I have been a customer of Garage Door Systems for over 15 years, and they have always provided good service. Unfortunately, that all changed about a month ago when my garage door fell off the tracks. I called Garage Door Sytems, and they came over to fix the door. About three weeks later, the garage door was not closing evenly and eventually became jammed. I called the company again and asked if they could come over and look at the door. The service technician they sent had an attitude problem from the moment he arrived. He claimed that doors don't just start closing unevenly and suggested that I must have done something to damage it. I told him I didn't call for his lousy attitude and that he could leave if he wasn't willing to work on the door. He refused to perform any warranty repairs. He eventually fixed the door, but left without informing me that he was finished. I called his dispatcher to report what had happened, and they told me that the technician had already reported the incident and that they would follow up with me later that afternoon. Well, they never called me back and the door broke again. I ended up calling a different garage door repair company, and they fixed the issue. The new technician said it was a simple fix--a loose pulley. Garage Door Systems management didn't care to follow up. I'll never use or recommend this company again. They only want to charge you for quick, subpar service. read more

They never once called or emailed me back (even with the estimate) until I got a man to reach out on my behalf. Kind of a bummer. It took them over 2 months to repair the garage. We ended up doing a patch ourselves after our cars sustained hail damage. When calling to ask when our ordered part would arrive, they never knew but were always "pretty sure" it would be on the truck next week. Again, this went on for 2 months. The techs themselves are great and did solid work. But the scheduling/estimate/ordering/customer service side of the business was super frustrating. Price was pretty standard. This company did great work to install our garage door opener! We were having difficulty with the door not going up and down consistently so we made a call to have them come back and help us. Jack came and made our garage door track more secure as it was wobbly! Super awesome service. Don, who's been with them for a while was so friendly and very quickly fixed the problem. Apparently, the technician who originally installed the garage door had forgotten a few things- and apparently he was fired. Don was on time and worked very quickly. He was in and out after fixing the garage door in about a half an hour. Amazing! Plus, he was so polite and willing to let me chat with him while he was correcting problems that the fired technician had forgotten to do or did incorrectly. That's not a smear on the company at all... it's good that they decided to let that person go and repaired the things that technician didn't do - at no charge. My garage is tricky, it doesn't have much clearance to install the door but just enough. Apparently, it's a home that was built at the YMCA and installed in this particular neighborhood. They are known to have very minimal in construction. Don even gave me interesting information on the neighborhood which was interesting and good to know. The door is fixed and good as new... no popping and banging and having to push the door to close it at the 1 foot level where it would stop. I am overjoyed with the efficiency and friendliness that came from Don. He's been there long enough to make the job look simple and almost automatic. Now, the receptionist, or whoever answers the phone is not as good representation of the company so don't judge them by her seemingly indifferent and dull attitude. If I were the boss, I'd let her go. That's my only gripe. Otherwise, this is the business you want to use! Look no further, you've found the right business. read more

Let me start by saying that there are a lot of garage door scammers out there. I will admit that I fell for it at first. I got the coupon in the Money Mailer (direct mail coupon book), and thought I was going to get a great deal. The guy from the coupon came out. He was so aggressive. High pressure sales tactics, wouldn't tell me the model of the opener that he was going to install. He actually became a bit aggressive. I am a 40 year old man that stands 6'3" and weighs 240lbs. This dude was making me nervous. I finally showed him to his truck and told him to get the f**k off my property. Had my wife or mother been confronted with these tactics, I am not sure how it would have gone. Called a good friend who is a local HVAC guy and he recommended Garage Door Systems. I called them up. Got an appointment the next morning. They came out and were beyond professional. The service technician quickly diagnosed my problem, gave me some options in terms of features of the system etc. I selected the one that I thought would best suit me. He pulled the product off the truck, adjusted my door, installed the new equipment all the while he carried on a wonderful conversation. He finished, shook my hand and went to his next appointment. All told, I had a true professional in my home that repaired my door and replaced my equipment for less than 1/3 of Mr. aggressive coupon guy quoted me. I will never use any other garage door service company other than Garage Door Systems. Hands down the best customer service and value experience I have had from a service company. The spring on my garage door broke so I called these guys to fix it based on some of the other reviews. They sent over a repair man who was very knowledgeable and took time to explain what he was doing. The repair was not something that I would have tried to do myself. Those springs have a lot of torque and if you mess up, you could really hurt yourself. He made it look easy. The repair man said that when the torsion springs go out they can ruin the gears in your garage door opener so he checked and told me all was good there. Everything was adjusted and checked and finished in less that an hour. It has been several weeks now and it all works good. I think these people are honest and quick. What's not to like. "I have a hard time understanding how this company stays in business. I called 3 weeks ago to get someone to replace the garage door weatherstripping. The girl sent someone out to look at it and I was told it would take a week to order the weatherstripping. Didn't hear anything for a week and a half and called a week ago, was told by the girl that she was picking up the weatherstripping, and would call me the following week to set up time to do the job. They took a chance and actually arrived EARLY (totally fine with me!), and were open and honest about the problem. The spring on my 16' door snapped last night. I called Garage Door Systems Inc this morning at 0800. Christina was super nice, helping me understand how much it would cost, including replacing the gasket at the bottom of the door to fill the gap I've been noticing for the past year or so. Michael arrived before noon and began repairing the springs, after I moved my 4-wheeler out of the way. I also asked Michael about whether he could adjust the door opener itself, as it had some slack in the track belt. I went back into the house to do some work. Before I knew it, Michael told me he was done. The spring was replaced, the slack in the opener's track belt was removed, and the gap at the bottom was gone. He did not have to replace the gasket at the bottom. Just fixing the spring and removing the slack in the track belt did the job. The price was less than what I was expecting, but within the range Christina had said - but on the low side. I couldn't be any happier! On top of that, after Michael left, I realized he had move the 4-wheeler back into the garage. He never said anything about it when we were finishing up. What service! I've used Garage Door Systems three times in about as many years (my house is 20 years old). I don't expect there to be any more problems for a while. But if I do have issues, they will be the first people I call! read more

I left a phone message last night after hours. They returned my call 7:30 am this morning and had someone here by 8:30 am. The repairman, Don, was very honest. He said that I needed to have a strut replaced so that the garage door wouldn't buckle. He even moved a lower strut up higher to reinforce the top. He also inspected the garage door opener and said it was working fine. The service call charge of $85 included the labor. It's working smoother than it ever has. I highly recommend them. read more
