Last night one of our garage door springs broke. Office Manager Kevin was able to fit me into their busy schedule as promised and we really appreciated his help in getting our door fixed as soon as possible. Most others were a day or two out. Scott showed up, confirmed the price in advance, and fixed our broken spring in approximately 30-40 minutes. Scott was so professional and we liked the fact that he explained in detail what he was going to do and showed me how to lube the spring every 6 months so the spring would last. well, I hit the garage door with my car. luckily there was no damage to my car, but I did bend the door a bit and some screws fell off. we were able to get it closed and we called garage door store boise to come help! they came out the next day, right when they said they would show up. corbin was up front about the options and the costs of both. I waited to see if he was able to repair it, or if we would need a whole new door right then. luckily, it was in good enough shape to fix, and with parts and labor it was $102. he did quote me $1200 for a brand new door with new tracks and everything. Before moving in to my place, the home inspection flagged damage to the metal bracket on the top panel of the garage door. I had someone come look at it and they made a bid to replace the whole top panel, which contained windows and was expensive. The previous homeowner elected to have a piece of angle iron installed to reinforce the top of the door and the top bracket - a cheap band-aid. On 2/20/19 I hired The Garage Door Store to replace the garage door spring and cables for$185.00. Prior to starting I showed the tech that the opener worked. After installing the new pieces, the door was activated and went up and down like it had before the spring had broke. It did not go all the way to the ground, stopping about 3 inches from it. I thought a minor adjustment and everything would be done. The technician started adjusting the opener and I went into the house. I hadn't heard from the tech for some time and went back to the garage. All of the brackets and hardware connecting the door to opener were in a pile on the floor and the guy was working on the track for the garage door. I turned on the opener and it has a constant hum and does not work. I had to turn off the breaker to get it to stop. The tech then left. Charlie Fairchild P.S. A paint can from our top shelf in the garage fell between the garage door and the frame. We didn't know it was there and tried to shut the door, causing it to jam and bow the tracks. It also busted one of the cables. It's 10° out on a Saturday afternoon and we didn't want to leave it open until Monday, which is when we assumed would be the first time someone could come out. My husband found their ad on Google that they're open on Saturday. I called and they gave me a 2 hour window. They showed up within that time frame and had it fixed in under 15 minutes for $59. We figured it would be at least a couple hundred. I was impressed and so appreciative. They put a sticker above our openers. Great place to do to business! We have used the Garage Door Store before when we had a broken spring. Kevin was able to get out the next day to get it fixed and we've had no problems since. So when it was time to get a new door I knew we would be calling them again. The whole process of getting a new door went smoothly from start to finish.
