Car was bottoming out on the road, I did not feel safe. I could hear parts banging around under the car as we drove over bumps. 6 hours after I dropped my car off, they call me telling me I need $2,000.00 of work done and there's no way it passed a safety 36 days ago. One of the parts he said it needed was just replaced 2 months ago. (passenger lower control arm and bushing). Weird, HYUNDAI did a safety on it and everything was fine. He quoted me on the phone 800$ for the work but when I show up, the quote on paper is $2,000.00. I was upset of course and he asked me to never come back to his establishment again. They tried to take advantage of me because I am a young female.

I have been a client of Roy Rump & Sons for about 4 years now and each time I've needed them, I was made to feel welcome by both the front-desk folks and the mechanical technicians. They explain all repairs clearly and with patience. They always provide as accurate an estimate as possible and, if they diagnose an issue and discover it was a simpler fix than they thought at the time, they gladly tell me that it will not cost as much to fix and that kind of honesty is why I will never go anywhere else. They always send me reports with digital photos and videos of the work along with their recommendations to keep my SUV in good working condition. There in only one little drawback... because they are so popular for all the things I mentioned, they are very busy a lot of the time and it can affect how soon they can book an appointment with you but, it is always worth the wait. I also asked if they have an inspection service, which they do, so had them perform that. I recieved a very clear prioritized inspection report on my 6 year old car, which I can execute on. Car repairs are not cheap, in general. I think I was charged fairly and got great service. I'm also gonna note here, this business was recommended on my neighbourhood FB page. I notice 2 horrible reviews her on yelp. On google they have a near perfect score. In my opinion, the two reviews don't hold water. One is by someone listed as being in California, with only one review. The other is local, also one review. I'm guessing they are fake accounts. Do with that what you will.

The following week they told me that my alternator needed to be replaced at a cost of $1136.50 with taxes it comes to $1284.25. I then went on YouTube and learned that an older model Nissan's, if the air conditioner compressor is removed, you run the risk of a leakage or damaging the compressor. I then called the Garage and expressed my concerns about my air conditioner compressor to Jonathan. I asked Jonathan to remove the rad fans and the radiator and and do the job that way. He informed me that the Mechanic did not want to do it that way and wants to remove the compressor for my air-conditioning. I really receive my car back on 7 July 2026 and as I drove home, I noticed the air conditioner, getting warmer and warmer. I called the garage and the Mechanic informed me to go in on the following Friday which was 31 July. At that time the Mechanic put a full can of air-conditioning gas into my car and my car began blowing cold air but the closer I came to home the hotter it got . So I called the Mechanic as soon as I got home and he told me to bring it in on Wednesday July 5, 2026. Now during my conversation with Jonathan he guaranteed me that at the end of this process I would have air-conditioning and it would be no issues. The Garage charged me another $226 to inform me that my compressor for my air-conditioning is no longer functioning and that they would repair it for a cost of $1400. Meanwhile, they had my car locked in the garage and I knew they were not gonna give me back my car unless I paid the $226 so I did I would like to know exactly what caused my compressor to fail. I would like to know why you didn't follow my instructions to remove the rad fans and radiator and remove the alternator without touching the compressor to my air conditioning. You decided to do it your way and now the compressor no longer works. I would like you to respond to this letter before I have to take further action. A response is requested. I was guaranteed by Jonathan that when the repair work was done my air conditioner would be operational. It is now not operational and I cannot get into my car when it's hot having a spinal cord injury, which does not allow me to travel in a heated car without the air conditioning, I cannot travel in my own car. If a reply is not received I will be contacting Consumer and Corporate affairs I have already contacted the Better Business Bureau and they are waiting on your response.I will take this to court if necessary !!!

A couple of weeks after leaving the vehicle under Otto's garage care and waiting the appraisal, I showed up unannounced as I needed some of my personal belongings in the vehicle. Vehicle parked outside, unprotected with puddles of water in it and dripping water from the trunk. Once the infiltration reported to them, what was supposed to be a simple clean-up based on Otto's ended up with a vehicle deemed total loss by certified appraiser. I just can't imagine what would have happen down the years with electric problems not covered under BMW's warranty.

I got to talk Theo myself, and the guy is super knowledgeable, kind, and speaks very very good French and English. There's no problem at all, and I'd say both his clarity and kindness makes him a better communicator than most. I highly recommend anyone to check it this place if you need any work done of your vehicle. Theo even goes farther in detail to show you what work will be done on the vehicle, and to find you cheaper alternatives. And is just an easy phone call away.

I asked him verify my AC to see if it was an issue with the compressor that needs replacing or if it could be fixed. Instead of just verifying he said he "fixed it" and asked me for 50$. I stupidly gave him the money before checking the work. I told him that the air wasn't cold at all, it was warm as opposed to hot. He said it would cost me 200$ to fix it because he has to refill the whole thing. I told him I had no problem paying the 200$ if it'll be fixed as I wanted from the start.. I said I didn't pay 50$ for warm air instead of hot air so please include this as part of the "real total" to get it fixed. He refused, argues and said I'll have to pay 200$ separately. Will never come back here again and do not recommend this place to anyone who would like honest work, where they can trust someone with their car and money. Learn to at least speak English OR French... and don't steal people's money by doing something that they never asked for and still not fixing the issue. This is unacceptable.
