water damage and self patching wasn't cutting it anymore. I got several quotes and I chose Garabar for 3 reasons: #1 Their quote was the lowest #2 Their warranty on my new roof was 10 years, the other quotes were 7 years or less #3 They used the newest tech, my new roof is sealed with a thick bright white membrane that they use on commercial roofs, the other quotes were for the old tar and asphalt. They took awhile to get started because of permits and other jobs but once they did the crew worked every minute for 3.5 days to completion. They handled the demo well in spite of the difficult access, the other companies acted like that was going to be a really big deal. Garabar Inc. came to our rescue when we were in desperate need of a roofer during the holiday season. We had checked out other roofers and they appeared unreliable as they did not return phone calls and were slow in giving us an estimate. We searched and had a number of bids to re-roof the home that we were going to purchase. We were referred to Garabar by a friend in our community, and I contacted Larry Zimmerman to come take a look at our small roof leak. Larry came out, and then we were sent a proposal via email that the cost of the repair would not exceed a certain set amount. The technicians came out on the agreed upon day and time and spent about 9 hours repairing our roof leak. They were very thorough and professional, and when they were finished, I could not even tell that they had been there. They cleaned up everything, and the roof looked as good as new!
