My daughter has been going to Dr. Garai for 5 or 6 years wearing metal braces for a process that was supposed to take a year or two. They try to blame my daughter for not wearing her rubber bands. she wears them religiously. Based on the total lack of results, I think this place is basically a scam. read more

Very unsanitary. When I was in the waiting room with my daughter, I was waiting there for 40 minutes. Finally after the long , wait we get to the chair and have to wait another 20. After waiting for a long while, the next thing you know Dr. Garai starts touching my daughter's hands with NO GLOVES. He continued to as well yell at her for breaking her braces again for the second time and proceeded again with his unsanitary hands to touch my daughter's face, the next day, my TEN-year-old daughter awakes with a BIG FAT pimple on her face EXACTLY where Dr. Garai had touched her. read more

This is one of two Garai Orthodontic offices. The one in Vienna is close to my home. Dr. Garai is nice but he's not very talkative because the nurses are who usually spends the most time with you. He will be the one to initially put on your braces but I'm the appointment, the nurses are the ones who change your wires etc but he will come around to check your progress and give instructions. Everyone in the office is very nice and pleasant and they are very up to date with the technology that they use to scan your teeth etc. it is easy to get an appointment or to ask them to fit you in if you have an issue with your braces. They offer traditional braces or Invisalign so you have options depending on your style and budget. There is not a long waiting time when you come in for your appointment. Usually they see your in less than five minutes. The back area where they do the appointment is decently spaced with 10 or so chairs (didn't actually count) but they can do multiple appointments at once. Highly recommend it. read more

I came in for a consult for Invisalign in April of 2019. Dr. Garai and his staff are very friendly and helpful, and provided me a plan for treatment the same day. I am about halfway through my treatment and I wanted to stop here to brag about them. Every followup visit is excellent, and the staff makes everyone feel welcome and treats clients like family. The office is very beautiful, modern and comfortable. There is even a thoughtful station for clients to brush their teeth prior to their visit. They have permanently damaged my child's teeth. In taking off the bracket from her braces, they damaged the enamel of her FRONT tooth so badly that she's going to need a crown. They would not admit that there was anything wrong with the tooth when I tried to point it out. Now that we are seeing a different dentist, they immediately commented on how disappointed they were in the job that our Orthodontist did. I had ortho treatment before but i lost the retainer and didnt replace it immediately so i experienced slight movement in the front teeth. Dr. Garai decided that i need treatment to fix the movement wth invesiline . After a year, i finished the treatment wth the big shock. I never ever experienced gummy smile before in my whole life (30 yrs) and now after the treatment i had gummy smile . I was so embarrassed when i smile. Honestly, it was the worst experience ever. The thing is they recommended invesiline and pour the whole 25 sets at once without knowing how your teeth will look or move. I paid over 6000 for having gummy smile ( i got 500 device to expedite the treatment) I regret that i put my trust on this clinic. I finally found a trusty Orthodentist and started new treatment with him , now after 16 months he was able to solve the gummy smile and now i got my smile back and now i smile with confidence Just pleas before you put your money and time on ortho treatment, search and look at before and after. read more

Best orthodontist around! I choose him because of the great reviews I seen online and ended up getting my braces at my consultation. Dr. Garai has some of the nicest staff, they know your name and they get you seated right away. I had my braces 20 months, and now I had my retainers for just under a year. Even after your braces are off Dr. Garai checks on your progress. If I needed to get braces again I would definitely go to him. He surprised me with the gift at the end of my term. read more

I went in for a consultation. It was simple. They took x-rays and I sat down with the dentist. He maybe looked at the x-rays for three seconds then recommended a 2 1/2 to 3 year braces plan. My teeth are not that out of place. I decided to get a number of other opinions from other dentists. Every single other dentist that I saw said there was no need for braces, let alone braces for 2 to 3 years, because there's no need to spend that amount of money to fix my teeth. "Dr." Garai just wants money. I even asked the other dentists why Dr. Garai would recommend braces for a minimum of two years and every last one of them said it sounds like he just wants your money which I couldn't agree more. Save your money for a dentist that cares more about the patient as opposed to the almighty dollar read more

Everyone here from the front desk to the assistants to the drs are incredibly nice and friendly. When I first got my braces put on Dr. Garai called me later in the day to make sure I was doing okay. They helped me with a payment plan and it has been worth every penny. I am not always an easy patient and I seem to break bands often but they never judge me and are always welcoming. My son, a sixth grader, has come to DR. Garai's office for over a year now. This place is wonderful! For example, something happened to my son's brace yesterday, so I called and we are able to come in this morning. The scheduled appointment is at 9am, but we arrived half an hour earlier. Not to my surprise, the technicians start to work on his teeth almost immediately. What I really appreciate is that they patiently explained and encouraged my son to brush his teeth carefully and frequently. I have two kids. One has completed his treatment from Dr Garai and the other is in treatment now. We used to live in Northern Virginia, but have relocated to North Carolina. My boys came in for their first consultation ever, the office was so amazing and made them feel so comfortable and safe. Dr. Garai walked me through treatment plans for a later date but they didn't need anything at the current moment which was great to hear. He was so nice and helpful with explaining everything. I recently got braces from Dr. Garai since I am getting married. I love and highly recommend them for the following reasons: 1. EXTREMELY CUSTOMER FRIENDLY - I broke my wire when in Europe and they facetimed with me to make sure I could get the wire back in!! 2. HONEST APPRAISAL - he told me he could not guarantee that my teeth will be 100% aligned by the wedding date but he would personally make sure that they look better than before the braces. 3. Great for Adults! I went here after seeing the commercial on TV, and I'm glad I did. Once I saw that they can put braces behind the teeth (Lingual Braces), I scheduled an appointment. After the initial consultation, I decided to get it. Although it was a bit expensive, I felt that it was worth it because people can't even tell that you have them unless you show them. The service they provided was excellent. The staff greets you by your name and with a smile as you walk in. I have had experiences before where the receptionist completely ignores you and just expects you to sign in and have a seat until you get called. They do their best to accommodate all their patients. They answer all your questions and try to make your visit as pleasant as possible. The office is clean and inviting, with video games for the kids, and some coffee and donuts for the parents. Dr. Garai is excellent as well. He takes the time and double check's his staff's work to ensure that the patient receives the best service. He makes sure you're satisfied with his work before you leave the office. I would HIGHLY recommend visiting Dr. Garai if you're thinking about getting braces. GARAI IS AMAZING! My teeth were really messed up, and by that, I mean really bad. I only had to wear braces for two years and now they are perfectly straight.
